  • This song makes me feel like I’m at one of critical moments in my life when I have to make a decision of weather imma stay with the sheep or rage against the machine.

  • Im 17 years old and im originally from Afghanistan but I love RnB and especially Marvin Gaye's music! too bad they dont make this kind of music anymore.

  • sounds like I want to make this song as (Make me wanna ROCK AND ROLL) But that title is also better :3

  • he was a great singer too bad his life and music was cut short what a loss!!!

  • Mesmerizing song. His voice hypnotizes me, even my little kids were quiet and awestruck when the song was playing.

  • I Love how Marvin sang about real life issues.....the same things are happening today. The artist of today will never be able to match his level of talent....4:30 at the end of this song proves that

  • Marvin Gaye had a voice that resonates with me. His message is more relevant today than it was when he wrote it. This man was a visionary. Plus, he was so damn smooth!

  • Zodiac!

  • i remember being at Occupy LSX and sitting in a starbucks in the City a couple of weeks ago and this song was playing. the place was full of bankers in fancy suits. it made me laugh to know they had no idea what this song is about.

  • @PENMAN168 You actually wasted your time with that occupy crap?

  • @WehrmachtLuftwaffe well a lot of them are anarchists, and being a socialist it didn't sit awfully well with me. but its a move for social change, which this song, which you clearly listen to, is about.

  • @PENMAN168 I know what this song is about. I've heard it many times. Along with the rest of the album. (Which I own.)

  • @PENMAN168 Starbucks--where fancy-suited bankers and trendy-"alternative"-folks congregate to drink over-priced coffee.

  • @PENMAN168 LOL hahah so awesome

  • classic ghetto music

  • Ok, I loved this album, specially this song, but I don't know SHIT about soul, funk, or anything this is called. Can somebody please suggest me some album, band or musician that sounds like this? Thanks.

  • I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS SONG!! AND I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!! YES!!! XD!!

  • try mercy mercy me by marvin or the temptations ball of confusion

  • This song should be the anthem for those railing against the "1 percenters"!!! How astounding this song from decades ago is relavent, very relavent in today's world. Seems as though as much as "things change, they remain the same"! Make this the anthem for those who speak out against the "1 percenters"!

  • Marvin spoke the truth of the time which in reality is still happening today. Screwed up or not, this brother was a poet!

  • THIS SHOULD BE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.

  • @antjuanoden ....LMBO ....!!!! u r crazy....lol

  • 14 dislikes? Wait. What?

  • GOD BLESS MY BROTHER LOVE ALWAYS

  • Im from PG Maryland 1 minute from DC and I love this man music

  • Totally 70's!

  • Marvin was way above his time. His music talking about stuff going on in Today's world. Marvin was Bad. Just tell me why so many great musicians personal lives are Jacked up?

  • @MsMarcina I think it's because they get so used to turning up their personalities on stage that many of them forget to turn them down again once they leave it.

  • @MsMarcina...I think it's because being able to reach so many on such a personal, emotional level takes a deep understanding of what people go through; the joy, the pain, success, failure. Marvin was no stranger to all of it. Have you ever listened to his song titled 'Flyin High'? Powerful!

  • @sirsadi Yes, I have heard and Love Flyin High! It is a Deep kind of song that I like. Marvin had such a beautiful voice. His music is still relevant today. I will say Flyin High is on my MP3. Its just that Marvin, Michael Jackson, Elvis, R Kelly all great talent but jacked up Personal life. Success comes with a price!!

  • @MsMarcina because music comes from emotion it comes from feeling.

  • @MsMarcina because music comes from emotion.

  • @MsMarcina Most art is birthed out of pain. Most beautiful things are..

  • @MsMarcina

Don't you know that we are here on this earth to stand up and fight the evil that is in this world, and if YOU do decide to stand up and speak (sing) about this evil, the enemy both physical and spiritual comes against you.

    Blessings.

We ain't giving up the fight.

  • @MsMarcina cos you want to make music if your were happy.

  • 14 people make me wanna holler. (There! My first dissin' the dislikers comment!)

  • This is 1 of my favorite Gta songs lol....

  • Life. Life. Straight...yesterday,today and tommorrow. This song is life. I remember this when I was little. My uncles singing it in tobacco fields while I worked along side of them. I was oblivious to what stress was in the ways they were.To what this song's meaning was. But in this day and age..this rings true still. Wow...I love the foresight and insight on Marvin's songs.

  • Dolphins Head Coach Sparano sent out a spirited message to Dolfans-He said he needs you all at the stadium 2REPRESENT & that the team needs your support & undying loyalty-He finished up with-We're going to get there (GET THERE-WHERE? DAMN-iT) one way or the other-I hope its with you but we'll do it without you-What do you think about his message? Will you be cheering on the Fins @SunLifeStadium this season-Sound off here @WPLG Your responses will be read on WPLG Local10 News @6am "BELiEVE"

  • THIS GUYS GAY! NO PUN INTENDED!!!!!!!

  • @jsportsconvo ok look your comments are pointless, Marvin Gaye is Dead and has been for a long time now by his own Father. So basically you sound really retarded. If you can't appreciate good music and just say ignorant dumb shit then why bother clicking on the video and watch it?

  • @blu3violet roses and red, violets are blu3, go back to your hole you stupid jew

  • @jsportsconvo . . Was I supposed too be offended? I'm christian dumbass

  • @blu3violet wow how could u use such profanity on a video filled with so much history. This song is one of the greatest spirituals of all time. Im sincerely dissapointed in your judgement. Who would do this? your going to hell.

  • @blu3violet wow how could u use such profanity on a video filled with so much history. This song is one of the greatest spirituals of all time. Im sincerely dissapointed in your judgement. Who would do this? your going to hell.

  • @blu3violet I'm shocked that you would use such profanity on a song that has so much history behind it. Marvin would be ashamed in you. In fact god will too, your going to hell. This song is one of the greatest spirituals of all time if not the greatest and you still had to be immature and use poor judgement. On behalf of the entire "Marvin's Gaye Appreciation Society," we say FUCK YOU BITCH!

  • @jsportsconvo Agreed. We can wave goodbye to him on the way down :D

  • @blu3violet Hey whats up with all this Marvin Gaye hate blue violet? He is a very smart, spiritual, and Gaye man and if you cant appreciate him than all I have to say is... "i hate being gay." So grow up and get some class you doofus

  • @blu3violet hey just think about how bad this would sound and curtis mayfield if they had used synths instead of real strings

  • @elvispresley718 I wouldnt even have an idea, but to be honest I dont remember commenting on this video so forgive me. it was probably a family member using my account lol

  • THIS GUYS GAY! NO PUN INTENDED!!!!!!!

  • This is the guy I saw in the gay bar last week!

  • @jsportsconvo U A PUNK FOR THAT COMMENT UR PUNK ASS IS GAY

  • U WAS IN A GAY BAR OH BOOOOOOY

  • @AHWSR72 You fantasizing about gettin broke of in a gay bar again huh!

  • This is the guy I saw in the gay bar last week!

  • marvin gaye... more like marvin lesbian!!!! hahahahahahah lol

  • Such a timeless classic. Its hard for me (especially in my generation) to imagine a time when popular music was melodic and artists possessed talent and originality, and listening to artists such as Marvin Gaye was part of the norm. Popular music has degraded so much over the years, and even though I don't want to be a typical hipster fag, a good average of our modern mainstream music DOES suck. The only decent current music lies in the underground, sadly.

  • God know's where we're headed.... !!!!

  • Legend.

  • Dah, dah, dah, dah

dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah

    Dah, dah, dah, dah

Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah

    Dah, dah, dah!

I'm sure when we all get to this part we sing it and do a two step with a right and left slide

  • @11940ful NO ONLY THE GAY PEOPLE!!! LIKE MARVIN GAYE FOR EXAMPLE!

  • @jsportsconvo Your are the greatest idiot i see on youtube...

  • backliners got it going on.great feel.

  • real r&b what a legend !

  • Now this takes me back to 12th street in the D back in the 80's.

  • I was only 6 years old I remember listening to all of Marvin Gaye's music growing up. What an incredible artist he was, just think if he was living now what his career would be like!

  • I Love it.

  • its ashame when you type marvin gaye in on google, the first result is marvin gaye and chardonnay by big sean.

  • Wowww. This is too great.

  • You know from 0:01-0:30 something amazing is finna take place.......

  • just brilliant..... nothing more to add...

  • thums up if GTA IV bought u here :)

  • The Berry's family greed took from us a truly DEEP performer, writer etc... They ran this brother to England to begin with so that he could find hid inner pesce and to be free of the Berry clan. Thank you Quincy and he came back to the states ready to be who he TRULY was. And for those presentations I will FOREVER be a fan! Marvin you were a stunnig presence despite your sacrfices yet you charged on and I am sure that in heaven you are allowed to satisfy the harmonies of our Heavenly Father!

  • eveson has done a cracking job sampling this tune and putting his on twist on it. go listen to eveson - simply... stunning ;)

  • And thumbs up for who will listen in 2012 2013 2014 etc

  • This is real soul music that came from a tortured soul, pitted between spiritual sanctity and overwhelming lust and desires. This song most examplifies the light he seeked from the darkness he resided in, dressed in the form of lyric and rythm. That's why Marvin, to this day, continues to be the voice for those that lost theirs in their own personal struggles. It's sad to know how it all ended for Marvin, but his music lives on to tell his story to the world.

  • @Frankticas You put into words how a great many of us feel. Things like this are just so hard to explain. All I know is that I feel this music deep inside.

  • Make me wanna holler and throw up on my haands!!

  • it's sad when i type marvin and what comes up is marvin's room or marvin gaye and chardonnay smh

  • @youngnstressless that is sad

  • Good music has no age. Especially this song. Marvin Gaye speaks the rhythm of the Inner City Blues.

  • Pity to see music like this compared to the shit kids are going to be reared on and listening to for the foreseeable future. Marvin Gaye or fucking Jedward/McFly/Britney/Justin timberlake and the list goes on

  • MOTOWN.........MUSIC OF MY LIFE...THE GREATEST RECORD LABEL IN THE WORLD. XXX

  • Listened to the programme about the making of "What's Going on" on Radio 2, with Smokey Robinson introducing. Brillliant, moving stuff. This music, and particularly this song, is MASSIVELY, MASSIVELY relevant today.. looking at modern Britain. What a genius piece of music, with such deep spirituality. Humbling.

  • i get down like clever in doing hard time to this shit minus the broom stick - love the song
