@SuperDanish111 It's a close call. D90 if you have older non-AFS lenses. D3100 has AF during video and some newer guts. I own a D3100 and not a D90, but it could just as easily be the other way around.
@TheSnapChick I have paid for it at Jessops. I prefer to buy it from a shop encase anything goes wrong I can take it straight back. I originally bought the canon 1100d and took it back a week later to get the d3100, have I made a good choice?
Thank you for the video! I bought my D3100 August 16th I think of this year and so far I Love it! I also got the Total kit and it came with all of that. I bought It in Costco for $779.99 WITHOUT TAXES! I personally think it is a great deal! I will definitely be Subscribing to your channel. Thanks again and I have one question as well: Have you worked with "Macro" lenses? Because I am interested in buying one but not sure which one? Any Suggestions?! :D
Only found out the Nikon D3100 is 14.2 Megapixles, And My Digital Camera is 14.2, the only diffrence is, The lence, And the settings on the camera. But i still badly want Nikon D3100 :)
@MegaSuperShark If you're comparing to a compact digital camera, you will find a very significant difference in the image quality as the ISO gets higher. ISO 400 and above with a D3100-sized sensor will be much cleaner and higher image quality than a compact sensor. Not sure if you're shooting with a compact or DSLR now, so I can't give you a better comparison than that.
@wesoakes you can use almost any filter on any camera lens. the size should be what is "listed" on the front lens cap. Nikon lens caps are marked "LC-XX". In the case of the 18-55 kit lens, it's marked LC-52, which means you'll need 52mm filters. Other lens sizes will use different filters sizes, like the Nikkor 70-300 which has a front lens cap marked LC-62, which uses 62mm filters. Other manufacturers will mark their front lens caps differently, but usually the number is the filter size.
@bernhardtsen74 This camera is really good for price, Im very happy with it, small, light and powerfull. I will buy some pair of lenses before upgrade. And yup, you are right, pixels its a number that means size, not quality. And gratz for your new toy!
@mkba95 Great idea for a video! I'll add this to my list. Those modes are a great way to learn how to "think like the camera" because you can observe the settings that the camera uses when you select those modes.
is there reaLLy a NEED to change LENSES? :))) cuz i'm reaLLy confuse ii HOPE soon you'LL making a VIDEO and this time it'll be aLL about the LENSES thanks :)))
@TheSnapChick I was looking to buy that or the 18-200mm when I get some money saved up, I think the 18-55mm is fine for most indoor shots but on new-years eve when my family let off some fireworks outside I quickly found out how much a longer zoom (mm) would have come in useful.
@myfaceback100 Hi! What's funny is that Adorama had the best price for this particular kit, bag or no bag, compared to their competitors. I did find good use for it, as I set up both bags for "on the go" setups, one with my D2x for "on the go studio" and the other with the D3100 for "on the go fun." Bodies come and go - lenses are better investments. And with the "entry level" as feature packed and responsive as the d3100, it's easy to get a lot of camera for less money.
This is the video we SnapChick fans were waiting for. You got a bunch on new stuff to play with. Can`t wait to see the video about the D3100. And the D3100 as i said before is a HUUUGE upgrade from the D3000 A to Z :) . I`ll buy my next DSLR (hopefully the d7000 or d700) from USA! Why? Just because of the price and the bonus items (the camera bag for example). The D3100 is 730 $ here with the 18-55 kit lens..
@TheSnapChick Im a video guy, I guess something for News Promotions. I make promos for an NBC affilate, and Ive seen some of the crazy depth coming from dslr's. My friend has the D7000, we shot some stuff on it. I guess my main question is whats the difference? Thanks!
@AdurianJ I always tell people - read the manual, mess with the camera every day for a month, then read the manual again. It definitely helps to know your way around the camera to get the most out of everything in the manual.

@lew1310 There can be some really good info in the manuals. There is a shoe cover and an eyepiece cover, but also two magnets that I think are for cable shielding, perhaps for a video cable.
I got something else that's small and you can sink your teeth in... oh wait

@TheSnapChick Well, best lenses period..
HenryFord61 2 months ago
@HenryFord61 My best combination of lenses for DX cameras like the D3100 is the 17-55mm f2.8g, 35mm f1.8g, and the 70-200 f2.8g (FX lens).
