Imagine the advantage the Soviets would have had on the battlefield if they'd developed silencers and subsonic ammunition and mass produced them for guerrilla warfare in Urban settings for the M91/30 or SVT-40. They had both available to the NKVD but I guess too expensive for standard infantry.

Although the SVT was not a favourable sniper, it did have a more powerful bullet but a lot of bullet drop.

The best rifle in WWII was the M1A1 Carbine, it was a box magazine with a folding stock which is perfect for airborne ops and has great range for long distance engagements with also a large mag to shower those who pop around the corner at close quarters

The US had no place in that battle , and didn't WANT any place in it. The US wasn't exactly the cream of the crop for the allies either , despite the hype. That would be the British and the Canadians :)

I feel especially sorry for those who walked the path of blood and steel to Berlin, that when they returned home to the USSR were interned and badly treated. @SniperFido I bought one from Big5 for $100. It is stamped 1943, and it isnt a great rifle. They selected out the best rifles from the production run to be used as sniper rifles. The accuracy of they typical MN is lost after the barrel heats up from firing a few shots.

He prepared a 170 sniper which together killed more than 3,000 German soldiers and officers .

@199leg The common german soldier did nothing such as you said, my grandpa actually told me that he would rather be occupied by germans than russians, the SS did kill many civilians and yes, they weir innocent but the SS does not connect to the german main army. The loses of the civilians raise higher than the army thats true, because of what hitler told the SS, around 12,700,000 dead which is horrible. but in the army, around 10,000,000 soldiers died, i was mistaken when i said 1-10, it is 1-2
