I wish I still had the optimism and faith and innocence that I had when I first heard this song. But these past five years, living on my own in the world, have left me bitter, cynical and cold. I have seen a darkness, and I have lost much since then.

Things will never be the same. I wish I could believe in the promise expressed in this song, but faith is hard for me to muster these days. Still, there is the hope that I can still live the life I used to dream of when hearing this song.

I don't quite understand what you are saying. First off, I believed in God's promise that He would fulfill the desires of your heart, and for me that was a wife. But the longer I lived out there on my own, the more jaded and bitter I became, and my faith grew cold. I ended up just sleeping with some girl because I thought I would never get that life with the woman of my dreams, so why does waiting matter? I learned that it wasn't worth it the hard way.

Um ok what do You mean the hard way. I know exactly what your going through and I commend You for not waiting. Listen don't be cold against GOD but remember that Men and Women wrote the BIBLE, and while I would probably ask GOD out rightly why He made women like this in the video and wanting to be commitment based while We Men are Tribe Bearers. You have to remember that the likely hood is that women wrote that part of the BIBLE where it calls on Men to marry before sex.

dude, the Gospels were written by men, btw, and they condemn adultery and fornication. the commitment thing is because the purpose of sex is to, surprise, have children. and then when one has children, one's supposed to raise them well and studies show that parents who are committed to each other (in Matrimony, in most cases) raise kids with the least problems.

Studies do show that children that live with both Mom and Dad do work better but you don't have to be married for that, dispite what modern Christians will say it is fine just living with someone, no stings accept for the child attached.

The way I back that last comment up is with this example, Look at female creatures all across the Earth. Female spiders eat their lovers after mating, female praying mantis' slice the heads off of the males while mating and then after word eat the male. A bird known as the Orendinki has this mating ritual, the male and female mate then the male shells out and takes a nap that's when the female comes up and rips it's heart out and eats the heart. With out marriage that would probably be US.

Believe in GOD because He Loves You and this that Your going through is simple another test, don't hold out for marriage. You can be perfectly happy without it, and I know that could have some adverse effects, and I'm not totally saying that after sex the woman You made it with will cut out Your heart, or cut off your head for not committing to a relationship with Her, but You never know. Find Your own way, and make it just You and God, any women you meet and make love to let it be with that.
