FOUR sessions only and she's only 5 years old??? Wow!!! What an amazing horsewoman Jana will be if she continues this way -- I see that this video was made almost 4 years ago... I'd love to see what Jana can do NOW! Nice job!
Well Done Jana....you have been paying close attention to Parelli's principles! Keep up the good work. Your a natural. Your horse knows the games well too. Always keep your eyes open :)
wow that was very cute and awesome. I love to see that your daughter treats her horse like an animal, not like a toy. I often see that young girls and boys are mean to their horses kick them and stuff...and this girl is so young and such a great horse girl.
I still don't agree with the friendly game, but this is just too cute! =3 It's lovely to see a kid who's more interested in the relationship with the horse than flapping around atop an anonymous shetland's back, yanking merrily at the poor creature's gums. xD The horse looks a little bored at times, but otherwise he's nice and responsive. Now he just has to wait for her to grow up so they can dare to be bolder ^^
It's because when you really think about it, do horses really go all touchy-feely with one another to gain each other's trust? Distance is a key point for horses: even humans can get uncomfortable when too many people pollute their space. Trust =respect of one's distance.
I really don't believe that if they allow you to touch them all over, they instantly trust you. Some horses hate to be touched, and it has nothing to do with trust! It's a human thing to cuddle.. not a horse's. ^^
When thought about that way, it really does make sense.
But in my opinion, being able to touch your horse all over, is a good thing, that way, if they get cuts that need to be stitched or tended to in any medical way, it won't be difficult for your vet, or yourself, because your horse would be used to being touched all over. And- on another note- my horse likes to cuddle waay more then i do ;)
Aww amazing. I decided to look up Parelli and came across you video, great to see such a wonderful relationship between the horse and your daughter. She makes it look so easy x
she is amazing! this is absolutely brilliant, she is so clever :) thomasstep1, you may not be aware but actually there are only few people that are uneducated enough to think that beating a horse until it reponds out of fright is acceptable. Isn't that just bullying? Please keep your methods to yourself in future, people that do Parelli do not really like to hear stupid remarks like that. Thanks - once again, amazing girl.
just so every1 knows... i have no problem beating the crap out of my horse if it doesn't listen... but thats my... and 99% of all other horse riders opinions lol
Hi - Who is teaching who !? I have heard that our horses are our best teachers, in the end; and they are so forgiving; it's not a wonder they are God's favorite animal - so I have been told. Nice music btw I wonder who it is; I am starting to work on music for dressage and rhythm to make it more fun.
OMG, as a mother and a horse woman and a PNHer, I am so inspired. The little girl in me, is crying that why couldn't I have been your daughter. I wish my son loved horses. He loves his pony as a member of our family, but does nothing with him. You are clearly a great mom! Look out Pat, here she comes!
I really enjoyed your video. It gave me the thought to keep things simple and not be so complicating all the time. I wish I had a little girl like you that loves horses.
Good job, I am 13 and just found out about Parelli it's so cool that you found out about it when you are so young, you will be really great with horses when you are older, and I bet you are allready good with them , keep up the good work!
This is my levels horse Vania. She is 17 years old and a very nice horse. But you would be surprised to see how fast she can go extreme right brain extrovert if e.g. she has to go somewhere without other horses.
I don't blame her. I never care what the comments say when I get them: I still get excited. And since she is going to read this in hopes that it is relevant to the video, let me add: Good Job, Jana! Keep up the good work. I wish that Parelli would have been offered to me when I was 5!
I have a five year old son...I am on the path with our horses and teaching him these very things. Really it is something that come naturally....and really can't be taught. Thanks for the inspiration
OMG, that is the cutest thing ever!! What a sweet sweet mare to happily tolerate such a little person! Gives a whole new meaning to the "Seven Games" when actually playing with a child!

Yeah, I agree. Especially for a horse who naturally keeps distance, really trusts you, if you can touch it everywhere.

it's so cute the way the horse watches her as she latches the cables as if to say "are you ready?"

Naww, soo cute.
She almost stumbles at 0.21 seconds so cute.
Maby a smaller pony would be better for her, coz that horse could spook and step on her or something:S
