  • Chrash Boom BANG!

  • den noob

  • lol, i love how almost every boat capsized

  • LOL so i agree with the cheating way of winning of those nerd danish??? jajajajajaja respect the rules... or at less try to read something about them; they BROKE several rules... and is the only way they got the victory; what they did in the world champs??? ¿?¿?¿? Iker and Xabi... WON!!! are those "gold medal winners" in the Barcelona World Race?? Iker and Xabi are in 2nd place with the Mapre Imoca60!!! shut up till u learn sailing!! suckers!!

  • Amazing to watch again. Great sportsmanship from Croatia!

  • "even if they broke some insignificant rules"

There aren't INSIGNIFICANT rules, it doesn't exist. Think it. Rules are for something. Also, if my skipper brokes a leg, why i can't change of skipper?...but everycrew can be changed...I'm spanish. I'm agree: Denmark sailed it better. BUT, we can't forget that nobody on water (sailors) knows about the boat change of Croatian. And it could affect on tactical decissions and on sailing forms.

(sorry about my english, it's too poor xD).

  • @tjvaro the spanish team finished 1. in that last medal race :D what other tactical decissions could they have made? put up roadblocks for the danish team

  • @deplaceking wow... i think finish one is not everytime the best tactical decission... May be you prefer that ur principal opponent finish last. I don't know if this was the sittuation... but when u are on the water u can let a boat for cross urself (if it doesn't suppose a dangerous) or ask for Starboard if it is ur principal opponent..... think it.

Again.-. sorry about my english ;D

  • danish broke several rules... hoe they done at the 2009 49er worlds?? Spanish ones WON!! withoutcheatting... Danish are nothing

  • @sennalaleyenda Which rules do you think they broke exactly?

  • @redted136 they did not sail under theys country colours, so the other skippers could not identify them... and thats a cheatting way to win!! they broke their boat... so they should NOT have sailed!!!

  • @sennalaleyenda

jealouse !!! this is real sport .. best man wins.. they got way behind and even so the managed to win .. thats the spirit of real sport.. and we must never forget that.. your just a bad loser!!

  • go denmark! :D

  • Denmark rules the waves..

  • To bad this is not on Dutch television.

Only the stupid fucking football agrhh I hate it!!

    Btw great race, amazing conditions.

I sail 29er now for 4 jears and I look forward sailling the 49er . Huge respect for these guys!!!

    All hail skiffsailling!

  • Yes germany 3. place!!!^^

  • Thank Croatia

  • NOT IF PINKY GETS THERE FIRST!! :D

  • @29ersftfw Pinky is going to OWN 2012 :D

  • Nathan Outteridge will win the next olympics you watch!

  • JA! Danmark styrede! Jeg kan huske jeg sad og så det her, det var helt vildt at se! Man kunne nærmest ikke se det for det var så spændende!

  • GB died Fu Look for the 3rd

  • Woah, great race

  • I remember watching this live. :)

  • lucky!! i live in the us, no live sailing in the olympics, all freaking BEACH VOLLYBALL! :(

  • i know i was in hawaii and all they showed were americans in canada they show a variety

  • cool!!

  • Let's not forget the German's integrity and the Croatian's decency. I don't remember much of what happened in the 2008 Olympic game, but this race will always be an event that I remembers, mankind may have a chance after all.

  • Thanks for posting this.

Stunning achievement just finishing at all, and for the Danish to finish the race and win the series was an astounding feat.

I think it made as much sense for the committee to start the 49ers race in those sea conditions as it would to send velodrome bicycles round a BMX course! Surely they could - should have postponed the race for another day?

  • should they have postponed? hell no! what really killed them was preparation, in practice and conditioning, for expected light air conditions.

  • F-ck hvor nice drenge!

    THANK CRO!

  • Hvor er i bare dårlige taber spaninen.. Danmark var heldige, men hvis de ikke hvad så optimistiske ville de ikke have vundet..

og hvis det ikke havde været så dårligt vejr havde Danmark nok vundet alligevel?..

  • The poor sailors dropped weight until anorexia and then it blows 25kts on medal race!?

Anyway AUSSIE'S RULE and NATHAN OUTTERIDGE you would have won if there was a proper sailing venue

  • They were soooo happy at the end well done guys!!

  • Jonas og Martin =D ! Så godt gået..!

Beautiful =D! Fantastic sportsmanship! Thank you so much Croatia!

Hvordan er det lige at opføre sig ? BARNLIGT SPANIEN!

  • if you wanna say something to Denmark and Croatia, then please say it so we can understand!!!

  • I don´t speak danish language or croatian language so to put it in English I put it in my language that is more important enough

  • Now THAT just didn't make sense... we don't EXPECT you to speak Danish or Croatian... but YOU on the other hand can't expect US to speak Spanish either... So... English it's just gotta be!

  • I'm Chinese South African and I say the Dans deserve the Gold. One of the good thing we learned from them is that they never gave up. The rules are there to punish the cheats. Do we honest think they break their boats so they can sail someone else's which weight 3kg less and have to start late?

  • The advantage was on going training when everybody stayed ashore for saving their boats for the race, and having a FULL spare boat as anybody else. Do you think this is not enough?

  • @dude456874 So agree - first man wins, and rules are just admin stuff you can reflect on if someone is acting like a jerk......................

  • Right... the gold stay were it belongs! And I honestly don't understand the Spanirds and Italians... how can it ever be an advantage to be forced to sail in a boat you aren't used to?

  • Today they OFFICIAL got the Gold Medal! .. Finally ..

  • the apeal was turned down by CAS

and the gold stay where it belongs

  • if the other teams are saying that

they was slowing down because they thought the danes was out of the race, because they then was sure of a medal.

(beside spain because they won and could do better than that)

    thats just BS.

because the race standings from 2 place and down was so close before and through the race.

that they needed all the points they could get.

they are just desperately looking for a way that they could win a medal that they was not good enough to sail and win it.

  • Fine !!!

  • lol lots of lame comments.. stop moaning denmark won. even in a boat that was'nt made for them, just shows they where the best sailors. even the U.S guys wanted denmark to win and let them come in as 7.. accept a defeat lol :D

  • gelle, precisely having the Croation boat WAS an advantage, because other competitiors didn't know that was Denmark, competitiors even said that they thought croats must have been on a training run. So IT IS AN ADVANTAGE...PLUS, do you think that Italians would have eased and settled for a 5th to win their bronze if they didn't know the Croatian boat was denmark. Or do you think the two boats in front of the Danes would have quit if they new that Denmark was right behind them? NO!

  • the check the croatian boat after the race and there was notting wrong with the boat other than they didnt have a cam and a flag.

  • the danish team was the best sailors and they won

the gold should not be decided of some so small things

it would have been another thing if the danish boat have done something to make there chances better of winning

but the danish team sailing the croatian boat just make the race harder for the danish team NOT better

so overall the danish team won even with a boat that not was as good as the spanish/italian boat

cause it was not trim up for the danish team.

So congrats to the best team DENMARK

  • Is it fair this? Is it sportmanship to compete against others they don't know 'who' you are or don't know you are competing against them? Problem 2: Any boat has to be inspected and spend some time in 'quaranteine' before each race. The croatian boat did not spend it because it wasn't going to compete. (another rule broken). Besides, rule number 3 of the reglamentation says that all boats have to have a camera (3 kilos weight). The croatian boat did not have the camera. (another rule broken).

  • The Croats boats had been approved to race. The spanish sailors even admitted that the danes deserved the medal because they sailed better, this is just disgusting sportsmanship. The danes started later and still finished in 7th, and shouldn't the obviously best sailors win? I would also like to see the olympic reglementation, cause there has never been an instance like this and therefore never a clear rule, like you say.

  • Just checked it, it's fully legal to borrow a boat.

  • Ooh... don't be ridiculous! It was storming! I hardly thing it was an advantage to have lesser weight in the boat! + the Danes had to compete in a boat they weren't used to!

  • the reglamentation says that you can change any part of your boat, not the boat itself (the olympic yachting reglamentation, points 21.2 and 21.3) C1- you must show national symbols for easy identification during the race. The italians needed just 5th to get bronze with the danes out of the race and they finish 5th. Curious? I don't think so. They didn't risk more because they were getting the medal and if you watch the race they celebrate after finishing because they think they won a bronze.

  • the italians finished 4th ?

    nice argument you pulled off..

  • Yeah... the flag would have been an issue if anyone could see it... they couldn't... in case you weren't aware... there was a storm... which... pretty much meant that the sails were under water a good deal of the time!

  • You danes should be the last to talk about sportmanship, YOU BROKE AT LEAST 5 ARTICLES OF THE RULE MANUAL, Most notably 21.2 and 21.3of the Olimpic Race instructions, and also article C1 rule of 49er class rule manual.

    Read and find out.

So please don't make ignorant comments, Bad sportsmen are the ones that win braking rules.

If Spain won Denmark's medal braking rules Danes would have done the same...

    --annoyed Spaniard

  • The regulations just says you have to fill out the right forms to borrow parts of the boat. But it doesn't say anything about borrowing an entire boat, NOWHERE, read it again with this in mind. So if a comment should be stamped as ignorent its yours. And the Danish sailling organisation wouldn't have complainted as much as the spanish did, i am danish and we can accept foreing athletes victories, if we can see that we in no way are better than them, even if they broke some insignificant rules

  • Or... maybe "we" (I of course has nothing to do with it...) would simply do as the Germans and say: they won at sea... that's where a boat-race should be decided! Not on land... not behind a dest!

  • If Spain had had a lead so big that a 7th place was enough to win gold i ASSURE you - no Danes would´ve said ANYTHING!

You don´t like it when the best people win? `Cause you cannot argue anyone was better than the Danes.

  • Blev det her også vist direkte på TV2? For de der kommentatorer anede tilsyneladende ikke en skid om, hvad der foregik i løbet og havde heller ikke styr på pointstillingen.

  • Det var nu osse svært at følge med med alle de kæntringer!

  • Fucking Spain and Italy... Learn it suckers;P

    Bad sportsmen

  • the spanish and the italian team dont have and sportmanship..

with all their complains...get over it...

i just wasnt good enough ti win..

denmark where the best sailors and they won fair.
