A grt tut mate , jus Wana ask .. I hv bn given an assignment on a face I hv to unwrap, polypainting on zbrush apply normal n spec map and sculpting, I hv finished Modelling the face now m super confused dono Whr to start from I mean what is the first step ? Import to zbrush n Hw do I gt a high poly model on zbrush ?
Is polypainting like ptex in mudbox? Should you build a UV map first before you do this and then bake in a polypaint texture afterwards say using maya? I'm just not sure exactly how you keep your texture if you'd like to use it in a game or outside program. Zbrush is new to me so I don't quite get how it all works. Looks cool though pretty life like.
@x900lbGorillax1 Yeah you should build the uv map first, you can do that in zbrush also. When you paint on the model in zbrush it bakes to a texture map, which you can assign. If you didn't manually assign uv's zbrush will automatically create a map but it won't be optimised.
Thanks for the tutorial. I found it quite helpful :)
I don't mind the fast moving mouse or your talking speed. I was able to catch the information I needed without being bored to death ;) Anyone who is having problems with this vid should check out a "INTRO to Polypaint"
Can't wait to get home and try out these techniques :D
The video is too fast for understand something. It acts like a time-lapse video more than a tutorial video because you paint/action too fast, have little explanations about the tools you used, and you talk really fast too.
At least have some explanations about what brushes you used, why paint there with specified brushes etc. Me eyes and ears are so tired to catch your actions, and have no time to understand what you are talking and doing. It just like watching Bob Ross's lessons.
@3DSgeek I saw the trailer clip for that on The Gnomon Workshop and he might be doing it the same way as I do it. But I haven't even watched through those DVD's or anything so I haven't blatantly copied him or something. This is just the way I do it.
