I dont understand what there is to like about this. I adore August and Everything After, and Anna Begins is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time, but THIS performance of this song, sounds only vaguely like the song everyone learned to love as it was on the album! You can't even follow it or sing along. Very dissapointing... :/ Why change such a great song?!!?

@taylorgeorge1123 I agree 100% I always owned alot of Counting Crows CDs and loved them - Music fades though and has a way of coming back - Well recently I started listening to them agian and ended up on youtube looking for some live performances - I was literally shocked to find out I could not find a SINGLE song that sounded anything like what is on thier CD's and I can not stand that in musicians and now im frustrated with his live performances. Id' never go see this live.

@taylorgeorge1123 actually I think every live version is better than the original, and this one is maybe the best that i've found. I love that album but when adam sings on live is something..perfect in his imperfection and his changes to the song

@taylorgeorge1123 This song is over 16 years old. Can you imagine how boring it would be for a band to play it the same way for 16 years? I have been lucky enough to see Counting Crows twice live. I think Adam Duritz actually sounds better live. He breathes new life into every song and makes it fresh. If you want to hear their songs exactly like the album... then stay home and listen to the album. This is perfection!

Ever since my first listen of August and Everything After, Counting Crows has been my favourite band. And no other band has come alone since to knock them out of that position. Adam Duritz is such a fantastic writer. Everytime you listen to one of their songs you can find a different meaning in it. And he has the best emotional voice!!

I do feel his style, and his emotion is surely genuine but sometimes I just feel like he got it right with the album vocal melodies ya know? It would just be nice if he did a couple songs more like the album...maybe thats just me though.

Anyone notice that one of the underlying riffs at the end ("kindness bangs a gong, moving me along...etc") is the same notes played in a different rhythm as the opening riff of Round Here?

Adam expresses more emotion in his songs than so many artists that it's a shame we haven't seen more from him over the years. The Crows' first album actually bled and teared every time I put it in my CR player............true emotion..........like a real "Mr. Jones' album", huh?
