@ShadyVlogs And you didn't notice that BOTH are on WiFi? The Hero is a painfully slow device. It was Alltel's first Android but painfully out of date when they got it.
o.k. had this phone for 2 weeks now .. nice phone . only thing is , i need to calibrate the touch .. i'm still adjusting to the way you touch everything, text ect.. but if i can figure out how to calibrate it for my sense of touch .. that would be great .. this is my 4th touch screen .. its a nice phone .. i have movies, pictures, music, ect on this phone .. love it .. BUT I MISS watching LIVE TV using SKYFIRE .. come on skyfire .. step it up ..
@PiPerson95 Lol if you wanna wait a year. That's like telling someone not to buy a new computer now because 3 months from now there's going to be nicer computer parts. Well no shit.
@XombieJer I meant because saturnvue24's contract is done in like a year, so s/he should wait until his/her contract is up before getting a new phone.
@XombieJer THIS is the biggest fucking problem with Alltel right now.
I want a new phone. My HTC Touch Pro has turned out to be a piece of shit. (Built like shit. Runs like shit after you install your apps, etc.)
Well WHO do I buy from? Alltel has SHIT for phones. (Hero is only good one right now.) Verizon is going to AT&T in my area... So I have to wait it out and THEN buy a new phone when I'm Verizon and Alltel is no longer in my area.
Fuck it. 1yr contract for now and HTC Hero. *sighs*
It depends completely on WHERE you are. Various segments of the Alltel market are divested. They are only LEGALLY owned by Verizon. Some parts of Alltel may be sold to AT&T while some parts of Verizon will be sold to AT&T. In my area, Verizon customers will be AT&T - and at the same time, Alltel customers will become Verizon. The customer base is just being rotated.
This is all subject to change, too. Which leaves us all going, "WTF?"
@XombieJer nope xombiejer....verizon bought a lot of Alltel markets, but for some legal reason (can't remember what it's called) they had to sell off some so AT&T bought them...
got this phone last week .. very nice .. i would not recommendd this phone to novice users .. there is a lot of features and androids are a new market .. you will need time and patiencce to learn how to operate this device .. but once you do .. you will love it . some features do not fully operate, due to android being a new market, upgrades and apps are added weekly .. so everything will be good to go in a few months.. i like this phone .. glad i have it ... so far .. l.o.l.
Alltel officially annouced release date .. HTC Hero Android 2.1 CDMA .. in stores Thursday May 27, 2010 .. now i need the extended battery ... and a case that will fit with the extended battery ...
getting htc hero android 2.1 cdma ... WHY ?? because its the first and only droid offered by ALLTEL .. hope its as good as blogers and alltel reps. claim .. i heard and read many good things about new hero android 2.1 .. we shall see this week, when i get mine .....

I want this phone so bad but my contract isnt up for like another year, how much would it be without contract???
saturnvue24 1 year ago
@saturnvue24 It would be $429.99 without a contract. But if you wait another year, there will be even better phones.

what does he mean most alltel markets are becoming at&t, correct me if i'm wrong but he means verizon right?
XombieJer 1 year ago
@XombieJer well alltel is going into at&t.. not verizon
themixyman 1 year ago
@themixyman Verizon bought Alltel. Google it, how is alltel going to at&t? That doesn't even make sense, why would a GSM carrier buy a CDMA carrier?
XombieJer 1 year ago
@XombieJer no no i think you mis under stood me. at&t bought out alltel. i also believe they bought verison but im really not that sure
themixyman 1 year ago
@themixyman Oh nevermind I figured it out. Verizon bought the majority of Alltel and AT&T bought portions of it.
XombieJer 1 year ago
@XombieJer Verizon sold parts of Alltel to AT&T...
