ghosts of mars is easily the worst movie i have ever seen. worse than route 666, worse than a sound of thunder. its an embarrassing, thoughtless, story-less, ill-conceived, flat attempt at a showy sci-fi romp. all it boasts is cardboard characters with no depth or background, who need to explain things to each other that they would already know, so that the viewer would understand. not to mention the flashback within flashback storytelling for lack of any better approach.

@whythehell99: I liked this film too, even though the critics hated it. Joanna Cassidy, the woman mining engineer who touched the doorway and unleashed the martians from the cave, also played in another intersting Sci Fi film, Blade Runner. She was considerably younger then.

I wonder why they never made a sequel to The Ghost of Mars?

Personally I'd refrain from making any connection between Ghosts of Mars and Blade Runner, because I don't think Blade Runner can be put into the same B movie status.
