I have noticed that despite the regency atmosphere is in every details that does not occur to the behavior of the "party". For example the hand shaking in the introductions instead of bowing etc. These people did not seem to do any research at all on the era's courtesy. Chaperones could do better...
It's not silly because as they stated, they cared more about MONEY than about anything else. A rich person was a rich person, so they would give them honor.
That stupis chick,."i cant be mad to feel guilty about what happened in history"WHAT,you dont have to feel gulity, how about sympathy though, wonder if she FEELS that.We dont need,or want anything like that to happen again!!!
@Lor3tta1 .....We dont need,or want anything like that to happen again!!!
You are quite naïve, my dear. Slavery is all over the world, most certainly in all third world countries. African history has not been without. Black slaves at that time in Africa were sold by their black neighbours. And let us not mention all brutality happening in todays-Africa. So, you better stop your own brutality / name-calling. That will certainly not bring any solution for understanding.
@druniver Hi,.druniver,.i was not saying slavery was not all over the world.i guess i wrote what i meant to say the wrong way.Okay,.so,calling her stupid was childish, but so was her comment on saying she shouldnt feel guilty.i was trying to say,.at least she can have "sympathy" for ALL slaves,in EVERY part of the world, and countries, cities,(homes) that is all i meant.i didnt mean to offend you or anyone in anyway.:/
geez,.well, weve been lied to sooooo much about history, maybe this really did happen!!!arrggggh,.Why is it so bad to teach us the truth about these things? idk,.on to wiki.or library, lol.
Maybe she wanted to experince the experince too,(i totally respest that)but, yeah,.you all are right, this has gotten stupid, because it supossed to be "historical"
He he he... now that the West Indian heiress has arrived, I wonder when the gay, wooden-leg , East Indian, tea picking millionaire arrive? Oh PUH-LEASE!
@rexlbumbum When I did caribbean history they where accounts of the mulatto (not black) children of wealthy plantation owners who were sent to England and entered into some society not aristocratic society but to gentry society. Some of them where indeed heiresses and where given large fourtunes by their white fathers.
Why does she not get a chaperone to help her like the rest. Seems odd.

BTW, Miss Samuel is the real-life sister of the singer Seal.

So Miss Samuel's money outranks the Countess's title?
pookoos 1 year ago
@pookoos yes because the countess is poor and money beats title for most regency gentleman.

@trinapinks Unless he himself is wealthy and without a title.

@kje1957 How is it silly. Black or mulatto heiresses from the West Indies were quite rich.
