@Macapala You're so right. I have every album Guns n Roses ever released and i personally think the only really amazing song that is well-known is November Rain. Nobody knows Locomotive, Dont Cry, Breakdown, Rocket Queen, Dont Damn me, Nightrain, Esranged and i could go on for 20 songs. its a shame, If more people would know all those songs they would have been so much more famous. Imo these are the best songs ever made.

Dude, I love all of appetite! I never said I didn't! I just feel that the songs are WAY to overplayed. It gives the impression that Guns N' Roses was only those songs, when they were SO much more. They weren't just Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine, or Welcome To The Jungle, but they were Patience, Estranged, Coma, Locomotive, Back Off Bitch, Dead Horse, November Rain, etc! Guns N' Roses is the last true, great rockband. And I'm happy Axl is still kicking ass today.

I have overplayed GNR way more than any radio station has, and I'll never get sick of them.

Learn some instrument, you will quickly hear a whole new level to their music (and probably understand why a lot of people value the true GNR, over the new one).

I play both guitar and piano, and I grew up listening to the Old Guns N' Roses. I know each and every song by heart. I do love the songs, and I love to listen to all their music. I listen to Guns N' Roses all the time, that includes Appetite.

And I do understand why some people believe that. But personally, I prefer the new band. They have much more technical ability, and are just as good as the old band. I don't know why people have to fight over it and why they can't appreciate both bands.

And yes since i picked up a guitar about 5 years ago all guns songs have revealed multiple other levels to me that i other wise wouldnt have known about. Who says understanding something takes away the magic? It makes music all that much better.

The new guys play with more logic and scales in their heads. That makes them more technical players. If you think that means better music, than that is your opinion. Following that logic, you should think GNR are crap and Mozart, Ravel, and Hadyn are 'real' musicians.

I'm partial to the Slash years because you can almost hear conversations in his solos.If anyone can make it seem like their guitar is personified, it's Slash.

No i wouldn't say being a technical player makes you create better music. although having that kind of proficiency can't hurt when writing music(not in all cases). i'm also partial to the slash years, he's basically the reason i play guitar. but i also give credit where credits due. those new guys are great at what they do. overall Slash era were amazing but i also really like the new stuff, not all of it some of the heavier tracks are a bit naff but the ballads are great.
