It was a hit in the Utah market back in the 60's. I knew the name spelling as "Foremost Authority." I believe a man by the name of Skip Ward was a member of the band.
1 second ago Is there anyway you can post the flip side of Dance, Dance. My dad actually sings on that song. I would love to hear his voice again. He passed away 8 years ago and I would love for his grandkids to hear it. I only have the records and no record player. Thanks for your help
@COCOMOANIKEALA sorry I just check my email. I will try and give you a call soon. My father also has past away it will be 8 years. would love to talk to you and see if you have any pictures. I have my dads old scrap book with some photos, newspaper clippings, and some billboard chart ratings. Hope to talk to you soon.
@sonjalawien I do have it...where it is? I don't know....but i do have it. I don't have their third single for GNP-Crescendo, though. When I find it I will post it.
@sonjalawien I'll have the Childhood Friends / Woe Is Me sides posted in a couple days. Found the 45 while sorting some stuff but too busy at the moment to get them posted.... prefer the Woe Is Me side...
I was in the Army in DC in the late 60's, and WPGC played this for a few weeks in 1968. I know of no other person who knows this song, and I have MANY friends who are into obscure stuff. Do a search for "Mrs Jones Garden" to hear a real cool song from early 70's !
@tremsfan I heard this song on WPGC! But it was 1967, not 1968. And it may have been the Chartbusters' version. WPGC played one version, and WEAM played the other one, but I don't remember which station played which version, unlike the situation with a song called "Happy". WPGC played the one by the Blades of Grass, while WEAM played the one by the Sunshine Company (the one I preferred). I love both versions of "Dance, Dance".
@rslitman : I only know this version of Dance, Dance, never heard the other...I thought for sure it was 1968, as I thought it was the second year in the Army down there for me, but you could be right. Here is one for you to check out- "Tompkins Square" by The Harbingers, i just had a friend post it on youtube, play it and get back to me! (I made a mistake in the text, which I will correct, that song WAS 1968, not late 1965! I see you are also a railfan? So am I.... Tremsfan
@tremsfan I don't know the song Tompkins Square by the Harbingers. I listened to WPGC, WEAM, and WINX for many hours each day in the summers of 1967 and 1968, and I probably heard at least once everything each station played then. In the "oldies era", I have acquired on one various artists album or another a song I never heard before called "I Think I'm Down" by the Harbinger Complex. Could this be the same group? I'll come listen to the one you posted.
