I only appreciate this movie because this movie represents truth of the music.

  • What a nice movie this is! I'm only moved

  • I liked the music and video.

  • This helps me think, wish I could have it under the math test

  • Charlie Parker was also in love with this beautiful melody. He even quoted it during one of his solos. When geniuses meet something outstanding happens. Timeless moments of joy and beauty. A musical marvel of the 19th century, here interpreted in his inimitable way by one of the most remarkable conductors of all times.

  • in my 13 years of life this is one of the most beautiful music thing I've ever heard

  • @cuail206 my god that is so gay

  • Brahms is the shit.

  • I like his Hungarian Dance No. 5 more but this is almost as fantastic(:

  • *long note*

    *piece ends*

    *cough cough cough*

  • @Zinlol May I ask what is your problem ?

  • @ROOMMYY1 No problem at all. This piece is one of my favorites by Brahms, and this performance was great. I'm just poking fun at the constant coughing at the end. :)

  • so sad. 27 people don't know what REAL music is.

  • gosh...I am so in love with this.

brings tears to my eyes every time.

  • I was 15 when I fell in love with this music. I am 50 now. I am still in love.

  • @maxstirner777 i was 14...and i'm 14 yet

  • @maxstirner777 By strange coincidence the same with me! Got to know the lst. symphony (at exactly 15 years of age) before the 3rd but the latter became by all time favourite work of Brahms.

  • @maxstirner777 True loves never end!...

  • @maxstirner777 I was 10, now I'm 64. Still in love too.

  • @maxstirner777 Now, THAT's a very moving comment!

  • baby alone in babylone ...

  • great piece of music

  • Da F.E.N.C.E. Men - Massacre

  • J'ai une préférence pour la version de Bruno Walter (avec le philharmonique de New York)

  • This has to be the hundredth time I've listened to this, but for some reason, the ending struck me as particularly chilling this time...

  • @edvsite I understand what you mean. occasionally i "tense" up when i hear it

  • Aimez-vous Brahms ?, Франсуаза Саган 1959

  • To me it sounds a little sad and full of longing - so beautiful and expsressive.

  • is this 4/4 time ?

  • @sal12375 3/8?

  • @sal12375 3/4

  • @BasileusR 3/8

  • @HAlexTraterrestre If you listen to that piece of shit justin beiber, then dont comment on here ok. like really, why the hell did you even click on this anyway? and if you're one of those stupid people who like to make one of these comments like that just to screw with people, then stop, its really not funny. this is great music and will forever beat the shit out of justin beiber.

  • @HAlexTraterrestre best joke ever

  • @Francisaupastis au moins un qui a compris ! ;)

  • Ehem... EHEHEM... AAAEHEHEHEHEHEHEMMM COUGH HACK GAG HAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHH EEEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM oh shit there goes a lung

  • very beautyful! Thank's :)

  • The only reason I know about this song is because of Santana. I really love classical music though!

  • Why do people always say thumb up if you're watching this in 2011?

  • @Seanze329 Because people of this time (2011) don't rarely listen to this.

  • Es preciosa, hace sentir cosas inexplicables... Brahms es genial,y tiene canciones que son unas joyas

  • some people was coughing at the end of the video.

  • I have been looking for this music for YEARS, and now I have finally found it! I missed it so much because the first time I listened to it, it was the year 1998. This is just so divine and mysteriously alluring, like a beckoning finger in the darkness with promises of seductive pleasures, which becomes true, of course...

  • @Hailstormand happy for you

  • @rochelimit55555 yeah, thx!

  • Brahms is the best music for studying. Thanks for posting :)

  • It is said he composed this inspired from his unreachable love for Klara Souman and that resembles much to a sob, every turn is like a deep breath you take when sobbing.

  • @eleanna1978 It's Schumann... you know, wife of Robert Schumann.

  • @GabrielleduVent Yes, I know, I was in hurry!

  • Love this

  • all you fanboys riding Brahm's dick should shut up, I've been with him from the start, I'm a true fan.

  • @leersay So you were born in 1833?

  • I often forget about the existence of this symphony, but each time it pops up on Youtube, I click on it and wonder how I could ever forget something as beautiful

  • Doimg this in my high school orchestra(:

  • @Maddie709N ayee me too lol

  • @SidChastity oh got ya!! thnx for telling me

  • This tune's getting a bit old.

  • I love that symphony :)

  • good sound ! so emotional ! good music! thanks a lot !

  • Jonathan Bairstow's works are actually really influenced by this. He also has a high strike rate. The length in this is a bit sloppy sometimes and he is just generally drifting down leg.

  • sensationnel

  • I agree with HammyLindz. How can people dislike this.

  • it makes me cry. Beautiful!

  • Hey, this is Brahms' third racket

  • @frodho685 Bit of fawlty eh?

  • Bit of fawlty eh?

  • Subbing...

  • I lmfao at this video. what were you thinking. I subbed.

  • GREAT

  • Tout simplement magnifique.

  • it is magic ((((:

  • Thanks for this recording, it' s nice to have a comparison. In which year and where was that recorded, who was the conductor?

    Greets, tis

  • THE CRESCENDO'S ARE EPIC!!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU'RE LISTENING TO THIS IN 2011

  • @frodho685 i watching this every year -.-

  • @frodho685 geat music travel across the time

  • 23 PEOPLE HAVE GOT A BEETHOVEN POSTER ON THEIR BEDROOM WALL!!!

  • @frodho685 What are you talking about? Brahms was a big fan of Beethoven and he said that he would expand Beethoven's legacy, the development of the melodies on the exposition of the sonata form and the symphonic ensemble (tough he wrote only four after 20 years of work on the area of composition, but they are very beethovenians)

Is that some rivalry with beehtoven's fans and brahms's fans? Cause if it exist, it doesn't make sense

  • @valadao I prefer Jonny Bairstow to this but Brahms and Beethoven are two different composers completely. Just look at the nibble Beethoven got in good conditions.

  • @frodho685 actually a wagner one should be more controversial

  • Superb, you have done a fine job of displaying great images with music most excellent. Thank you for giving, to us, your heart of Joy in what is beautiful.,

  • Гениальная музыка!Невозможно найти слов!

  • Sounds awesome :D Cant wait to play it!

  • The most beautiful symphony ever. The illustrations are just perfect. Thank you......

    cj

  • I cant believe people caughing just as the symphony ends..so much for holding up till the end.

  • it sounds like cries and whispers from oldboy

  • I only appreciated this type of music when I started teaching music. Since then I fell in love with anything classical. My students too became hooked up.

  • marvelous*

  • "Aimez-vous Brahms? " is the marvellous film with Ingrid Bergman and Anthony Perkins, made after a novel by Francoise Sagan. This simphony is performed in that film. :)

  • C'est génial! Merci!

  • Aimez-vous Brahms?

  • @CeciliaLucretiaBadea Oui, je l'aime...:-)

  • beautyfull song

  • They're two option for people who are saying that this is brahms who stole it from santana :

-They're joking (And it's really funny)

-Or they're very, but very very (and very...) stupid.

    And i'm sorry for them...

  • @PspWar93 I don't get it.

  • @PspWar93 i reckon he stole it from god's ipod :/

  • @PspWar93 Surely no one is that stupid LMAO

  • This is so good.

  • This should be in a movie. It would make awesome music, full of emotion, hope, wonder and curiosity.

  • @Taftthemusicman

Actually, this musical theme has been used in several movies, such as "Undercurrent" by Vincente Minnelli, with Katharine Hepburn and "Goodbye again" by Anatalole Litvak.

  • i love listening to this in the autumn and winter.. something about this melody that does that to me.. Although it sounds more like a springtime melody

  • Beautifull.

    Song and pictures.

    Paradise visions...Heaven visions and song

  • why the fuck did they have to include people puking at the end? 6:38 LOL

  • @alfrenium They didn't "include" anything. Read the description.

  • I was a ta neighbor's house playing chess, and he had the classical station on. I found myself, while playing chess, trying to guess the periods of the music I didn't recognize. I did not know who Brahms was, and when they announced his third symphony, and started with the first movement, I placed it somewhere around the romantic period and then moved my focus back to chess. Later, I heard this movement, and at some point I couldn't ignore it and I found myself totally engrossed in the music.

  • @edvsite Unfortunately I subsequently lost the chess game due to my lack of focus. :-P I came home and looked this up immediately.

  • YAY

  • One of the greatest melodies ever penned!

  • You just sit and listen in awe..

  • I remember when I first heard this movement I cried in class....course no one saw me, but this is my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!! Aah just so soothing to me

  • Oh, and I can't believe this movement is 7 minutes! Every time the video ends, I'm actually caught off guard...feels so much shorter than it is.

  • I don't actually mind if a recording has a bit of background noise as long as it's not blatantly obvious (such as a coughing choir, heh). I feel like it adds a feeling of...authenticity?

Either way, a fantastic work by Brahms...really beautiful. Thanks for posting.

  • Horn solo amazing !

  • Muy hermoso, simplemente hermoso... :')

  • THIS IST COMMENT NO 512. 5+1+2 = 8, AND IT MUST HAVE BEEN THIS ONE THAT THE CAR RADIO STARTED PLAYING FOR MR ON MAY 25, EARLY IN THE MORNING ON MY WAY TO SWEDEN.. I THINK IT WAS STATION NRK P 1, WHEN THE CHANNEL I WAS LISTENING TO, RADIO P5 SØRLANDET DISAPPEARED AND THIS SYMPHONY STARTED PLAYING INSTEAD.

  • This is Brahms symphony. It's Romantic you see, number 3 movement 3. ABA ternary!

  • The beautiful!!! It's sounds like a music which have used the old Finnish movies. The same dramatic and sentimental. But still so sweet and beautiful.

  • i know its a recording but i cant help but laugh at the cofing :P x

  • When I first heard this it sounded to me as if the instruments were crying during the song. So heart touching...I love it

  • I have no words to describe this

  • @Opera7Star then dont

  • Brahms wrote it with heart for people's heart....and Furtwengler is perfect to kindle the passion!

  • wait is this live?

  • Brahms 3rd is one of my favorite symphonies...oddly, I believe most of my favorite are odd numbers: Brahms 3rd; Tchaikovsky 5th; Dvorak 7th and Beethoven 9th.

  • There's some parts that reminded me of Michael Giacchino's LOST scores. And when I mean parts-- I mean roughly 5 seconds here and there. I'm just such an nerd when it comes to that show that I find pieces of it in everything.

  • Que d'émotions !!!<3

  • omg i love thiiis!!!

  • brahms why were u so sad

  • All of you guys, do you know what song was birth with this Brahms theme ?

Check out Santana's "Love of my life" with Dave Matthews, in Supernatural Album

Hear it and hear Brahm's again...notice some similarity ?

    ;)

  • @ofotopedro man this Brahms guy totally ripped of Santana's song... :P

  • @levi777ish brahms was born 1 century before santana....and ur saying "this Brahms guy totally ripped of Santana's song." but i have a feeling that you're joking....

  • @levi777ish that son of a bitch! haha

  • masterful.

  • Very peaceful:)

  • Bonjour, super !!!! merci beaucoup.

    Franck

  • I like the new motive from about @6:38 onward. It is Brahm's finest work.

  • So beautiful, it hurts my heart.........

  • I know this music from Civilization IV^^

Great to find it back here ;)

  • Ahhh, Symphony 3---my favorite classic....my mother bought the LP record in 1965 and I still listen to #3. Hard to imagine over the years that one day I would be looking at a monitor to listen to this music as well---certainly inconceivable in 1965. What progress as the LP is well worn at this point. Thanks mom for the stress relief this Brahms brings. Thanks for posting.

  • His music is divine. It's above and beyond humans. I can't imagine who would vote down on this music.

  • @mahdadzarafshan I was thinking the same thing. This is so touching and I love it.

  • Me asombra que haya gente que no le guste esta música.

  • This video proves that 19 people who watched it are completely deaf.

  • @HammyLindz Hahahha1!! That's true. Who would dislike this, seriously?

  • This music reminds of all the people I once loved, but lost forever. Heartbreakingly nostalgic.

  • A symphony of small tears that gather to create a rushing river.... I always end up in tears when I listen to the beauty that is this piece.

  • Um, who disliked this?

  • I jizzed. Brahms is my hero ever existed, everytime I listen to his work, it makes me feel both happy and sad simultaneously. I can't describe this feeling, but I just love it.

  • Este movimiento ha sido la mejor dedicación que he tenido, ya que lo compararon con un beso...

  • I love Brahms...I just can say that...

  • love the ratio between like and dislike XD

  • 18 people do not understand the true meaning of music

  • The thriller THE ROSARY MURDERS mentions the 3rd Symphony of Brahms; because of that, the closing credits of its movie version, which stars Donald Sutherland, feature a very poignant love song based on the tune of the 3rd movement.. Could somebody please post it on YOUTUBE?

  • Escuchar esta bella melodía no tiene precio. Juro que podría vivir sólo de música. Se nutre mi espíritu, mi alma, y se irriga por todo mi cuerpo. No necesito nada más. Escucho a los grandes maestros y soy feliz!!

  • Who the hell are you 18?!

  • @MrBallarin23 it's called people who have different opinions than you
