  • wow

  • 3 Dislikes?!... it doesn't matter. In an alternate world, this video has no dislikes.

  • We're all a little nihilistic inside.

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • Vote Owlman/Rorschach in 2012.

    "It doesn't matter."

  • Super Woman the best girl friend ever

  • It was never explained why Owlman wanted to destroy everything and why Superwoman decided it was ok. The explanation on this vid isn't enough. If Owlman wants to destroy everything then that includes himself and SuperWoman. What's the point of destroying all reality? Even Darkseid wanted to rebuild reality after destroying it; as did Brainiac. But Owlman? I can't figure it out.

  • @transdrole I'd say he simply just hates mankind for its being inevitablly corruptible and self-destructive. Superwoman... perhaps she just finds a determined man overly attractive.

  • @Dariendel Misanthropy.

  • @transdrole There's really nothing to explain about what goes on in Owlman's mind. He's a psychopathic nihilist who truly believes that life has no logistical meaning and needs to be terminated at all cost. Perhaps I'm doing enough research on the character, but nihilism seems to be a case that's very difficult to explain and understand.

  • @JesusServant62191 Its not that hard, its just no one in fiction has yet to present Nihilism in a way that doesn't come off as a psyco's last resort. I am a Nihilist and i am fine. In fact i live my life knowing its all going to end eventually anyway so i just enjoy the ride while it lasts. So what if life is meaningless, its not the end of life, just live life your way, don't let the government tell you how to live. If you want to do it go for it its your life. Simple :)

  • This is not a comment.

  • Owlman: It doesn't matter...

  • dont worry.

  • It seems like a scene from the watchmen.

  • is james woods the voice of owl man?

  • @tylrlist eeyup

  • @tylrlist

    Yes it's James Woods.

and Gina Torres is the voice of Superwoman

  • It's pretty powerful. No action you make would ever mean anything as another you would make an opposite of it. That is any action but to destroy it all. You're quite the villain Owlman.

  • As odd as this may sound, I love it when series go into "Earth Prime". Not just this one here, but Ninja Turtles did it as well. It's like a subtle reassurance that somewhere, someway, the impossible is possible, and the Universe is a little bit more fun.

  • They are made for each other.

  • owlman seems to have a deep hatred of humans so i will say the people who did this cartoon touched on subjects like misanthropy,nihilism..deep things...''might is right'', ...this cartoon was deep.

  • @bornschizophrenic I don't know if he truly has hatred. I always figured he was disapointed in mankind as if nothing he does really mattered, or even better, had any meaning. It's in our nature to suffer questioning our reason of being and he kind of wanted to play god there. To really have meaning on something he couldn't just destroy the universe. He had to erradicate reality itself.

That's my opinion for what is worth anyway

  • @Khafleim well if he wanted to destroy the universe and all of humankind then if you think about it Owlman was being misanthopic, not only that life has no meaning.and probably the people who made this cartoon are haters of humankind and are nihilists.

  • @bornschizophrenic In the multiverse there are multiple versions of you. All making the opposite or slightly different variation of the choices you make. There might be a universe where your parents never met and you were never born. Ultimately, what is the significance of your existence. At the end of the movie Owlman was trapped with the bomb and just simply smiled saying, "it doesn't matter" before the explosion. He knew there was another Owlman that stopped the bomb.

  • @Azraelseraphim yes i know i watched the movie.

  • @bornschizophrenic Wait, this is from a movie? I thought justice league was a series. I'm willing to spend an hour and a half of my time on this. But I'm not going to watch the entire series.

  • @ReX342 This is justice leage crisis on two earths. And you should check it out. Its fucking awesome. Along w/ adventureland on cartoon network

  • @Arenzoj On it. Thanks!

  • @ReX342 yeah this is an animated movie based on DC characters...called justice league crsis on two earths.

  • @ReX342 you know you're funny, you ask me a ? but at the same time you're trying to be malicious..don't i see the shit you're pulling.

  • @bornschizophrenic Not trying to be malicious. Saying time is limited and sharing my priorities. Some things don't make the list. I saw the movie now (it did make the list) and now I'm inclined to find some time for the entire series (which was not the original intention). I'm also looking into adventureland.

  • Why have they made her voice sound like she is Black? It does not fit - idiots!

  • @NIETZSCHEAN14 to me it sounds white.

  • "An Atheist can still be a good person". What do you mean by "good"?

  • I wish I had a psychopathic sexy super-powered woman to help me with my plans to destroy existence.... psh..

  • good. girl. lol

  • What is the point in bringing, and soon becoming, nothing if you're not even going to be aware of it after? Some one forgot to take their anti-depressant today.

  • @Markis2bi4 lol exactly my thoughts

  • The real tragedy is that Superwoman truly loved and supported Owlman. His utter Nihilism is what prevented him from truly reciprocating her feelings. He's more similar to Batman then you'd think.

  • Unfortunately for Owlman, all of existence does not revolve around Earth. Good try, though. He would at least have succeeded in destroying every Earth with that one.

  • @ButanoKaabii For some reason, *HUMAN ARROGANCE!, cough cough* Earth is the center of every multiverse in the DC universe. That's pretty much the only reason the planet is important. So if Earth goes, everywhere goes.

  • Owlman's just an angsty Batman. "If I can't have parents...NO ONE WILL."

  • what show is this from ?

  • @dawsonoo7 It's from a DVD, "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths".

  • Comment removed

  • And this is why I'm glad steven hawking is a fucking paralyzed cripple... because multiverse theory hurts objective reasoning and purposeful existence.

Also ZofTheWise fails at nihilism. He's confusing nihilism with moral relativism. That's what gays and democrats are for... nihilism is the belief that the world is dark and meaningless, yes. But it is up to us to give it meaning.

If you want a positive view of nihilism, watch the Gurren Lagann anime.

  • @JimProfitCommunist a multiverse doesn't effect your ability to find your own meaning for your own life.

  • @JimProfitCommunist No... he got it pretty much right... in a very general term of speaking. He equated atheism with moral relativism a little bit, but by no means did he describe nihilism with any definition that is similar to moral relativism.

  • Owl-Man still fails in explaining how killing everything is a purposeful action if nothing else has purpose...he's truly crazy! It's just like my instructor at school arguing against corporate and government corruption, yet she has the nerve to tell her students that there is no objective moral truth. Whenever I made her aware of her dilemma, she couldn't respond and just went back to teaching the lesson. If Owl-man really practiced what he preached, he would've let Bat-man foil his plan.

  • This whole plan that Owlman has seems so Cryptic. He would destroy all Earth-Prime to kill all of humanity, I wonder how that goes for all other planets.

  • Well he is an Existential nihilist thinking than humankind itself is completely pointless and meaningless. He is a also a psychopath wanting to practice his philosophy to the extreme.

  • If I was banging Superwoman I would NEVER destroy the universe lmao

  • Owlman's experience of existence is from a narrow, human perspective where only one reality, created by one set of choices, can be known. To think that the only solution is to destroy all of existence because we, as humans, are limited in our scope of understanding it, is the equivalent of an amoeba blowing up the Earth because he is angry with his lot in life. Dude thinks he's SO meta...

  • @angryevili Nihilism is pretty broad, even if it's based off of our human understanding. Owlman also happens to be misanthropic, which the reason why he chose to go after Earth Prime was for misanthropic ideals. He even stated to batman that Humans were the cancer of their reality. I believe he was smart enough to know that only the existence of their reality would be destroyed. Aside from that, I doubt he had a narrow understanding of reality in general seeing as he knew more about the 4thD.

  • A QED device.

  • anyone else feel like this is bordering on reference to Watchmen, just these two characters really, i mean com'on he's Owlman, and she's dressed in black and yellow with her hair like that... i'm just saying its kinda blatant not that its stolen or they should say something

  • @demondays7 The comics this is based on are older than watchmen. A one minute search on wiki can prevent you from looking like an idiot

  • @moviegrapevine all i said was they were similar, i didn't say one was stolen from the other

  • @demondays7 Fair enough, my bad

  • What's nihilism got to do with this? The character is a nutbar, but could just as easily be a nutbar christian or humanist or stamp-collector. It's just not relevant.

    I'm a nihilist and I'm a lovely guy.

  • So they're okay with killing themselves? wtf

  • yo james woods owned this part

  • @PeRobKlan I never claimed atheism was a religion, that would be ridiculous. There are, however, atheistic religions. Like buddhism, or state religions like the mythology surrounding Kim Jong Ill. The star wars universe Jedi philosophies are also atheistic religions.

  • @PeRobKlan No, you're misunderstanding. To a Nihilist nothing matters. They believe that existence is pointless and that there is no afterlife. Only nothingness. Yet Nihilist still have beliefs. The belief -in- nothing. Get it?

  • @ZotTheWise ...IF none of the things that might exist do exist then it follows that there is nothing. Nihilism doesn't require a positive belief.

For the most part, nihilism doesn't mean you don't believe in "anything" for that matter, though some would claim the notion of existence is 'absurd' as in 'lacking higher meaning'. Most of the time it only refers to things like purpose and morality.

  • Owlman pretty much steals the movie.

  • James Woods at his best

  • how does the reality of all things follow? different minds excrement wasted lives, while others attain supremacy? In the spectrum of effects- does he want to transcend humanity? and surpass what is the norm?

  • Nihlihism includes not believing in any image and this includes images like...you are a friend...you are a brother...you are my mother...this is the earth and that is the sun...That is true nihilism for me...one that does not think he knows anything as it is untill he maybe dies or maybe not...not even those words come in his mouth. U wanna go nihilistic then go balistic!

  • Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is the philosophical doctrine suggesting the negation of one or more putatively meaningful aspects of life. Most commonly, nihilism is presented in the form of existential nihilism which argues that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

  • Moral nihilists assert that morality does not inherently exist, and that any established moral values are abstractly contrived. Nihilism can also take epistemological, metaphysical, or ontological forms, meaning respectively that, in some aspect, knowledge is not possible, or that contrary to popular belief, some aspect of reality does not exist as such.

  • The term nihilism is sometimes used in association with anomie to explain the general mood of despair at a perceived pointlessness of existence that one may develop upon realizing there are no necessary norms, rules, or laws. Movements such as futurism and deconstruction, among others, have been identified by commentators as "nihilistic" at various times in various contexts.

  • Nihilism is also a characteristic that has been ascribed to time periods: for example, Jean Baudrillard and others have called postmodernity a nihilistic epoch, and some Christian theologians and figures of religious authority have asserted that postmodernity and many aspects of modernity represent a rejection of theism, and that such a rejection entails some form of nihilism.

  • This isn't nihilism. This is just the rhetoric of the destroyer.

  • "Destroy the entire universe? Meh aslong as Im with My baby" *swoons*

Now THATTT ppl... Is what u call a RIDE OR DIE CHICK!! lol

  • Correct me if i am wrong here but owlmans theory while compelling would create a paradox. If the opposite thing happens in another universe and he is successful in destroying earth prime then wouldnt in another universe somebody stop that eventuality from happening?

  • @mrcheesesmith No, since failing to destroy the multiverse would leave no impact on the multiverse, while succeeding would destroy ALL multiverses, even the one where he failed. Which brings us to this interesting point: since Owlman failed in his mission, wouldnt there be created another world where he DID succeed, and thus - following my above statement - destroy all multiverses? Thats practically also the reason why he didnt bother freeing himself at the ending of the movie.

  • @zerakielvmark Based on Owlman's theory, no, since he failed on Earth Prime. Any reality where he succeeded would be another non-Prime Earth. Though it's likely based on that theory, that he DID manage to destroy the equivalent number of current existing universes. So, essentially, any reality where he succeeded destroyed a multiverse, just not Multiverse Prime, therefore allowing our pleasant little omniverse to keep chugging along, even if it ends up being somewhat leaner as a result.

  • @mrcheesesmith Notice you said: "if".

  • she's beautiful

  • @healingpowerofGod Indeed. Although I'm actually not into beefed up athletic woman, I think superwoman is very hot. Even the fact that she's taller than owlman makes her kinda sexy. 0:18 looks like she's gonna rape him, though lol

  • superwoman is so hot

  • "Someone to care for. To be there for. I. Have. James Woods."

  • would owlman be considered an atheist?

  • @Kingdom007Hearts Nah, nihilism isn't exclusively atheist. You can have religion and still consider existence pointless or unnecessary.

  • @klauspark And if fact, if your religion includes predestination, what Owlman says about "every choice we make being meaningless" applies there, too.

  • @Kingdom007Hearts No. An Atheist is merely someone who does not have a religion. Owlman is (as the title suggests) a Nihilist. A Nihilist believes in nothing. Absolutely nothing. An Atheist can still believe in things... such as self-interest or even self-created morals and ethics. An Atheist can still be a good person, but they don't worship anything. The true Nihilist worships nothingness.

  • @ZotTheWise Equally true is that an atheist can be amoral (i.e. some scientists) or statists (some progressives). They can also fall into two camps: pugilists (i.e.combative against religion or spirituality) or humanists (i.e. belief in social justice). In the end, people, atheist or otherwise, make their choices based upon his or her life experiences, as well as his or her education levels.

  • @ZotTheWise A 'true' nihilist has no specific boundaries, no specific 'commandments', no creed and no dogma, there's nothing to say he worships nothingness. Nothing owlman says in this scene suggests he is a Nihilist (in fact, quite the contrary). Atheists may also have a religion, like buddhists, they simply don't believe in a deity.

  • @ZotTheWise i'm a devout catholic and i don't like messing with other people and their beliefs. if someones an atheist then so be it, its their decision. i have a few friends who are atheists. but i do not tolerate nihilism and satanism. especially satanism.

  • @NinjaRed5000 Satanists are Christians.

  • @Craydon corrupted christians. people who fall for dumb lies

  • @NinjaRed5000 really? So why do you "not tolerate" me?

  • @inquisitorMence if you are in someone's face about it then yes. if not, then i can respect that. but satanism is out of the question

  • @inquisitorMence Yeah but that goes for pretty much anything I would think. Nihilism alone isn't hurting anyone, and for the most part, neither is Satanism. Not any more than any other religion at any rate.

  • @NinjaRed5000 just think in other universe Christianity never came to be. or Satanism is one of the most powerful religions while christianity is a frowned apon minority.

Billions of people have died in the name of God. in only about 6 to 60 people died becase of Satan. not 60 billion or thousand or hundred. just 60. which ones really evil here.

  • Or even more into retrospect. What if there was a world where people never existed but instead a different type of organism entirely, perhaps an evolved form of cats that resemble humans like on Third Earth in Thundercats. What would exist in that world or would anything exist at all as we knew it? What if religion took on a whole different persona rather than what we define between Satanism and Christianity? Or what if religion never existed at all. I wonder how would it be like.

  • @devildavin glad i ain't in those worlds!! lol jk jk. yeah i understand what you're saying man.

  • @ZotTheWise Exdeath: VOID!!!

  • @ZotTheWise Actually, "atheist" means "no god". They can be a member of a religion.

  • he's Thomas Wayne jr. batman's alternate older brother

  • Why would superwoman even go along with this? Shes not a Nihilist! She loves money, power and dominance!

  • @granpapi29 Actually...I think she is the opposite of Owlman, but in a very extreme way. An existentialist who eagers for ever pleasure, feeling, thought and whathell she can get. She exists on thrills, and the thrill of helping destroy all reality, even herself, would be the ultimate thrill she can get. Owlman sees it as the only thing that will be significant; Superwoman experiences so much things she wants to do something that stands out.

  • @zerakielvmark yea she's a sick bitch lol

  • Now that's a true "Ride Or Die" bitch right there!

  • I'll never understand villains like this...

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster You and me both.

  • I wonder if the Marvel Earth is in there somewhere

  • Superwoman is an extremely seductive person. If she were Japanese she would have made a great Anime Porn Star

  • This evil version of Mary Marvel is quite nuts. The Made Men were the Marvel family and Mary's doppleganger is Superwoman.

As to the nutty Owlman, well.......

His plan wouldn't work. He wanted to kill off reality, but there are a few odd ball realities.

  • Though it's contradicting in that Owlman is giving himself a purpose when he stated that there is no point to his existence; even if he were to take his life, that would be giving himself a purpose in which he has no need of.

  • Wow. Interesting. lol

  • Keep in mind folks that Owlman doesn't even care about destroying himself.

  • I thought it was interesting how Owlman was a Nihilist Batman was a Humanist (althoughgenerally he's probably teh least humanist of all the DC Superheroes dispite also being the closest thing to a human), how it was Batman that was like "Fuck the multiverse, saving this world is hard enough" and Ultraman was like, "Fuck the Multiverse, ruleing this world is enough.

  • is the goddamn Owlman

  • Superwoman, you do know that when Owlman destroys all of reality you die. Of course Owlman too but he doesnt care. Are you dumb?!

  • Superwoman maybe evil... but she's Sexy as Hell!

    Thanks for posting this video.

  • wouldn't destroying reality still be meaningless?

  • damn so this is what bruce's mind is capable of destroyer of reality not just worlds.

  • I just realized something: Why isn't Owlman compared to Mad Stan more often/at all?

His plan essentially boils down to "BLOW IT ALL UP!" Mad Stan would be proud.

Speaking of, I wonder what Owlman's Mad Stan would be like...

  • Assuming that this earth prime exists, (a ridiculous notion) how does he plan to destroy it if he isn't already there?

  • @zacthebold he does find it in the movie.

  • just destroy the universe that has the star wars prequels

  • Owlman is tapping that.

  • owlman really needs to get laid.

  • @VagrantNoName

Have you not seen the self-declared murdering psychopath that kissed him? I think that was taken care of long ago

  • @okamireader5

I'm making a reference to these self proclaimed nihilists.

When other people think of nihilism, they think those types need to get laid.

  • @VagrantNoName

I wa just making a humorous point LOL

  • batman even the alternative batman is the best

  • Wait a minute... Why would destroying Earth Prime destroy all of reality? It's already been established that there is life outside of Earth in the DCU, so, if Earth Prime being destroyed causes every other Earth to be destroyed, wouldn't everything and its alternate versions outside of each Earth (save for everything that wouldn't survive the explosion within said blast's proximity) still survive?

Then again, Owlman did only complain about humanity, so perhaps he isn't considering other life...

  • @RandomQuestions I think his bomb is capable of blowing up the entire universe, not just Earth. I think he's using it as a label for that particular reality.

  • @RandomQuestions hes insane, a broken weakling. It is sad though......he never recovered. Unlike Bruce, this guy stayed in hell.....and in the end, perished.

  • @lobofaca707 he sees the world for what it is an tht nothing matters so he makes the only real possible choice, but is a lil man fighting the never ending battle not seeing how truely fractured humanity he prentends lik hes the only sane 1 dressing up in tights an a bat suit every night he even recruited kids on this mission he doesnt kill because he doesnt wanna be as bad as everyone else but everyone he puts in prison just breaks out an kills again the never ending circle

  • lol, those american supervillains.. always making plans without any common sense or reason XD

  • @Mysticsloth Was that an insult meant to offend or a joke meant to entertain?

  • @Jaquan1254 50-50 ; )

  • I'm watching this clip, thinking Superwoman's voice sounds so familiar and then I realize that it's Gina Torres! Lovely voice casting there.

  • i wonder who im dating in other parallel universes.. ^.^

  • damn. I think I just converted to supervillianism.

also who the fuck ARE these people? and what's this movie/show? how is there so much superhero stuff slipping under my radar these days?

  • @JustThink00 The movie is called "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths", and the two villains are Owlman and Superwoman (they're kinda like alternate universe versions of Batman and Wonder Woman).

  • Something tells me Owlman's movie library includes ANTICHRIST, IRREVERSIBLE, and CHINATOWN.

  • @caioenzo. Youre a little off with your logic. DC comics subjegates the term "earth-#" to an entire universe, but that ended in Crisis on Infinite Earths in '85. Since then the main stories have taken place on "new earth" , the sole existing reality, until the return of 52 new universes to the multiverse during Infinite Crisis. So the evil characters are based off earth-3's crime syndicate of amerika and the justice league we know are almost always the new earth versions.

  • I think i see an error in Owlman's calculations: if he does manage to destroy earth-prime, all parallel earths will be destroyed, OK. But what does the entire universe or reality itself has to do with earth? Our earth is just a single planet, not the center of the universe, on the contrary, when earth dies, reality and the universe will go on.

pls reply if you have a thought on this matter, thx.

  • @caioenzo If all you interact with is humans and the earth, then for your purposes the earth is the universe.

  • They're like the perfect evil couple.

  • There is a parallel universe where i did not write this... but i did... what if i dont press enter?... but im goin to... here i go... 3... 2... 1... did i create a parallel universe yet?

  • @elmarulian well you didn't create anything xD :D you just did the thing the oposite you didn't do :D

  • Owlman reminds me of the evil guy of G-Force.

  • For some reason, I picture all the nostalgic characters we grew up with are going to be offed by this guy.

  • wow, he must be the life of the party, he said sarcastically

  • ORLY?

  • Night Owl+Ozymandias

  • Clicked like and wrote a comment. Boom! 4 universes. Owlman is a great villain and he sits along side Joker and Black hand in my favorites. If you have stared into the void like this... or don't. It doesn't really mater.

  • Just because he lost to Batman doesn't mean that another Owlman succeeded. He says the other Earths are created when there is an opposite DECISION made, losing to Batman isn't really a decision it's a consequence of his decision. The opposite decision is that an Owlman from another Earth decided not to destroy the multiverse.

  • This is not philosophy.

  • If Owlman is right then there should be an infinite amount of OTHER owlmen traveling to HIS universe to try to destroy it.

  • by his logic theres a earth where he made his bomb and actually succeded. so there is no happy ending really

  • @metalmurcielago

Xcept that would not be Earth prime.

  • Hey. If both Joker and Owlman are the direct opposite of Batman, then they are not the opposite. A fact proven by Owlman's nihilism.

  • The descruction of Earth Prime wouldn't have meaning because no one would exist after its descruction to recognize the loss.

  • @starlitwisher

    Does it matter?

  • So... Owlman wants to destroy the Multiverse because he never watched Star Trek???

(Google: "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations")

    ... Fascinating...

  • The Owlman feeds at midnight...

  • Such a cute, socio-psychopathic couple.

Thank God they never had children.

    Oh. Wait.

    I mean thank Batman.
