Good fighters like Chicco, Salvador sanchez died young, but had the heart of champions and many people around the world. With their never quit style, all guns blazing.. rip x
Tragic. Was wild as some great boxers were. It's funny me and my friends who fought all share the "bad" traits chico had. Like Joe Souza once said "If you want to start boxing, then you must be fuckin crazy!". R.I.P Chico.
why judge man just let it be and he had a good heart people make mistakes and the problem with people like you is you judge this man from one incident that happened do a little research diego had a good hard and was a good man so before you judge someone know them as a whole and dont feed off one thing........
I was devasted when I heard the news. May 7th is my birthdate- I will always remember him. Chico was such an inspiration and truly a special person. He was one of the few rays of light in a sport that is truly going to miss his presence. It was, in fact, an honor to watch him fight. I have and will continue to pray for his family. Rest In Peace Gentle Champion.
I have followed Diego for at least 10 years i admired him and cried when he passed away i know most fans are full of it but i speak from the heart most so-called fans have none him from the great fight with castillo but i have been a fan for years.
I just found this page by dumb luck. This is terrible news. He was a terrific fighter. RIP! Now I just found out by more research he was riding the same bike I own. Absolutely Horrible! Diego watch over me please.
As a true fan of boxing one MUST tip his hat to the warriors of the game and when you speak of such you must include this man. He simply embodied all of the qualities that you love to see in a boxer. He had the grit of anyone with grit. Win or lose he ALWAYS put his all into his fights. Boxing is now better because Diego Corrales laced up his gloves. Boxing is now in mourning because his gloves will never be laced again. Thank you 'chico' for trailblazin'!!
Sorry about his passing away. Best wishes and thank you for clarifying that, Im pretty sure he's in heaven waiting to put on the gloves just for fun with Castillo. Good friends.
He was all American with two sides...Puerto Rican American and Black American. And hey, he was born in America. I should know. He was my nephew. I want to get the record straight.
yeah i bet you are way more sucsessfull than chico ,, I bet chico spent his time surfin you tube like you (not) fuk u you looser, you couldnt hold his dirty jock
Wrong!!! He was half mexican and half black. I should know. He was my nephew. As far as a dumbazz, you are probably right. He was chip of the old block...his dad and my oldest brother. I just wish I could have known him personally. The last time I saw him, he was just a baby in diapers.
WRONG. Diego was not your nephew. It's amazing how everyone wants to be related when your famous but don't know you when you don't have a damb thing. You should be embarrassed to posting this trash. Chico's mom & dad of almost 30 years
I know of many people like basketball players, preachers, and so on that lead "ungracious" lives. However, they turned their lives around and are now millionaires and are doing great works in society. If YOU are not doing great works...and if you need for me to define what that is...I will. Go out and get the message to these "gang dumbasses" that there is a much better life for them, since yours is so clean. Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone.
He (Corrales) along with Arturo Gatti, Erik Morales and Evander Holyfield are the only fighters in my eyes who gave every single ounce of their lives any given fight night inside the ring in the last 20 years. A terrible tragedy. My prayers go out to the family. Had problems but Deep Down inside he was a Great Guy, Softspoken and Humble fighter. RIP Chico. May God Bless You
thank you for the great compliment on our son Diego. He was so much more than people ever knew. He was a great study when his dad was teaching him at age 3. MOM
He was still half Mexican and half colombian I just found out when they actually added this to his biography on "wikipedia . org" on his "Early Life" Second paragraph.
Wrong!!! He was half mexican and half black. I should know. He is my nephew. Before anyone does a so-called biography, maybe he, she, or they should probably ask the right people before doing it to get his other half. True, he may not have wanted anything to do with his real father, my oldest brother, but hey, not many of us did. I just wish I could have know him better since the last time I saw him, he was in diapers with his mom and dad.
Oh well whatever Ethnicity he was the point is he was a good boxer. R.I.P. Ma bad if he aint mexican or colombian i just know he was latino fuckin wikipedia!
That fight with castillo, watching that 10th round him getting up off the deck like that twice and knocking castillo out made me teary eyed, he was the type of guy that would die in the ring b4 quitting, i thought that was gonna be his fate, after fighting clottey it was clear he should retire, and when he said hes not retiring i was thinking he was gonna go and keep fighting and die in the ring, he took a lotta punishment in his career for his age. RIP chico
We had been talking to him about retiring after the Castillo fight, because it took alot out of him. Chico always wanted to be remembered as one of the best of all time which is why he always fought the best out there and he fought with all his heart. He always wanted to make sure that his fans got their money's worth and they did. I never thought that anything would happen to him in the ring. I just figured he would eventually retire.
it was definitely time for him to retire after clottey, it was clear he had taken too much punishment in his career, even though 29 years old, he'd taken the punishment of a 40 year old fighter, because he wasnt ever afraid in the ring, he didnt mind getting hit, he always put on a show, never in a boring fight
One of my favorite boxers of all time. This was a man with tremendous heart, skill and determination. He epitomized the notion of a man who would rather die on his feet than live on his knees. You will be missed CHICO! R.I.P.
