Los periodistas Daban por sentado que MAYE BRANDT no haria Gran cosa en Miss universo, pues en aquella epoca era imposible pensar que un Pais podria coronoarse dos veces seguidas, pero MAYE decia que todo era posible. 2 semanas después de este concurso (julio de1980) apareció Graciela La Rosa en portada de la Revista del Domingo 2001 (de Venezuela) y en su titular afirmaba "Yo pronostiqué el fracaso de Maye". En el reportaje de rigor en las páginas interiores, en el titular, afirmaba: "Por razones políticas Maye no figuró en el Miss Universo".

Maye Brandt apareció luego en una entrevista de la revista Venezuela Farándula en cuyo titular afirmaba "No me importa, sigo siendo reina en mi país y punto".

This 1980 Miss Universe was hosted in Korea. Host has the responsibility to show all contestants fairly and equaly. But it is obviouse that Koreans want to show Korean contestants longer and ignore Japanese contestant. Ant their mind was clearly expressed in this film.
