It says in The Bible, spare the rod, spoil the child, and its funny how America is going against that, were supposed to be a nation of God. You have all these organizations, saying its wrong to discipline your child by popping their ass, they consider it "abuse", well when that child gets older they will walk all over you and abuse you, nice going America.
Theres a difference between terrorizing and discipline. Were you ever punished by your parents? My parents weren't the best parents, but they were perfect in my view because I love them, I'm sure most people feel that way about their parents, but if they felt I needed to be punished, I got it. Today I don't hate or disconnect from them, I respect my parents, and I'm not walking all over them treating them like they wait on my every command hand and foot either.
@EverWinterNights, if you "discipline" people of any age with violence, they don't learn anything except to fear you. I'm sorry if you were hit by your parents; it's unfortunate that you think you needed it. I hope you don't have kids yet and that you'll reconsider the role of violence (not to mention the bible or any other book written by savages) in raising people.
@Piotrek127 We are supposed to fear our parents in a way, like we are supposed to fear God, fearing God saves us, if we fear him enough we don't sin. Just like if we fear our parents enough we don't get into trouble. If we aren't saved in the end, we go to hell, thats more violent than anything, life and the afterlife is all about violence, try to deny all you want my friend. The word Discipline is derived from Discipleship to Jesus. Now, are you christian or not? Believe in God or no?
