Nothing against Chevy I'm a Chevy guy myself. But trucks just aren't what they used to be. Now it seems like they're just about luxury. Especially having the option to switch to 4 cylinder. I mean hell, let a truck be a truck. I miss the good ole 5.7 days.

all new body style silverados have the active fuel management, at least on the gas 5.3s. with the flowmasters on mine you can hear a diff. tone on my exhaust but it does not sound bad.

I had a friend of mine put Magna Flows w a x pipe cross over on his 04 SS. The muff was a dual in dual out. He was getting a lot of resonance at 60 mph. Then I noticed the Magna Flow exhaust kit has resonators on it. Maybe that is to compensate for the resonation ?? He was going back to stock single outlet. I told him to go dual all the way out.

there is a different sound.....I think the best way to describe it is that its just as deep sounding in 4 cylinder as it is in 8, but not quite as genuine and full a sound. but it is not very noticeable in my opinion (no one who didn't know would be the wiser)

i got strait pipes on mine form the cats back, no mufflers, it sounds nothin like the older Chevys , it dosent pop at all... sounds like an extremely deep 40 Series Flowmaster, the 4 cyl is deff more noticeable, but i got 33x12.50s on mine, so it doesnt go into it very much cause the weight of the tires...but it sounds good, quiet cruisin, but you kno its there when you get in it

But I raced an 05 with headers exhaust intake last night. Wasn't a race, I kept letting off the gas and letting him catch up and everytime I slammed on the gas it was like he was standing still. And when I posted that I Raced a brand new 08 with magnaflow extended cab.

OWNED. He started catching up at about 65 but we killed it. Good funt hough. Single cab will eat me for breakfast tho. I know that.

ext cab and regular cab dont make very much diff at all. i had a 05 z71 ext cab step side and outran all regula cabs i raced they would pull me out of the hole but i was passed them by 300 ft.

most ext cab trucks have higher gears like 3.42 most regular cabs have 3.73 or 4.10's just from what i have seen. 4.8s also have higher gears my buddies 4.8 will kick its self into 1st from 47 mph a 5.3 will only do it up till about 37

Gibson is amazing. I have Gibson Headers and it gave me such an awesome sound along with my Borla Exhaust. If you have the cash go Borla, not too loud, nice and deep. But 50 series Flowmaster would probably be the best for a little rumble not over the top. My girlfriends brother has a true dual flowmaster 40 series on his 04 Silverado SS and its so loud its obnoxious.

hey you can do whatever you want.....I would much prefer a calm racing sound rather than what sounds like my butt cheeks slapping against each other when I fart. glass packs sounds like my rear when you floor it, these mufflers do not. and I dont' want it to be real loud anyways, gets annoying driving down the highway

glasspacks sound like shit all they do is make noise and crackle.. A deep throaty sound is much better... this truck is on the quiet side... look at some other magnaflow and flowmaster videos and you will realize that glasspacks sound like crap

yeah there is a sound change, but it still sounds deep like a V8.....not enough power output in 4 cylinder to be loud anyways, very subtle sound difference

any change in muffler is great for gas and performance...I personally think that magnaflow has the best truck sound...Flowmaster is a little bit too high pitched for me (my brother has the same truck with Flow and its a little weaker in my opinion)
