@hanala86 I only use "microwave safe" stuff. and while plastic may not be ideal, it's perfectly fine as long as you don't leave it in there long enough for it to start melting.

If I'm going to HARDBOIL an egg I want to hardboil it in its shell. Not dry poach it in a microwave. The reason I look up how to hardboil an egg in a microwave is coz I want eggs in the shell, softboiled with toast soldiers for breakfast. Once the shell is cracked and the insides taken out, so far as I'm concerned, its not a hardboiled egg anymore. Its poached.

Actually, I found a better way. I use my convection oven (but you can use any oven). 325 for 30 mins and you don't have to preheat the oven. Then put the eggs into a bowl of ice water so they stop cooking. Came out perfect!

@osaize There's no luck involved at all. You see, I knew what was going to happen which is why I had it under a heavy glass bowl. Even without that it would not have done me any harm because one egg just does not generate that big of a bang. The main reason for the bowl was so that I wouldn't have to spend a week scraping egg off of the inside of the microwave oven.

i didnt evan know about this and i just came bak from skool 2 day! and i was hungry so i got some cold boiled eggs and i wanted 2 reheat them so i put 1 in the microwave and like 30 secs later i hear this load boom and im only like 2 and a half yards away from the microwave and i turn it off and opened 2 c my egg and it looked totally smooshed and it just spred all around the cup i put it in but wat i dont get is that it was already cracked their were no egg shells at all and it still exploded!

I managed to boil 4 eggs myself. 50 seconds where enough for them to be done. But then I stoped boiling eggs on the microwave when finally one exploded. It didn't make any damage, but the boom really scared me :)) ...Oh and of course I had to clean the mess (since I didn't used any glass boll) and I also had to live with the smell for a while.
