you must be an Ameican or Mexican because Oriental refers to Eastern Asia such as China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong etc, I don't think Filipin, Thailand Indonesia are included.
Asia refers to the entire Aisan Continent including Oriental countries and west Asia such as India, Pakistan and south asian countries such as Philipines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore etc.
isn't that the Orient, rather than Asia? . Do you have medical insruance for your body? . Do you have public liability insurance for other people and other's property? . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
not as much traffic as my town in California (USA)... but sure seems like there are little to no rules of the road! Although there is a street near my home that is a Vietnamese market community... and I just don't drive on that street for fear of hitting a pedestrian! your town's driving, pedestrian and bike traffic remind me a lot of that street!
believe it or not, the lack of rules seems to work. there are rules but how they are enforced on a daily basis is quite different than the US. in Asian, people are not taught to not walk in the road. the road is the place where people walk. if you're not used to that concept, perhaps avoiding that street you mentioned is your best policy after all!

That gives a really good idea of what it's probably like there (I've never been to Hukou, so...). Thanks for sharing that with us!
