I bought the Taurus 1911 (not aluminum) based on the recommendation of my local gun store. Mine came with the Taurus wood grips which really look good. I was really surprised how accurate the gun is and after 1500 rounds (various brands) not one problem. It is a terrific gun.
BTW.....for anyone interested, Larr's Pistol and Pawn in AL (google) is one of the largest Taurus dealers in the USA. They are running a special on this model of $449.99 as of May 2011. I just bought one from them. It can't be beat at that price.
I have the same gun and I love it. I also have several other Taurus pistols and I have never had any trouble with any of them. I carry a 24/7 PRO Compact .45acp, my wife carries the TCP .380 pistol. We also have a PT111 9mm for home defense. WE shoot all of our Taurus guns at the range once or twice a month.
@artemerysr that's good to hear. yeah taurus has gotten a bad rap in the past but i think they are definitely well worth the money and good quality. I got my eyes set on a Judge next
i was also a victim of that internet generalization of combat trigger and combat stuff...lol its really called heine sights ang ventilated trigger if its taurus' way of naming their parts.
My Dad's got a PT1911 SS that he uses for daily CCW. It's a great gun. I had one once, but it was one of the first they produced and I had some problems with it and ended up trading it. Even though I didn't have the best experience with Taurus doesn't mean I'm going to not consider them. I think they make some great firearms and have some of the best deals out there. Mine was just a fluke and I definitely would consider getting another Taurus. Great video, man!
Taurus PT1911 is a good gun, I was going to get that exact gun but then I saw my Springfield and fell absolutely in love. I might go ahead and pick up one of these too though.
I don't see why Taurus has so many haters, they make some good guns. You know how it is on the internet though. People on the internet say the Glock .40 is going to explode too... bunch of BS if you ask me.
Anyway, good review bro... nice price on that PT by the way.
Ah no problem, good vids you got on here. I'm going to mention your channel in my next video I record... let all my subs know about it. I don't have that many right now, but I think most of them would like your channel too if they don't already know about it.
Anyway... yeah 1911's shoot great in general, very accurate and fun to shoot. There's not many 1911's I came across in which I didn't like the trigger on them, I guess that's what almost 100 years of engineering gets you.
Hey Chiselchest !! It's a skeletonized trigger NOT ventilated. Also those sights are 3 dot combat NOT Heine straight 8 sights. Learn a little bit more about the subject when you decide to review next time.
@nosaj762 Well first of all if you listen to the beginning of the video I clearly stated it wasn't a review because I wasn't an expert. Second maybe we should forward your comment to Taurus since all the information I mentioned came straight from their website were indeed they call it a ventilated trigger and Heine sights. Maybe you should be the one to gather a bit more information before making un-educated remarks.
I love 1911's. I had always wanted one then a buddy of mine sold me his Kimber Tactical Custom II at a steal of a price. It replaced my .40 under my pillow lol

A full size 1911 seems to me to be too large to easily conceal for CCW. I would be interested in the type of holster your Dad uses to conceal it.
