  • Tons of acorns where I live I think the squirrels got it made.... Yes I look in the tree holes and too find their stashes... Good post!

  • I was taught in high school that over time Acorns can effect your liver, I dunno if its true but I shy away any way.

  • I once found a wild Filbert to my surprize. Our city is planting burr oak & they survived I collected some acorns this fall to plant. Other than that believe it or not there are no acorn bearing trees here Joe. I planted a Sugar Maple & it just freezes back to ground each season. Hense in our part of the world the critters would be of most interest as without them you die in Northern Bush or Prairie. Burr Oak seem very hardy. I'm big on planting food forests. Show squirrel next!
