I heard that the early french people who came to south east asia country in the mid 1850 to 1900s,they did trick our native ppl like that too. they asked to buy a piece of land about size of a cow hive,later then they cut it into thin long line cover three mountains,that 's how they built their military training camp to rob south east asian countries.thanks for sharing this history.
Oh my gosh. I love this video. My dad said the same thing about our history. Our scripts were lost during our migration, because when you leave your homeland, you leave behind what belong to you especially during warring periods. This is why Hmong people have the desire for literacy. Deep in every Miao/Hmong individual's heart, our ancient scripts remain within... though lost, we know we once have a written scripts....
@niamtxiv i don't think the hmong lost their "scripts" or writing system. arguably, if not true, paj ntaub is remnants of the hmong reading/writing system. what we lost is the ability to use it, and as such, all literacy of our own writing system gone. you also have to remember that a lot of writing systems were also eliminated---completely to the point of no remaining artifact---in china.
