What's so special about these vespas? Looks like it's a scooter with motorcycle price and mileage, but scooter top speed. Plus, this one is particularly ugly. Looks like it belongs in the 80s.

@dick117 whats so special is the 60mpg. They reach to college kids who live far from their classes, or anyone really who only makes small trips to shops/stores/etc who dosnt want to pay for a car or the pricy gasoline.

I like the look of the bike, but the fact that it's built in China, goes slower than a Buddy 125 and costs about 1500 more than the before mentioned competition doesn't make for a compelling argument. And, all Genuine scooters come with 2 year/unlimited mileage warranties. If I remember correct, you pay more for Vespa but get less dealers and only 1 year/limited mileage warranty

i have a cheap plastic 150 cc chinese scooter i paid 800 for brand new, its cheeply made but it gets me from point a to b just like a vespa and it runs, if i get in a wreck on a cheaply made scooter or a high end scooter IT WILL NOT MATTER, a scooter is a scooter . if it works, it works, im not paying a shit load of " nostalgic looks. CARS on the other hand totaly differnt in my opion( just my opion peoples)

Check with your local DMV. State laws differ with 50cc scooters. Some require licenses, others don't.

This vespa does not have front and rear disc brakes like mentioned in the video. It has a disc front brake and a drum rear brake.

the vespa T5 that it compaired it to is faster and more economical i got 120mpg out of my T5 on a 130mile ride at an average speed of 40mph

well nothing really its just the style of them you can get scooters that are more reliable and cheaper then them. the only thing special about them is that its made out of pressed steel and most other scooters have plastic bodywork

Should always have been fitted as standard to scoots like P2, T5.

Whats the piont of 70 mph if you have to stop with a drum break,its not good.

All in all this is a good scooter,but i prefer the twist grip gear change.

@Nilsson78. I never said Vespa sucked or anything like that Vespa is a quality scooter.... but it IS overpriced. My Yamaha C3 is a great scooter that gets 115 mpg with a water cooled fuel injected 49cc I can go over 45mph and it is a great machine with a FAIR price.

60-70mpg is crap for a 4stroke 150cc bike most 4strokes with that engine size do over 100mpg. my 125cc 2stroke vespa (20years old) can do 70mpg cruising at the top speed of that bike

The Vespa is for snooty snobby well to do preps who want a fashion statement on wheels when they go to park it in front of their coffee house when they sip their expensive cappacinos Get a humble Yamaha with their Zuma 125cc which can go just as fast as this 150cc hype. The new Zuma has fuel injection too and it costs around 3,000. my 4 stroke 50cc Yamaha C3 goes 45mph stock and it is fuel injected with liquid cooling it cost 2,100 dollars.

I got a new 2009 and it had a mechanical problem. The thing dumped me going 45 mph. Lucky for me I had the right gear on. Vespa was totalled and I lost $2000. The prez of Vespa basically told me it was my fault since the HD dealership "couldn't find anything wrong with it." I happened because I was inexperienced. Even the best vehicle companies can put out a lemon every now and then. No more Vespas for me.
