Sorry ive been watching these videos sporadically, i.e not in order, are those tactics basically gambits??

Sort of, but they're a lot more specialized, to the point where you can really spend time working out multiple strategies for every battle.

@MrWunderboy cool, i suppose in a game like this their necessary, though surely you can do that with healing spells, skorch seems to always manualy do it..

Well, it's still safer to do it manually, at least in my playing.

I do it manually so I can precise heal, but i have a tactic set up to heal anyone < 25% health automatically in case i can't get to it.
