I agree with this >> "I don't see why Serena who's with the WTA player's council, playing for 14 yrs or so, 13 GS, would protest on such rules which she clearly understand ever since."
Some people here think that the victim at the 2009 & 2011 incident was Serena LOL. I think those people who call it unfair won't even consider putting their shoes on those officials who are just following rules and doing a great great job.
Emotions arise alright but it's not proper and it's not right to call anyone "UNATTRACTIVE INSIDE", "A HATER" & "A LOSER". America already had enough of BULLIES. Serena the 13 time grand slam champion still won't apologize to the poor umpire.
@greensharks1 Yeah, some people here are just ignorant of the Rule 26 of the USTA. Including Comment 26.1 under the said Rule. That the code of conduct, as well as penalties, VARY by competition authority. US Open which is under USTA & ITF Rule has slight different set of Rules to other WTA or ATP tournaments.
I don't see why Serena who's with the WTA player's council, playing for 14 yrs or so, 13 GS, would protest on such rules which she clearly understand ever since.
sam should neglect the doubles at least for a while to win more GS , she is talented to win more GS but the doubles tire her. she was able to win us open this year cause she was out of the doubles early
i don't like how the usta edited this perfectly to end right before sam discusses serena coming to speak with her and congratulate her after the match... gotta paint the villain...
@55nollz After three debacles involving Serena at the US Open, the duck is quacking for a whole lot of people. So, it is best to keep negative attention on the person who protested the "unfair" treatment in situations that seem more and more unlike coincidences..
This was a great year for Grand Slam winners on the womens side. I love Kim Clijsters, I love Li Na, I love Petra Kvitova, and I love Sam Stosur! 3 of them were first time winners. Great for them!
Such a delightful person - and fantastic athlete. I've always believe that her beautiful game could get her there - very happy that it happened for her here in the USA. Here's to many more Grand Slam wins for Sam!
@robplakers what a nonsense you won't even make me start on this don't you? ...okay i'll try short version...just how many great champions i know that love tennis that never act like that? okay here we go Steffi Graf is first on the list, Martina Navratilova second should i continue? aren't they all dedicated tennis champions? aren't they in love with tennis? ...
@Summon256 at the 2009 US Open.. there is nothing I can say about that.. However look back and see what happpen to Serena at the 2004 US Open..
And do you know who is John Mcenroe... thats all I can say!
Serena didn't say nothing bad to me.. that umpire mad a bad call.. and plus she cheated Serena and Venus out of a point one time when they were playing a match.
@robplakers I agree with you. Starting with 2004, there have been three incidents that involved questionable calls and selective enforcement of the rules that "disadvantaged" Serena. The 2004 debacle was perhaps the one that set the emotional response for the others.
I can imagine she was in disbelief on this occasion and felt that she was, again, shabbily treated. Emotions arise in that kind of instance. Yet, Serema is made a villain for protesting seeming unfair calls.

@robplakers not necessary to send me anything...i know how her carrier maintained very well...and that 2004 accident has nothing to do with Eva being racist or holding some kind of grudge against Williams...itys just unfortunate consequences of events thats all...i do not say that judges like ALL the time right, i'm talking about these particular moments...also i've heard people talk sh*t about henin cheating etc (and most of the time its Williams's fans...)...
@robplakers oh and i miss Clijsters...Clijsters who has like the best personality tennis ever had? almost in ANY cases calpping opponents, giving her cheers etc...always smiling giving complements and kind to everyone...

@MARiiOMUSiiC The match would've been talked about regardless of Serena's pretty over the top and unnecessary outburst because she would have still lost and to a player who played a great match! Why can't people just admit when someone was wrong? I am by the way #Teamtennis! I don't agree with any player behaving in such an unprofessional manner given they are supposed to be role models to the future generation! The officials are doing a job and pretty well in my opinion!
Sam Stosur, you played on Court 11 once, two on Louis Armstrong Stadium and three on the Grandstand. You fought into your second Grand Slam final, and in your first appearance of the fortnight at the biggest tennis stadium in the world on Ashe. And you put together one of the cleanest, most aggressive matches in recent memory to beat Serena Williams. Congratulations Sam!
T shirt and no make-up- still looks so cute! love u Sammy...

@Summon256 What T'm trying to say is that.. That 2004 US Open may be the reason why Serena gets very emotional at times.. especially at the US Open..
Serena congradulated Sam, and have now moved on.. So am I.. I hope you do the same.
