  • yEAH bOYEEEE!!!!

  • Tuneless fret wanking bullshit.

  • I didn't literallly mean that this was a lesson. by lesson i meant "this is how it's done"

  • Is this supposed to be good? I mean it doesn't sound good.

  • Anybody commenting negatively about this is plain fucking stupid. That or your blind. I would like to see anybody bad mouthing that to even try it. Its like writing a googolplex, IT AINT GOING TO HAPPEN!

  • @silentk59 Not having a go at his talent. Simply that it doesn't sound good. And no, I am not blind, however your eyes have nothing to do with it, I am a musician and I use my ears, perhaps you should try using yours.

  • @ozmium71 well, that's opinion based.

  • Buckethead is by far the best guitarist to my knowledge, in terms of the range and skill of playing the instrument. His musical composing is up for debate, but he can play bass, electric + acoustic guitar and even banjo, with more skill and a wider variety of styles than any one guitarist alive or dead. He is simply the master of utilizing and manipulating the instrument.

  • @EstanBulLoFre If you are talking in terms of versatility, skill and mastery of the "instrument" then there are plenty of guys you probably haven't even heard of that can run circles around him.

look up a guy called Tommy Emmanual, there's plenty of him on Youtube and he makes Buckethead look very average using the criteria you have defined above. I'm really not trying to knock Buckethead, he is certainly very skilled, however you made a VERY big claim that is easily disputed.

  • @megadeth1056 lmao dude. Just listen to "Electric Tears" by Buckethead. Look it up right now.

  • @megadeth1056 you don't know what you're talking about. he's written several full albums that have no shredding at all on them. it's all emotional beautifully composed music

  • @paulyboy911

Im joking he really is on the top 3 most versatle players i have ever heard from metal to a little children lullby. He can also funk and of corse shreed like a mother fucker and a lot more.

  • @megadeth1056 Okay, I was like "is this guy retarded", but then I saw this comment and was like, "okay he's cool."

  • @megadeth1056

buckethead can't play with feeling? WHAT are you talking about??

  • @megadeth1056 burn in hell kid

  • 30 people like double anal penetration

  • @paulyboy911 i kinda do

  • Pretty cool, but it's actually 7 fingers. the left index is just holding the notes.

  • @synchronyJEM yes, but it's still considered 8 finger tapping. the left index finger is always the root

  • @paulyboy911 If you want to get technical its called nubbing. Buckethead invented it, and its played differently than tapping. He's the only one that uses it 'cause it sounds like shit. Also, it's so fucking hard that guitarists cum when they see it. :P

  • @konothecook yea i know he calls it nubbing...and it is played differently but when it comes down to it, it's really just a different style of tapping. if it were transcribed in a music book it would most likely instruct you to "tap" those notes. I do know some other guitar players who use this technique but nobody notable

  • @synchronyJEM dude jesus christ who cares its badass anyway

  • That people is called wanking your guitar

  • Where is Toad's Place? It's in Connecticut, right?

  • @Rockerboy3872 yes, it's in CT

  • @paulyboy911 oh shit, then I played there once! NICE

  • thats so awsome!!!! how does he get that sound,

if anyone can show me how to tap with my pinky confortably ill be able to get this...........eventually

  • I can proudly say this is the best 14 seconds of my life! ;D

  • I'm proud to have been born in and live near the same town as this venue.

  • he likes diminished augmented and all the wierd effects to life like the sound of a recorder rewinding and then he plays them on the guitar. It is a different part of the musical world that most people dont even uderstand exists...

  • He fingered a girl once....She died.

  • @PunkLooees just like chris broderick in the video on the left you commented on 2 seconds after. looks like someone wants the top comment.

  • i always wonder with people like him, and others when they do this sort of thing live, don't you think it could be that they're just hitting random fucking notes? i can tap quickly, not accurately, i could do something like this too, no?

  • @BlackMagic8520 If you actually listen, it is musical but it is not meant to be pleasing to the ear. Its atonal.

  • He is a mock guitarist. chord pattern, 6's over 9's, and a random minor progression in 12 bars, in only a few words. This guy is better than you and your family and your neighbors clan as well, all within the realm of the improve (comping).... Jamming Jazz...

  • i recently just heard of buckethead and what he plays and how he looks like the dumbest shit i've ever seen

  • Buckethead is so underrated. Who thinks he's up there with Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix?

    /watch?v=A2I0a7EwWa8&feature=related

  • @FretBattles Up there? Hell, I'd be brazen enough to risk saying that he's better than Hendrix and Eddie.

  • Looks likee 8 fingers to me, if you people like to hate so much lets see your nubbing with 8 or 10 fingers ,,be sure to make it a response too

  • i can do that...i just try not too as ill melt my guitar :P

  • anyone else that plays guitar feel like your complete shit after watching this?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome...Guitar Moment of the Week #3 is also two-handed tapping

  • i doesn't sounds better than normal fingertapping

  • that is one fat les paul must be 4in. thick

  • @stringbreaker6 It's an oversized Les Paul just for Bucket. Hes a big dude, a normal les paul would look like a toy in his hands.

  • @WereRabbbit he's not as big as you think. the bucket makes him seem taller. i've stood shoulder to shoulder with him when i met him (i have photo evidence) and we're approximately the same height. i'm 6'4"

  • shredding on eight finger

  • its a video game lol it sounds kool

  • 0:14 seconds,

    58723784921 notes.

  • @theomegleyouhate how is my counting off? he's using 8 fingers

  • @paulyboy911 oh your right haha, i watched it again

  • @paulyboy911 because hes tapping with his four right fingers. aka four finger nubbing

  • @bluewetball nubbing is just Buckethead's word for it. It's still 8 finger tapping. If you'll notice, he's using his 4 left fingers too

  • @paulyboy911 yes i know lol and i do notice i play guitar...lol anyways his left hand is not "tapping" just doing hammers and pulloffs but who cares anyways bucket owns xD

  • @paulyboy911 if you were to tap using 2 finders on your left and one on your right you wouldnt call it 3 finger tapping, theomegleyouhate is right

  • but man, it doesn't sounds good.... :P

  • This is pure AWESOMENESS !! This guy's AWESOME !! his finger are AWESOME !! the speed is AWESOME !! ... I think it's enough to say Buckethead is awesome :)

  • Sounds like ZX Spectrum struggling to load a game.

  • @wesmatron haha, best comment by far ... of course if you meant it in a good way :)

  • Sounds like dendy.

  • what the fuck just happened holy fuck my fantasy band

    Drums: Dave Lombardo

    Lead Guitar: Bucket Head

    Rythm: Jimmi Hendrix

Bass: Cliff Burton or guy from Iron madien

Singer: James hetfild or Jim morrison

  • @Daxter756 Hendrix on Rythm? Blasphemor!

  • @kristofor12345 yeah you can't put Jimi on rhythm guitar. but my fantasy band would be Mike Portnoy on drums, John Schaffer on rhythm guitar, Steve Vai on lead, Cliff Burton on bass and Myles Kennedy on vocals

  • imagine the same shit on a pussy , 10 seconds clit's blow

  • @dawood88 yeah....you're a weirdo. haha

  • it's true though

  • @bearmouse1000 fair enough

  • HAX0RZ i wish i had his HAX

  • I love this. I have been listening to Buckethead since 96 and I am so glad he has gotten so popular. Please keep spreading the music of Buckethead.

  • didnt realize he was so skinny... meh

  • Reminds me of Shawn Lane except without the tapping

  • pinball machine?

  • amazing

  • @nathanwarner518 what is? your comment?

  • @nathanwarner518 I have noticed in my years that when one's knee-jerk reaction is to call names, they are typically guilty of calling the name that most closely resembles themselves.

  • @nathanwarner518 No this is skillz.

  • @nathanwarner518 how is it possibly retarded?

  • @nathanwarner518 you are retarded

  • I hope everyone that disliked has a stroke

  • @paulyboy911 they disliked BECAUSE they had a stroke, couldn't handle the awesome

  • Please hit ''flag for spam'' on all the Jonas Brothers comments. When that is done, flag this comment for spam, also. After that, let's talk about Buckethead, for fuck's sake.

  • Why the Fuck are people talking about Jonas Brothers, Bieber, and Paris Hilton on a Buckethead Video? Are you guys that retarded? "Yo dat Bieber kids a Faggggggg! Yo can you allz givez me tumbs up cuz I said Bieberz a Faggggg?????!!!! Am I Kewlz Yet Dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwg??!?!?!?!?!?!?!???????????!!!"

  • @RiceKiller191 Dude, on any video that has a musician, your gonna see comments about Bieber... Its sad, but true :/

  • Damn Buckethead!! I've been a huge fan of Buckethead for few years now and he still keeps suprising me!

  • its actely four finger tapping. You can only tap with your right hand

  • @ShredderDK you very obviously have never heard of antione dufour or andy mcckee

  • I really wish people would quit mentioning that teeny bopper fag on every goddamned video on teh tubes. seriously, fuck you all for even mentioning him, and especially on actual music videos.

  • WTF!!!!!!!!! That has to be a world record...

  • I love the 6 million dollar man silly putty licks

  • I have to change my undies after that ;)

  • really, you can't enjoy any note with all that tapping...

  • Pff.

    8 finger tapping is nothing.

Try 11 finger tapping, now that's hard.

  • @IVIALJA I can do that. The downside is that I have to take off my pants to do it.

  • @IVIALJA 11 finger tapping? Crazy thing is, Buckethead would find one way or another to do it..

  • that might be "technically" good but it certainly doesnt sound good.

  • sounds like noise

  • Why are we talking about the Jonas Brothers here?

They're just a bunch of [nouns] crying about their period.

  • apart from all the Jonas Bros. comments i thought this video shows a very well utilised Bucky technique, 8 finger octave displacementwhich sounds so badass, thank you paulyboy911 btw love the description

A Lesson In Tapping, yeah the lesson being dont try this at home!

  • @F4TB0Y69 haha. exactly. don't forget to watch my other buckethead videos and my videos of That 1 Guy from the same concert

  • @paulyboy911 '' You mean that one dude? That guy's really hard to call by name, ''Its like hey guy,' ''Hey guy! ..''Huh,'' hey guy! ,"Hey man? ''Uhh excuse me guy,'' ''Hey dude!! Oh shit'' HEY MAN! ''Im talking to you dude! C'mon man'' dude?, What's the? Hey you! ''buddy tech dude? ,He turns around, shit finally.

  • wtf is wrong wit this kid hes really not normal but shit keep making music

  • kfc's chicken is not even good anymore. i wouldnt tell him that though.they changed the taste when they started cooking it in that transfat shitty oil.

  • @salamonetalton That's not why he wears the bucket.

  • apparently buckethead has 8 million dollars according to a site that i can't even type in a youtube comment because it says "error try again" whenever try to post it.

  • broderick better? buckethead have skills to pwn our galaxy

  • i think chris broderick is better at doing that

  • @SiR666Hamburger this is finger nubbing broderick ises 8 finger arpegios is diferent

  • @gleucoma okey but i still think broderick is better

  • @SiR666Hamburger chris broderick is a totally different animal. buckethead plays more of an avante garde style. broderick, though he is a versitle player, plays mostly metal. i think buckethead is much more well rounded. he does fall into holes sometimes where he can get repeatative but i think a lot of guitarists have their go to licks especially when they're strictly improv musicians

  • @paulyboy911

they are different players. and i love buckethead but i think chris broderick may be better, and he is pretty versatile, he does jazz and classical as well as metal.

  • @paulyboy911 broderick plays everything from classic to metal, but he isn't a good composer and also not that good at improving. technically, i thik he's better than buckethead, but not a better musician

  • how was that a lesson?

  • @RIFFSUAREZ cause he was schooling people at guitar lol

  • Too bad this is nothing but noise.... Where's the spirit, melody, and song writing capabilities...?.... However, I do agree this is an excellent marketing ploy to the young masses star struck by mediocrity....!

  • @LastOfSixMusic LOL you dont even know what it is and you are bitchin' anyway get a life dude xD

  • @gleucoma.....Is this a mistaken attempt to overcome your limited knowledge when it comes to music and song writing..?

  • @LastOfSixMusic LOL dude you don't even know what's song writing, why slash fans thinks that they have "knowlege" about music funny shit dude I'm sure you don't know who's Shawn Lane and that's pretty sad dude u.u

  • @LastOfSixMusic This isn't noise, Merzbow is noise.

  • coooooooooool!

  • hell ya toads place new haven, CT!!!

  • who the fuck hit dislike?

  • does anyone know if this is from a buckethead song or just a random bit of tapping he made up? and if theres tabs for it?

  • @colashanacogh pretty sure that was the tapping from jordan

  • omg this is insane :)

  • sounds almost like anti-music. it's weird. its like so un-musical that it makes it music. like puppies that are so ugly they're cute.

  • back to the topic of buckethead this shit is off the chizzay

  • i dunno but this man with a bucket on his head playing guitar is EPIC !

  • why are ppl talking about paris hilton??

  • good question. i'm not sure how or why that came up. new topic

  • thats something i wanna learn really bad! Sounds like some notes being vibrated really hard

  • betcha no one can do that!

  • @Quala8ear there is no right use of it. the goal of this form of 8 finger tapping is to simulate the sound of a robot in panic mode. I think he effectively achieved that

  • @paulyboy911 I listened to it i didnt think much of it i read your comment listened to it again and it was amazing.

  • kirk hammet is awesome guitar player,,

he doesn't care if he's better then other or who's better then him.. he just wanna play for the fun part.. and he got his style.. like it or leave!

  • I agree. He might not be the best in the world and a lot of times he does use the wah to cover his mistakes...but he's never been a perfectionist. He just loves music and to still be going after all these years, I respect him and the whole band. They've worked hard to achieve what they have and I think they deserve all of it. I don't think of them as sellouts because they're not. If they were they would have called it quits long ago. They don't need any more money. they're doing what they love.

  • OKAAAYY yeah as the Description ..... Describes, "a lesson in tapping" and Todays lesson, children, is Not to Even try ... no really dont even bother your never gonna be ^ ^ ^ THat good.... :D

  • @vintageuser yah he's pretty much the standard... no one does it better than him.. basically no one's even close

  • Yupp well appart from the obv Malmsteen, Gilbert and all that but different styles and ALL masters at guitar

  • -.-''

buckethead is great, but that SUCKED

  • thats how i wanna shred in the next 2o yrs O.o. nice goin numba 8

  • @Natgasm *cough* you said, "men"?

  • @Natgasm Men?

    Try boys.

  • @JayCore666 that's enough about the jonas brothers. haha

  • @paulyboy911 :)

  • @JayCore666 Yeah it's definitely questionable

  • @JayCore666 Boys?

    Try girls.

  • @Natgasm MEN? lol i consider them just walking contradictions to the idea of a "band"

  • why do people talk about metalica or megadeath still?

  • becuase they were good in the 80's and there ...well...megadeth is still good now..metallica died 3 years ago =/...RIP

  • @warmonger21 Metallica died when that "Load" of bullshit came out 15 years ago.

  • can we please quit it with the Metallica/Megadeth debate? I'm actually a really big fan of both bands and frankly this is starting to get a little bit annoying. obviously, no one is going to change their minds. just let people like who they want to like and leave it alone. I'm hoping to get to see the Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax tour. That would be amazing. I hope it comes to the states. They're all great bands and they all deserve the respect of every metal head

  • @paulyboy911 If the truth hurts, its working. Metallica took a shit after the black album. Old Metallica was kick ass, Megadeth was kick ass and STILL is kick ass.

  • Don't forget...Megadeth put out Risk and Cryptic Writings. Everybody makes mistakes. haha. Load and ReLoad are actually pretty decent albums in my book. The only reason they get shit for it is because they're Metallica. If those albums were released by some new band on the scene, people probably would have liked them. St Anger..I'll admit was pretty much garbage...but I think Death Magnetic is actually really good. Just my opinion. Oh, and Megadeth is really boring live.

  • i just wanna be able to play like him^^

    quitar isnt so important xD

  • i want his guitar or any other guitar with pickups like that

  • WOOH dude totally agree with you! Megadeth is WAAAY better than metallica. Megadeth's songs are way more intricate, original, and imaginative than any of Kirk Hammets crappy wah-wah solos.

And they still havent sold out compared to Metallica. And everyone i know who says that Metallica is better likes Kill Em All as their favorite album. Litte do they know that Mustaine wrote nearly everything for that album!

    MEGADETH FTW!!!!!

  • @ffguru15 are your better than hammett at shredding to say that he play crappy solos?

I wanna hear you playing idiot

  • At least I can speak proper English and use correct grammar. Retard.

  • @ffguru15 learn how to read then idiot

  • @ffguru15 Don't worry. Just learn the pentatonic scale and buy a wah pedal. Done.

  • he might not play like kirk but he is right kirk does suck ]v[EGADET]-[

  • money doens't mean sh*t

  • paris hilton is also a very rich person, u should think about that..
