  • Me: *watching this video*

    Dad: *walks in*

Dad: "Son, what are you watching?

  • this happened to me in 7th grade by a bully. Probably cause i was small and had never worked out. Thanks to this vid, it'll never happen again! #THANKS

  • My older brother taught me a jump and drop move when someone bear hugs you and it works like a charm and you can break their leg like they don't even know whats going on because they have their arms locked together holding you. I did this to an instructor one time and he tasted the mat. His eyes were so big and the students were laughing.

  • Krav-Maga has a better move for this grab...

  • @DivingHawker krav maga is comprised of many martial arts including aikido...and krav maga is not martial art at all...its bs

  • @novomlinski No, Krav-Maga was created by someone who found techniques, not since aikido and other martial arts. It was created for Israellian military forces and was "secret" for years. After, federations opened to teach Krav-Maga. I repeat it, it wasn't created since other martial arts, even if there are similarities.

  • @DivingHawker

yeah yeah, so its just coincidence that it first came into the public eye in the 20th century, and already looked like a batardized version of several other martial arts ?

    keep telling yourself that.

  • @thievinbrudda Well, I practice Krav-Maga and that's my trainer who tought me that.

  • @DivingHawker Then your trainer needs to get a clue.

Krav Maga is a system, not an art.

  • @johmatmarkun He and I know it's not a martial art.

  • What school of aikido wears brown belts? And the hip check thing? Not feelin it.

  • bah... Bass rutten bar self def technique just pwned that shit.

  • thumbs up if you hit your hand and when you did it right it hurt

  • the gay hug

  • REAL Bear hugs are made lower down, controlling the elbows so try that one eh. Keep it real

  • @dobberdoss also if the guy is big enough he cant probably hold onto your arms with the opposite hand,

  • i learned it in Aikibudo but i forgot now i can learn it from aikido on YouTube

  • i would follow that up with elbow strikes to the ribs (each side).

  • I can just imagine some withered old Japanese guy flooring some huge burly guy with this stuff. It puts a grin on my face.

  • poor guy XD ahahah

  • mantep makasih atas ilmunya

  • does this mean my enemy will give me a hug? :D

  • @ghostsniper1999 yeaah! :D cute ! isnt it? xD

  • if you just bring the elbows up he wont be in the bear hug

  • @stompySharpNpointy yes, you'll be choked. well done!

  • @kenfo0 Not if you elbow him to the ribs and move out of the way..just a thought

  • @stompySharpNpointy You can elbow me in the ribs all you want. i've been kicked and punched in them to little effect. It will be stiff and sore tomorrow, that's about it. Self defense....when someone is attacking you outside of a sporting or friendly situation...must be vicious and quick. An elbow in the ribs is tv-land and unreliable. On tv and these silly vids, minor contact yields amazing results that do not transfer to the real world.

  • he knuckled in and got good penetration

  • any good books anyone would recommend for aikido? or videos?

  • @shayne7257 Aikido and the Dynamic sphere, by A.Westbrook& O Ratti

  • yoi ii wa .

    rippa desu yo ne ,osensei.

  • He told me not to try it after I did it. Ouch.

  • If the attacker gripped his hands like someone actually would, palm to palm, what would you do?

  • lame Have u heard of ATA it actually works and i know cause i tried it on some NOOBS at school

  • cuando se agache yo me tirpo para atras pero con mis desdos en direccion a su rostro como una garra de tigre, se nota que ya estaba ciego cuando enseño esta JAJAJAJA

  • knuckle strike does not work also if the attacker is bear hugging you very tightly realistically how much force can you hit the hand with?

  • knuckle strike does not work

  • Weak and lame bear hug. Looks more like foreplay.

  • Even Steven Seagal is laughing.

  • that knuckle to the hand really does hurt

  • lMAO....!

  • thats the dumbest thing i have ever seen

  • mate he looks fit dont instruct homer

  • plenty of room to move for what gay sex

  • stop going to gaybars and you´ll be safe

  • Never work in real life if you are being grabbed for real and dragged.......

    Not in a million years....

  • @becs512 If your being dragged you know you can trip people over even if their behind you just stick your leg back and it'll work.

  • But this isn't a proper bear hug. The bear is done at elbow level and the victim is lifted and thrown to the ground. This counter wouldn't work.

  • This is showing you how to take it up the butt from behind hahah :D

  • Hmm, might be better without all that text obscuring the video. Tried toggling the Transcript button, but that didn't get rid of it.

  • @Xubuntu47 Click on the Closed Caption (CC) icon.

  • Gotta love the videos with everybody doing tumble sets all over the place.

  • Its pretty sad when a 9th degree aikido black belt "Steven Seagal" says, " i don't think aikido would be terribley effective in MMA"

  • i like how he blasts into him haha!

  • So far "Shadowmov3r" is a grammar specialist, is a martial arts master, rich, powerful, has a great looking girlfriend, can beat anybody in a battle of wits and physical combat, is of perfect weight and skill, smells amzing...... did i forget anything? read up on some of these comments, sounds like the guy is just a

    PA-troller.

  • @honestactor Patroller? Seriously dude, you know how offending these people are, instead of hiding behind the backs of these unintelligent people, who "won" the debate with just offending me and using useless arguments which I used counter-arguments against, why don't you go look up some facts, Muay Thai may use the hard fists. elbows, knees and feet, but do you honestly think that's usefull against someone who performes an arm-lock on you, and then pushing further than he's supposed to?

  • @Shadowmov3r - You are from the netherlands, stick to dutch kickboxing. way more effective than fake arm locks.

  • This shit may.....MAY? work against, drunks or disabled people. Anybody looking to learn MMA shouldn't be thinking about taking this shit real.

  • I love how they let anybody put MMA videos on ExpertVillage

  • @Ytherenonamesleft138 @Ytherenonamesleft138 ok, so you say Aikido is worthless, tell that to someone I know, He recently became a Judan. Also, he once fough 5 people alone, 2 with a knife, 1 with steel pipe, the other one with baseball bat and one without something, he won.

Also, do you even know what Aikido is all about? It's defeating your opponent without harming him with your fists, something you wouldn't understand.

And do you even train under a martial art? Probably not.

  • @Shadowmov3r yeah the 5 ppl must have had downsyndrome and this person prob told you this story or he did this in a simulation,i have studied in 3 different martial arts and everyone laughs at aikido its worthless in a real hand to hand combat against any other martial arts.

  • @Ytherenonamesleft138 Ugh, I give up, not only is your spelling very bad and terrifying to read, but you actually say you study martial arts, good studying, now try training them, and may I ask what martial arts you have "studied", don't give me the most common order of fake martial artists, something like "jiu-jutsu, jeet kune do and shaolin 5 forms", I have trained in Pencak Silat, my style is common to Aikido, it devestated a lot of people. Try something before you judge it.

  • @Shadowmov3r - Don't be upset you spent all that time learning a useless martial art.

  • @thegeneral1942 Geez, Einstein was right, human stupidity is an infinite resource in the world.

Why don't you come by, try to fight a 10th dan Aikido, oh wait, you weight 400 kg, live in your mom's basement, and have no job. Sorry, I made a mistake, it's not possible for you to get here, let stand the fact that you're not able to stand up you weak-minded fat prick.

Go back to elementary school and learn what respect is.

  • @Shadowmov3r - I like to quote people that impress me and i wish i was, you sir are a dullard. You study the useless art probley just to touch up on children. I am not sayin aikido is usless...... i'm saying you and aikido are usless. Now get back to your petty existance, the tears of wasted life weep for you.

  • @thegeneral1942 really noone cares aikido is useless in real hand to hand combat.....i mean think abt it u have a 350pd man bear huggin u u knuckle him in the back of the hand hes just gonna laugh at ya!

  • @thegeneral1942 <@thegeneral1942 So using quotes makes me a dullard? Why don't you start watching real Aikido, o wait, sorry, advanced Aikikai is prohibited to be posted on a site, since kids like you will use those techniques, and accidentally break someone's bones. Don't believe me? Look it up.

You have no arguments whatsoever, and that's even better than those weak arguments of the other guy.

Oh, I'll stop now with this social experiment which you people were participating in.

    Thanks.

  • @Shadowmov3r - Yes, correct you are a dullard

  • @thegeneral1942 Yay, I'm a dullard. Anyway, I have used these results in my social experiment and handed them in. Thanks for participating. Thank god I can speak the truth now, and you're partially right, Aikido isn't that great in real life situations, IF you perform them EXACTLY like that. Aikido is partially improvisation, hence why these techniques look useless, and since Aikido was never meant to be combat-oriented, I think you're partially right.

  • @Shadowmov3r - ahh kudos glad to help with human experiments, good luck and god speed.

  • @thegeneral1942 Oh and one more thing, I wasn't entirely correct in my previous post, if you still think Aikido is useless, watch this /watch?v=PSgRWPjBfVc

or, if you want hard evidence, /watch?v=F3NmaYu2Kvc

  • @Shadowmov3r - I believe Aikido is useful, however it is only useful in oldlady attacks, gay parades, child daycare, and when daniel is letting you blast inside him.

  • @Ytherenonamesleft138 - daycare...lol

  • @Shadowmov3r - I love how you troll everybodys comments, D-BAG

  • @honestactor I love it trolling people too, I love social experiments, hence the reason why I'm doing this.

  • blast into him hahaha

  • @Shadowmov3r And dont you think this video is useless then?? Are you taking this video serious? Look how he stands, look at his opponent. If he headbutt the guy he would let go. Believe me for real that hit to the hand wont do anything.

  • @minasz I agree that this is pretty useless, but not for people who start martial arts, or are just interested in, I myself have trained Pencak Silat (my Silat form comes from a part of Irian Jaya Barut, mostly hand-to-hand combat) for 6 years, and yes Bas Rutten is awesome.

  • @minasz Well sorry to have misjudged you, I didn't know you got bashed first, well sorry for the post then!

  • @Shadowmov3r Doenst matter mate! If you wanna look some cool videos and wanna learn some good grappling moves. Check out Bas Rutten. He got some good training videos. This is garbage!

  • @minasz - bas rocks

  • There seems to be a lot of insane people over here, yes, sexually disturbed blokes, answering to the Bear Hug Technique Video. Great amount of time lost to write rubbish!

  • want a good laugh? Go fwd and back @0:48 and 0:50

  • @TheCHEVYNATOR whahaha good one whahahah

  • @TiminPhoenix you like queen elizabeth gayboy?

  • is that usalble in wrestling?

  • @classicalheartburn you laugh. but if you're in prison and you tried this on the biggest guy in there... well he would be compelled to protect you since would be his girl and all the other inmates would want you! at 0:42 the guy actually says "I knucle in and get good penetration". 0:44 As this starts to open, I rock my hips fwd and launch them hard boys" 0:55 "rock my hips fwd and blast back into Daniel 1:10 "gets him completely off your back and gives you plenty of room to move"

  • what if the guy(opponent) got boner :)))))

  • looks like hes forcing to bum each oda

  • thanks !!

  • Very important and effective in Gaybars!

  • lol

  • @gardenofarcane -lmao

  • Wouldn't it be better to stay away from the gaybar in the first place? :D

  • @backofitsmine some ppl cant help it, this Akido guy is kinda creepy look at this last move!

  • The bear hug is too high on the body and the guy performing the hug is half the size of his opponent which is often the case in these demos...this just wouldnt work on a big guy with arms lower down as the centre of balance would be a great deal lower.

These techniques need to work on all sizes and variations of hold other wise the one time you are called to use a technique it will not work....

  • very praticle techniques ! self defense is very important !

  • o un cabezaso hociko

  • Es una buena tecnica para eludir un agarre sorpresa!... Buen video.

  • I don't think this is as effective as the other demonstrations.

The reason being is that I don't think that rapping the pinky side of the hand will force the opponent to let go - it will hurt, but (and if it's a physically fit person you would be in more trouble) it probably wouldn't cause them to let go. Against weaker perhaps, but I don't really see the full effectiveness of this technique.

    Thanks :)

  • LAME

  • very practicle

  • The first part's good... but I'm not a fan of the butt-blast... just puts you off balance. After the grip is loosened, I'd follow the loosened hand, into a kotogaeshi or ikkyo. While turning, I may use my elbow as a bit of a spacer... not my butt.

  • I fully agree with das....

  • This guy is going to get someone hurt. I had a training partner with an aikido black belt and he said the stuff was mostly useless in a real fight. I think there are some bad ass Japenese masters, but there are a lot of guys in America who teach that aren't very good. I noticed that in his other videos he strugles with the technique if he tries to do it with any kind of speed, not even a little fast.

  • Maybe your friends Aikido does not work- I have been training over 20 years in the art 15 in Bagua and Xing Yi and bounce @ a well known club for over 10 years total and I would say your friend is either not trained well or just does not get it - its the principles that makes it work its not the waza-the waza point out the way to learning a principle.

  • bas ruttens escape technique from a bear hug is very effective againts normal people. however i tried it againts a hwarangdo blackbelt and he just went down with me and then proceeded to wrap me up. the technique uses the surprise element, which is fine for most people, not for anyone who is on the ball. che out hwarang do or hapkido methods for bear hug escape they are great

  • and your point is

  • Different situations call for different techniques. This exploits a common weakness. If your friend responds by "pulling" you down, he's giving you force to use against him. This is just one option for one situation.

Realistically bear hugs aren't that threatening anyway.

  • oh my god wat a load of crap, kush i think your right, have a look at bas rutten escape of this it much better!!

  • damn akido does risk your sexuality

  • Bear hugs & counter-bear hugs are taught in many MA's; not only aikido.

  • LOL!

  • Well, its either you use the technique or your gonna get choked out.

  • what a weak bear hug, no one bear hugs like that, way to high up on the arms.

  • poor lil' danial

  • i just punched my own hand ..... shit that does hurt

  • lol does it now

  • hHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

  • would be helpful to have a diagram of specifically where to hit...

  • RAPE!!!!!!

  • not much of a bear hug, uke is too gentle with attack.

  • Haha that's because shite is too fat for the uke..

Expert village never stops amusing me with their sloppy instructors..

  • In response to

kaliber44minib00m, you watch to much tv, Aikido is all about getting your opponent off balance and keeping them there. In this way, you can keep control of your opponent AND it can lead up quite nicely to sankyo, think about it :D

  • Plus Aikido is only for self-defensing yourself rather than inflicting damage to the opponent.

  • no its not

  • it is to pwn da enemieesss

  • ouch, that looks like it would hurt a little to ukai with that nerve being hit like that.

  • shit technique, just strike with elbow. easier.

  • No. That's correct, infact he couldn't strike with elbows coz his arms would be 'locked'.

  • Exactly kaliber44 @ this is exactly what Bruce Lee was teaching - simplicity. It amuses me how all these high ranking teachers still have the ignorance and arrogance to use utterly useless techniques in order to control a circumstance. What I mean by simplicity is that if somebody grabs you like that all you have to do is stomp the guy hard as hell on the insteps. That way he'll let go immediately and then you can turn around and do whatever you want with him. I'd prefer the elbow strike!

  • The guy behind you can easily take you in a rear naked choke!

  • thats when u grab his head and flip him over.

  • unless its one of you friends just elbow to the jaw

  • great technique I have tried it and applied it. Trust me it works, You hit the nerve just above the pinky and their hands open up :-)

  • Solid technique no bullshit

  • Lots of intelligent comments below showing you can use a wide range of techniques, they all work if applied correctly and fast enough. In a real fight, having the time to decide which one is considered a good start ;)

  • thats a good technique. another great defense is to step out into a horse stance and strike his groin with a knife-hand to loosen him up, then peel a finger off.

  • alamid martial arts purely self-defence

  • yeah really... all you have to do is throw back your head as fast and strong as possible.. you will fuck his nose up.

  • loFl!!

  • but fucks ur head up 2 plus ull get a headache his techniques is better and more friendly to the attacker remember aikido is being in harmony with urself and your opponent

  • What if the attacker killed you mother? Don't think you would be so friendly anymore.

  • what by bearhugging her?

  • hmm...?

  • lol neva seen that done before

  • Then sir you must be someone who never looks trouble in the eye.

  • how litle you know i just dont involve my famely

    arschloch

  • What you say boy...

  • haha learn german dimwit

  • very awsum i liked that alot. another thing u can do is headbutt to the back then pick off one of the fingers, preferably the pinky :)

  • thats a kool technique, i wouldnt have thought about that. What i use is a head but back into the attacker, but this is kooler =]
