Hey everyone, I have a question. I am planning to arrive in Tilburg in autumn (I'm planning on studying there) I wanted to ask: are there any coffeeshops left ? :))) I mean I have heard a lot about closing coffeeshops due to drug tourism, so basically is it going to happen ? thanks :]

@eJarex Yes, we have plenty of them. If you arrive by train you're in luck because you will find the best (and most expensive) coffeshop at like 200 meters from the station (grasscompany)

@eJarex I'm not sure about that. It is true that a lot of city's in the brabant region have been expieriencing a lot of problems with drugs tourism and that's why they closed their coffeeshops. And the government is planning to put a stop to drugs tourism trough membership cards. But as far as I know you will be allowed in now.. And if that's not the case you could also try one of the coffeshops on for example the bredase weg.. There is not always a guard at the door there.

@eJarex I visit Tilburg alot because my fella lives there. as far as it is at the moment, anyone can use the coffee shops there. Breda and Roosendal have shut their shops to tourists but so far Tilburg has not. Also i heard that the membership cards proved unpopular so it looks like it wont go through.

..tilburg was leuk totdat ze de oude gebouwtjes gesloopt en de stad verbouwd hebben.. de sfeer is flink verneukt met die modernizering.. casino midden in de stad? fietsenstalling/parkeerplaats weg voor lompe winkels. weg nostalgie en leuke sfeer als je een biertje drinkt.. zelfs t stadsplein volgescheten met duivenstront had charme. tilburg had n underground (muziek) scene, nu is t n blowscene en buitenlanders.

Ik ben zelf Tilburger. Niet dat Tilburg zo'n mooie stad is, bijna net zo lelijk als Rotterdam eigenlijl, toch vind ik dit beeld van Tilburg niet goed.

A word of warning, watch out for an Irish girl called Louise, she hangs out at the Irish bar and has some terrible disease and steals drunk people's wallets and sells identites to criminals(just so you know!)

Actually I was there for work (3 weeks). Not sure if that makes me a tourist or not. My favorite place in Holland is Arnhem. Amsterdam is an awesome place as well. Actually all of Holland is beautiful. I agree that they are nicer cities in Holland than Tilburg but I had a great time while I was there and this is why I made the video to share. I didn't make it because I thought it was the nicest city in Holland.
