  • Hey! I have got LMMS and I produce with AKAI MPK Mini.... Well, i have got a question for you... In my MPK has got pads... How can i put different sounds on the pads with LMMS?

If you can help me i would really appreciate it :D

  • this is interesting...I bought a midi to usb (not firewire) and it works well.

  • You should have turned on the lava lamp ;-)

  • I know that E413 has mini-usb (or micro), did you use usb - mini-usb cable or midi - usb? I have E303, there're only midi in/out and audio.

  • @KazekiriFlora It has the same cable you might use for a printer. Don't know what that's called?

  • @mazza558 Oh, I know this one, but my synth hasn't this jack(( Seems I have to buy midi - usb cable. Thanks.

  • Hey thats the keyboard i have!

  • I got my keyboard plugged to LMMS, but the sound comes after I release the key. Do you know why is this??

  • @obscurecult Windows has latency (lag) between LMMS and the keyboard. It's just the way its sound system works, and unfortunately LMMS doesn't yet work with the free low-latency alternative (name escapes me at the mo).

  • Thanks for this awesome video.

  • Like some of you guys, I'm having problems getting my keyboard synthesiser, a Yamaha CBX-K1, to work with LMMS. So far none of the videos I've seen explain how to do it. The video below seems to explain it a little bit, but even so it tends to rush through the part I want to know about. I suggest you keep a notebook handy and try to write the important info. down.

  • hey buddy i have the same keyboard when i used fl studio, when i press keys on my keyboard the sound delay how could i fix it..

  • @AvishtPiano If you have windows, there's no way at the moment, not with LMMS at least. On Linux it has no latency.

  • I have really bad input lag using my roland midi keyboard with windows, and can't fix it, does anyone know how to fix this?

Trying ASIO4all but apparently it doesn't work with LMMS

    cheers

  • @backpackcamera See my comments above!

  • Can Any One Help? I Have A Casio CTK-720 And I Have A Plug That Allows Me To Hook My Key Board Up To My Lap-Top But Whenever I Open LMMS And Click Tools And Click The Piano Icon I Dont See My Model. Is There Something I Need To Download Or Am I Missing At Step ???

  • not bad man, you demonstrated a lot of the sounds im looking to get out of lmms with a keyboard. thanks. and keep at it.

  • So can you actually record pitch bend?

  • Hey, I have a basic Yamaha keyboard, with 2 inputs. Ac adapter and a jack. I need more to connect to my PC? A MIDI interface?

  • Hi I have a Yamaha PSR-E423.. I am trying to figure out how to output what I play in my keyboard into LMMS..could you help please?

  • @scshekar78 "System Failed Could Not Find Input Try Downloading It Again"

  • Can Lmms record the pitch bend? That's a key feature for me if I want to get a keyboard to use with Lmms.

  • can you make more tutorials on how to do this?

    i got the equipment now

but its hard i can't get it to work yet

  • this is awesome

    thanks for making the video

i just got a midi keyboard and now i need to get the cable so i can try this stuff out

  • I have the same keyboard and I can't use it with LMMS.XD

  • @0:15 is that Fruity Loops Studio? lol

  • @parkourer100 It's LMMS, a free alternative.

  • @mazza558 yea its free but it still can't match fruity loops 7-9

and u can also get that for free if ur smart ^^

  • @parkourer100 no offence, but people who practice parkour are called 'Traceurs' which is slang for speed in france, as a "Parkourer" as you call them you should know that.

  • i've got that keyboard, yeah(A)

  • Wow , I didnt think you could do much with LMMS .

  • Is their a way to make a drumkit or different sample for each key? I know it's possible in FL studio but I don't have any windows PCs.

  • yawn...

  • gutes video hab ne frage gibst ein programm womit

man techno remix usw machen kann wen ja schreibt mir

  • wow love the daft punk part :) lol how much does one of these keyboards go for? i hope to be like daft punk or justice one day :'( lol, hey if you wanted to sell music you made in lmms do you think there would be any licenses and shit like so you couldnt sell it? it is a free software

    good vid!

  • @InfectedBAMBAM

Really doesn't matter which keyboard you go for, as long as it can connect to a PC via midi. You could go for a $30/£45 keyboard and get the same result as above, as only the physical keyboard keys are being used.

  • @InfectedBAMBAM LMMS has no licences apart from a creative commons (share-alike i think) licence. that means if you use in-built synths or samples, then you have to give credit to LMMS.

  • to connect lmms and the midi board you have to click on the tools in the beat + bassline and turn the usb cord on

  • Hello,

    I Have the same keyboard,

And i know how to plug in with lmms but how can you : Take the sound of the keyboard to put in in lmms?

    Thank

  • @DEZxINTEGRAL you cant put sounds directly, but you could record them with Sound recorder, Audacity, Jokosher or something like that and open it in lmms (ogg file format)...

  • hey can you give some sort of a tutorial on how to get LMMS to see your MIDI keyboard? I have my digital piano plugged in and its working in musescore but I don't know how to tell LMMS to use it

  • how much is the midi keyboard ur using

  • How do you record using a kwyboard?. It seems like the record button on the LMMS is greyed out and I'm trying tot figure out how to record uaing a keyboard

  • I just got the psr E413 yesterday, and i was wondering how to connect the keyboard to my Windows 7 computer and get LMMS to register the notes I play?

  • Ehh..

LMMS is works on Vista too! :)

  • It works in either Windows or Linux, but Linux has different VST/module capabilities than Windows.

  • On windows.

  • What do you do to get it to stop using so much cpu?

  • On Windows or Linux?

  • @mazza558 sorry is possible to use massive from N.I. with lmms to record the melody?

  • @mazza558 On both, but linux is way better in any aspect

  • @themagnificent117 You get a better CPU. I've never used LMMS, but Logic Studio has a feature where you can freeze a channel. Essentially it processes all the effects and turns it into audio until you unfreeze it, saving CPU as it's only playing back the audio instead of generating the software sounds and processing it.

  • What is it you do to get it to stop using much of the cpu?

  • But Hey can you put the sample you made in lmms in your keyboard??

    Thank

  • Yup, you can use the audiofileprocessor plugin to do that. You can also export your project as a sound file and then play back that sound file as a note on your keyboard.

  • Forget it its because i didnt restart lmms

  • Nice video

Hey I got the same keyboard

And i got problem with configure lmms and the keyboard

Can you help me if i send you more information? thank

  • how did you work it thru did u use some software on the yamaha

  • Nope, my PC handled everything, I'm only using the keyboard for the keys themselves.

  • Hello there, what are the initials of LMMS? Can i download this software for free? Does this have a functional 16 track sequencer recorder on the free version. Is this functional for my needs? I have a Roland E-500 with midi connectors and my PC has a Creative sound blaster audigy eX with midi connectors from year 2003.

  • LMMS stands for Linux MultiMedia studio. It is completely free for everything and it is open source so if something doesn't work just bring it up on the forums and i am sure your issue can be resolved.

  • You can have as many tracks as you want, as far as I know, and up to 64 FX channels. The MIDI controls on the keyboard can also be assigned to LMMS controls such as track volumes, etc.

  • LMMS - Linux MultiMedia Studio

its free for Linux and Windows, probably there is a Mac version, but I don't know.

  • 2:24 sounded exactly like the soundtrack from the Midgard realm of Dark Age of Camelot. I loved that game... until I quit videogames :(

  • do u know how to add voice on this thing wid normal microphone not the other singing mic ??? please respond

  • original song. can u use the samples in commercial projects?

  • The samples that come with LMMS? I think they're licensed under creative commons, meaning you can use them but need to attribute them. There's loads of sample websites around either way.

  • Okay, thank you. LMMS is very similar to FL Studio? Would you use FL and Pay for it, or would you use LMMS with lower functionality but for free???

  • how does it works with VST and VSTi ??? Can you import them ??? Are you using Linux? I want to change to Linux and LMMS and Ardour. And I want to use all my nice Plugins but i dont know ... can I Import them without problems?

    Nice vid!

    Drail

  • There's an instrument plugin included with LMMS called VeSTige, that lets you load .dll files. Sorry I don't know much about it, I've never used it, but I'm assuming that would be what you are looking for.

  • Midi works fine with VSTi...not sure about VST. LMMS has support for VSTi. You might want to check on VST effects before you make the move.

Also, VSTi presets don't work, so your instruments have to be created from scratch.

  • very nice, Aerodynamic wins : )

I'm learning LMMS and my brother has a nearly identical keyboard. Do you need to install software or drivers to get the program to recognize the keyboard?

  • good job dude :)

  • Good stuff

  • great vid you're a modern day jon lord cheers! LMMS rocks!

  • Question:

do you need a certain usb cable for coneccting the keyboard to your computer??

  • usb to midi cable,..try ebay costs around £10 or less

  • yup, lava lamp :)

  • is that a lava lamp or something next to ur monitor? Looks pimp
