You have to light the candle first though, or you be crafty and toss the candle in a fire.

@IvarHuisman the flames would not just touch the wick but the entire candle. and you touched the candle to throw it into the fire in the first place so not as crafty as you thought.

@kudosdc flames aren't made of plasma. the flames you see is just light ,while plasma is a state of matter. a candle just vaporizes the parrafin into the air . lightning is an example of plasma, but normal flames are not

If you measure the same line around, and use smaller "sticks" you would eventually get the right distance, 500km distances are just far too large. If you did use molecules, you could figure the size of the molecule and there for find the correct distance. just use the same line, a circle can only have one circumference.

@hypermonkey13 You're the dumb ass. Flames aren't made of light, they are made of hot gas. Even if the hotness spread at the speed of light (we've already established it's not light itself) a sensitive enough camera would see a faint blurry glow along the path where the hotness spread thru.

Aww, I was anticipating that you'd light all three candles with one touch, as in each of the three candle's wax vapor would combine into one single stream and then the flame would fragment alone each separate branch and reach all the candles individually.
