  • @875109725710 ? turbo means power without adding weight of more engine. A lot of manufacturers use forced induction to make power. The gtr was meant to be fast, not be a drivers car or whatever. And japan can make a powerful car. Honda won a lot in their almighty F1 car, destroying Ferrari with a 1200hp turbo manual drivers racecar. Toyota is in F1.How many F1 wins has the USA got? ... Yeah, I thought so. Not hating US cars, but give credit where its due. gtr & viper are 2 diff. markets.

Yes, the americans are good at Lemans- but not when there is a very competitive race in F1 where every little thing counts exponentially more than in Lemans. Forced induction isn't 'cheating' or anything; its a open market.

If you sat, 'take away the turbos' from the gtr, then I could say 'make the viper have 3.8L' If the gtr had the same displacement as the viper, it would have over 1000hp easy in stock trim. I know all about modified cars and tuning, I have developed a new kind of turbocharger myself. For example, search : v12 supra. It gives the Bugatti a run for its money. Would be cool to see that and the hennessey go head to head.

    Hennessey is ok but for forced induction on Vipers, FGT, Lambo's there's better options out there like ART racing, Underground, Heffners ect... A Viper doesnt really need forced induction to make big power, just a few engine upgrades on a Gen 4 model will get it to 700+ hp. You're "avarage" turbo built Viper or Lambo G will put out 9 to 1500+ HP which is more then enough to take down anything on the street and run crazy fast times at the track.     I agree with you, American cars are very difficult to drive on the edge, which is why this test totally sucks ass. If CarAndDriver really wanted an all track test for shear capability, i.e. not worrying about how "difficult" a car is to drive on the limit and replacing that opinion with how "rewarding" a car is to drive once you understand it's limits, it would be a more fair test.

  • I'm pretty sure the viper beat both the vette and the GT-R around the Nurburgring. Most car reviewers don't like the viper because it doesn't try to rub your dong with creature comforts, or give you tons of help around the track. You actually have to be a good driver to keep the viper under control. It's like the old AC Cobra, light weight, tons of balls and no help.

  • @masonizere 40K? the 2009 sold nation wide at a avg rate of 93k. The 2009 GTR baseline was claimed to be 70k. But was sold at a rate more like the mid to high 80k for the better version. The price really wasnt that big of a difference. The breaks and stock tires do suck ass though, you got me there.

  • @bluedavenger LOL Kelley Blue Book is a company which buys used cars. So yes it would cost around $95,166 but brand new they where going for $105,700 for the base model 2009 ZR1 without the optional package and without chrome 20-spoke alloy wheels.

  • @23BITO Ermmmm i think your easily mistaking if you knew anything about the car you would know around on OFFICAL lap times the GTR beats all these cars apart from the acception of the ACR since its a purpose built race car just which is barely street legal...
