Can anyone tell me if there is a anime video series and where can I buy or see it; or if fushigi yuugi genbu Kaiden is only a book?! I just finished reading and seeing fushigi yuugi and I loved it! I want to see more of it
When is Volume 10 gonna be out? I have been following Fushigi Yuugi since I was 13. I'm 24 now... the last volume was released in 2009 I think. When are they planning to release the next volume? When I have a husband and kids?!? And Jesus there's still Legend of Byakko for me to read.
@cHiKaDiNg58 i've said this before, but because of Watase's health previously, it's uncertain to when the next volume will be released. I do know that Watase is working on another series ((The Legend of Arata)) which was one of these reasons that hurt her health. I think she is going to finish that before she decides to finish Genbu Kaiden
@cHiKaDiNg58 I don't know the release date yet in the US, but volume 10 was released in japan in June 24 and should be released in Germany in February 2012
only ch. 32 has been released, they still havent announced the release date in North America for vol. 10 unfortunately :(
& Legend of Byakko..sorry to say but watase wont be making a manga for that cuz the love story between Suzuno & Tatara was completed within Fushigi Yugi. The two die at the same time,are reunited in the afterlife. Suzuno's story wasnt completely tragic cuz she didnt get devoured by Byakko (her wishes were all granted except for staying with Tatara)
@happynamine14 technically the Legend of Byakko wasn't completed. The story is the same as Genbu in a way. We all know what happens to the priestess after she summoned the beast god, but what happened to her before she summoned the beast god is what everyone wants to know. All we know of Suzuno before being taken into the book was that she is the daughter of Takiko's first crush
Im pretty sure Yuu gonna do Byakko story depend on if Genbu can continued (It said on volume 7).By the way,I really love the Genbu story then the original Fushigi Yuugi <33333
@xxAnimexChocolatexx although i love fushigi yuugi and probably the reason i started reading genbu kaiden... i have to say that the latter has a better story and have the more likable characters. i love the takiko's personality more than miaka..maybe because she thinks more?? hahaha and i looove uruki gaaah!! i'm so in love with him!! the only sad thing about this manga is that everyone knows the ending!! the miko will be devoured by genbu and etc.. :((
@imyourdrei i've said this a couple pages back, but the manga is on hiatus right now. around the same time this was being created, watase was working on two other series as well. she had to put this on hold because it became too much and was sick. she finished one series, but is still working on the other. my guess is that when "the legend of arata" is finished or when she feels like she can work on both at the same time, that's when the rest of the series will come out.

@rosey9cheeks the manga is on hiatus as of now. Watase was working on 2-3 other series at the same time as Genbu Kaiden. She ended up becoming sick and put Genbu Kaiden on hold. I don't know when she'll start working on it again, but all we can do is wait and support her

@rosey9cheeks probably because the Anime is making a comeback. The series is at least 5 or 6 years old to me and suddenly people are talking about it again. But because it was so popular, people wanted to know what exact happened to Takiko. But I do suggest the original Fushigi Yuugi first.

@myrea07 Nah Suzuno got 'em both beat. But Takiko makes a better Miko imo. Best of all she isn't shown as a gluttonous and ignorant child that Miaka was portrayed as. It's like Yuu decided to grab the few good qualities that Miaka has/had and removed the annoying traits. Same undying will power, same love for a Seishi, same selfless courage.
@fluorspar its temporarily on hiatus. Watase was creating other stories at the same time as this one and because of it, it affected her health. I've heard its coming back in the spring I think, but I can't say for sure

Genbu Kaiden is the untold story of the Genbu priestess that was mentioned in Fushigi Yuugi. This is the prequel to Fushigi Yuugi since the story is based in a time before Miaka and Yui were born
I didnt dare read this Fushigi yugi...Im afraid that its the actual story of the Genbu priestess that is mentioned in the FIRST Fushigi Yuugi-- from the quick summary from the characters that lived through it, the priestess and her lover didnt exactly have a happy ending D: and dealing with Tamahome/Miaka drama was pretty heart wrenching in itself!
this is the actual story of the genbu priestess. though we all know how it ends, it's still an amazing story for takiko. for the most part, i highly recommend you reading this even though you know the ending.
Rimudo is Uruki "name" when he transformed into girl form.Yea the spelling actually is Rimundo but when you wanna speak the name you have to say "Rimudo" lol xD!~
oh what i mean is that,its bcoz i bought FYGK like 2 months ago and im finished reading it up to vol 8, and uruki's real name was "Limdo" then when i tried reading it again online i noticed his name was "Rimudo" so i was kinda confused or maybe its just the japanese pronunciation lol

hikitsu and tomite in the first FY are the same as the ones in GK. the only difference is that the two in FY are ghost from the past and the two in GK were the originals from the past
yea i know that, they only duty they must do after they died is to protect the shinzaho of the priestess of Genbu, so i guess they arent a part of the current Genbu 7, i just thought they got rebirth too.ya that makes sense...
at that point, when they were protecting the shinzaho, there was no current genbu 7 because the genbu 7 were no needed. and even if there was a genbu 7 at that time, they wouldn't be a part of it because the genbu 7 are never the same people, just the same celestial names and powers
oh now i get it, i just start buying the genbu kaiden manga this weekend.i figured it out,, and now i get the story hehe... it was awesome though i wont be tired of reading it over and over again too bad im gonna have to wait until next years spring for vol 10 >.>
umm well actually,, how can i say this, cant give alot of spoilers but its a prequel to the last fushigi yuugi, well when u read the first volume of the manga you'll realize the connection of the two FY. im surprised when i first read the first vol. it was really awesome. and if u mean the girl from starting the video, that's Takiko Okuda
at the moment this is not a tv series. the ova's i'm not quite sure where you could get them, but my best bet would probably be on e-bay. i'm not 100% positive on that though
there isn't a site that explains all of them fully. there might be one for suzaku, seiryuu and genbu, but not byakko. there's not enough info about them yet. we only know 3 out of the 7 warriors

I definitely agree. Takiko is so much better than Miaka (that's just my opinion though). What I like is that she's more of a fighter and she can somehow protect herself.
You just can't spell hot fhe normal way if you defining Rumido, and/or Hikitsu you gotta spell it like "Hawt" Lol

I really love this manga!!!! even though it said the ending in fushigi yuugi...... its SUCH A GREAT STORY!!!

I didnt dare read this Fushigi yugi...Im afraid that its the actual story of the Genbu priestess that is mentioned in the FIRST Fushigi Yuugi-- from the quick summary from the characters that lived through it, the priestess and her lover didnt exactly have a happy ending D: and dealing with Tamahome/Miaka drama was pretty heart wrenching in itself!

this is the actual story of the genbu priestess. though we all know how it ends, it's still an amazing story for takiko. for the most part, i highly recommend you reading this even though you know the ending.

Rimudo is Uruki "name" when he transformed into girl form.Yea the spelling actually is Rimundo but when you wanna speak the name you have to say "Rimudo" lol xD!~

oh what i mean is that,its bcoz i bought FYGK like 2 months ago and im finished reading it up to vol 8, and uruki's real name was "Limdo" then when i tried reading it again online i noticed his name was "Rimudo" so i was kinda confused or maybe its just the japanese pronunciation lol

actually the vol 9 will come out @ november and the vol 10 will be released in spring 2010 so its gonna be a long time for yuu watase to finish this series -_- so we fans need to be patient

and btw, @ 3:48 that was hikitsu & tomite(part of the genbu 7 from the past), did they get rebirth just like what happend to the rest of the suzaku 7?

hikitsu and tomite in the first FY are the same as the ones in GK. the only difference is that the two in FY are ghost from the past and the two in GK were the originals from the past

yea i know that, they only duty they must do after they died is to protect the shinzaho of the priestess of Genbu, so i guess they arent a part of the current Genbu 7, i just thought they got rebirth too.ya that makes sense...

at that point, when they were protecting the shinzaho, there was no current genbu 7 because the genbu 7 were no needed. and even if there was a genbu 7 at that time, they wouldn't be a part of it because the genbu 7 are never the same people, just the same celestial names and powers

umm well actually,, how can i say this, cant give alot of spoilers but its a prequel to the last fushigi yuugi, well when u read the first volume of the manga you'll realize the connection of the two FY. im surprised when i first read the first vol. it was really awesome. and if u mean the girl from starting the video, that's Takiko Okuda

at the moment this is not a tv series. the ova's i'm not quite sure where you could get them, but my best bet would probably be on e-bay. i'm not 100% positive on that though

there isn't a site that explains all of them fully. there might be one for suzaku, seiryuu and genbu, but not byakko. there's not enough info about them yet. we only know 3 out of the 7 warriors

I definitely agree. Takiko is so much better than Miaka (that's just my opinion though). What I like is that she's more of a fighter and she can somehow protect herself.
