The Skyline is the Japanese market Infiniti G35. Sort of the "pedestrian" version of the R series GTS and GTR cars. The new GTR is based on the Infiniti G35/37/ Skyline's FM(front midship) platform, so the new Nissan GTR is basically an Infiniti G35 on steroids, since they threw almost all of the G35 away. The Skyline name still exists in Japan as the G37 coupe and G35 sedan, but yeah, they didn't bother naming the new GTR a Skyline.

Exactly as you say jdcha9163...7000 ccm v8 or other v8 engines are powerful...BUT if you need a car with 600-700 HP which is so fast, just buy a GTR, take inside better turbo kit, you will get that power or more...but the Subie impreza WRX STI, or a Lancer EVO, or the R34 Skyline GT-R, for example Z-tune...but it's never mind.

it's not the new Skyline, it's just the GT-R. Nissan didn't want to bring back the Skyline, instead they wanted to create an actual supercar, using new approaches to concept design and engineering. it's a totaly new and different car, using the badge of "GT-R" as its name because of its heritage and to symbolize the ultimate "GT-R", thus it is simply named GT-R.

you're not understanding what Nissan did. the Skyline is not a supercar... the GTR is. that right there says this is a completely new car. Even Nissan states that on there website. Also, the MX-5... yes, they don't say "Miata" on the back BUT Mazda calls it the MX-5 Miata... Nissan does NOT call the new GTR, the Skyline GTR. there is no statement on the Nissan website that says this is the new Skyline, only that it has borrowed the GTR herritage in a new form. it is a completely new car.

if you dont think it is a continuation of the skyling gtr name, look at the rear end. quad taillights means one of two things, corvette or skyline, you take your pick but my money is on it being the skyline. plus its designation is R35, the 03-07 standard skyline is the V35, the old gtr and standard were all r32, r33 r34, and here we are. plus if you look close there are standard skyline styling cues in it. its a Skyline

@Haik000 thats what I thought, I took it for a test drive, "here are some random persons thought on it" ok first off I Ioved the power that thing is really fast, but the noise is just to much for every day, you would probably get shell shock from that engine if you drove it everyday, and the ride quality is shit, you can really feel every bumb on the road, not exaggerated. This car has showed me that a race car can not be your everday car. I say wait untill your mid ages b4 buying it.
