Eu uso atualmente o mandriva, e tenho amigos que estão usando o ubuntu e o open source, mas o sistema operacional linux é muito melhor, dá de goleada no windons, pena que as pessoas ainda sejam alienadas.

But its not for the average joe.

But its gotten a lot more user friendly then it used to be and a lot more powerful!!!

The only reason Windows is more common is because it is easier to use and people are dead afraid of the command prompt.

I bet that 80% of all windows users have never even typed a single command in their entire life!!!

As the economy gets worse and worse computer developers will ship all computers with Linux preloaded on them. xD

Linux is Great if you don't ever wan't to play windows games. That is the big disadvantage of linux for some users. People want to be able to play their games.

mhmm, im a twelve year old girl and i use linux on my desktop but have windows on my laptop, im redoing my room so i dont have a desk right now and my desktop isnt plugged in so i have to use my laptop, having to use windows makes me want to kill myself! with linux, i havent ever had to wait over a second and a half (seriousely at most) for anything to load. and i know how to work gimp, and type commands and stuff, its only "harder to use" cause theres so much more you CAN use.

Well windows isn't THAT bad but I would hate to have it as my main OS.

Linux is cool because it is a lot faster then windows and it never crashes.

However there are a very limited amount of games for linux and "WINE" is still being worked on.

This means I have to use Windows as my secondary OS when I want to play games. :-/
