I love to shred out to anything metal. my band is in the works to start forming demos, and I am trying to find some software programs that would work for programming our stuff onto our computers to burn a cd off. I was just wondering, what is the best software you have used and prefer? Please let me know what your preference is. Thanks!

@ssjdustin Sure no problem man. Well I have a Mac because I do software development but I think most people use Windows. So on Mac, I use Logic Express. But as far as platform-independent stuff goes, I prefer EZdrummer/Drumkit From Hell for drums. I was wondering if I upgrade to EMG's 81 and 85, will it be a huge upgrade in sound quality?

Well I can't say for certain because I've never used those pickups. It will probably make your guitar sound louder but an upgrade in sound quality usually comes from upgrading your amp.

I disagree there. I've got a mashall mgdfx100 amp. And my old guitar sounded like shit, it's a Fender squire affinity strat. 5 weeks I bought a Shecter HEllraiser deluxe. That guitar actually has the 81 and 85 picksups and it sounds so sick. And alot better than my old guitar did. The distortion is MUCH cleaner and to top it all off the tone is the sickest thing ever.

Seriously, POD's r teh suck and the majority of players will agree. It's not only their fizzy, boxy distortion that sucks, but they make other instruments ksuc when in with the mix. But for bedroom guys, I guess they're serving a purpose.

Yes, I agree. My Marshall sounds infinitely better than my Pod, but personally I don't think the Pod is too bad. I have spent a bit more time with it and gotten a better sound these days but yes it's still not perfect. The reason I use the Pod is because as you mentioned it makes bedroom recording a lot easier.

wat programs do u no of for recording besides audacity because audacity is rather hard to record with.

are there any programs similar to garage band or something that are available for pc's?

The only one I know of that's free is Audacity. But if you are willing to pay there are plenty out there. They are called DAWs. You can use Cubase, Reaper, etc.

I actually didn't have that problem. All I did was just record the audio and the video, and then I just put it together using a movie editing program (Imovie for Mac) and there were no synchronization issues.
