In my experience, what he said is absolutely correct, programmers from all parties should look at the source code, and also compare the ballots to the computer numbers. I am a computer security pro, worked on voting systems security in the past. What he says seems believable, although I'd argue his assertion that it could not be detected. Perhaps he doesn't know enough to know how it could be detected, or perhaps he is being sloppy in describing his assumption that the attempt to detect it would be half-hearted and unsuccessful (which is my belief).
Perhaps this is a good time to get on top of voting systems security?

Important to note, this happened around 2000-2002, but what has happened since then? Kudos to Curtis for having the courage to talk about this. In my experience, what he said is absolutely correct, programmers from all parties should look at the source code, and also compare the ballots to the computer numbers. If most people had any idea how easy it would be to change the election results through the computer program, they would INSIST that all parties look at the source code.

Whereas the republic in athens was only elected by a few distinguised nobles, our republic allows for all citizens to vote for their representatives. Therefore it qualifies as a representative democracy. I am a computer security pro, worked on voting systems security in the past. What he says seems believable, although I'd argue his assertion that it could not be detected. Perhaps he doesn't know enough to know how it could be detected, or perhaps he is being sloppy in describing his assumption that the attempt to detect it would be half-hearted and unsuccessful (which is my belief).
Perhaps this is a good time to get on top of voting systems security?

@GraniteBurner This looks like 2004-2008. (Stephanie Tubbs Jones, who spoke at the hearing, died in 2008) This also looks like a congressional hearing in a smaller government assembly building. Simply find out when Representatives Boyce and Pfeiffer were both in the committee for a hearing on election fraud in the past 6 years and you should be able to find it.
