  • Reminds me of "Hooray for The 21st Century" .....

  • Perfect, don't care 'bout what's outside, love what's inside! Pure beauty, Love the album

  • I quite like Carls voice, but being realistic its Petes voice that really made The Libettines and Babyshambles, especially petes lyrics, he is really talented..well both of them are really:)

  • i love this song but the album cover? no, no i don't.

  • Got to say, this version's growing on me :)

Still prefer him acoustic with a violin accompaniment though.

  • To be perfectly honest, I like this song more as an acoustic. But brilliant lyrics :)

  • I think it might be about himself, and his former self and his former life with pete, the libertines and dirty pretty things and how hes moved on from that band on tour lifestyle.

The "dancing girl skipped away from me" reminds so much of radio america,

  • @polkadotsfillthesky Thats true that. Wonder if this is about Pete ? Of course thats a massive long shot.

  • Everyone stop saying everything's about Pete. I think you all need to get a life... seriously? The guy has other priorities besides his crack addicted ex-best friend. give him a little more credit.

  • @GrayTrousers hes addicted to heroin, but yeah your spot on

  • @GrayTrousers hes still his best friend thick fuck

  • wasnt pete meant to feature on this?

  • what a sad difference between his Libertines-covers look and what does he look like on this album....but what is important-music is still perfect♥

  • is that his girlfriend in the back?

  • @ilikeJellyCups yes, when she was pregnant.

  • i love carl

but he does look like a bit of a twat in the album cover

  • @jemjem999 yes he does:)

  • future carl classic?

  • bella

  • This sounds kinda Brian Ferry like.

  • enjoying this! carl's back on top form!

  • Saw him at the slade rooms in Wolverhampton tonight. New stuff reminds me a lot early Legs XI libertines stuff. Which is great, because that was always my favourite libs stuff.

  • legs 11ish

  • it's obv about a girl but the first half's lyrics relate to peter :(

  • @pinkhana The second half is a lot about peter hence: 'I was blind i could not see

The mirror cracked in front of me'. As in when he cut his eye open on a mirror in alan McGee's house in 2003 with Peter.

  • @pinkhana i think its all about pete and the libertines, the repetition of "a dancing girl" in other songs makes me think its carls representation of pete as the form of beauty i.e the poet of their relationship, and he's the singer, how their relationship came together and split apart, and how "theres no blood on your pretty hands" carl doesnt blame pete for the breakup of the libertines.

  • @Liberteen10 nice insight :) thanks

  • @pinkhana never thought of it like that, thanks
