  • I just finished the cutest pair.. and because I made the bear hat I made some bear heads to sew to the shoe and it's absolutely adorable, I bet my sister in law is gonna love them :) thanks so much for sharing your talents !!! xxx love from australia

  • Hi, do you have video tutorial to make gloves with fingers? thx

  • Ms Theresa you ROCK!!! I've been crocheting for - wow! 36 years & I thought I had certain things down. I've not had a chance in all that time to try certain things either like socks and booties. Watching & doing your videos has not only [re]taught me a lot you've also taught me some new tricks & remove my fear/apprehensions about trying things, they've also removed the mystery out of techniques & pieces I've struggled with or only did/saw one way. Thanks for your work & "making" things simple!!!

  • @RunWayUnderground I appreciate you watching and your kind words. Thank you.

  • Thanks,Teresa,a lot of thanks! You are great .I have done various thinks for my kids .The language of your videos is very understandable.I love you!

  • @ANTISEMITIZM You are so kind, thank you.

  • Are there 2 types of HDC? I saw you using a HDC in a different way in the foundations stitch and different one in the other stitches. That is, in the foundation stitch you get once you get 4 loops you brought one loop through the other and then again you wrapped the loop again and brought it through the other three. Whereas with the other stitches you didn't follow the 1st step. Why is that?? I am a bit confused.

  • @Freelifewonder There is only one Half Double Crochet. What you are referring to is the foundation half double crochet, which is a replacement for the chain. The foundation stitch is done only at the beginning of the project.

  • @tjw1963 Thank you very much... I started making these booties :-)

  • I really want to learn how to make these bootie's, are these the easiest to start with? It's a bit fast..I'm a beginner

  • How do you make these boots bigger like a size 6?;o i think theyd be super cute to wear?:O

  • me gusta pero en ingles no entiendo nada este video no lo hay el mismo en español. gracias

  • first of all, i pray that you continue doing all these videos to share to all your fans. i have stumbled to your youtube channel several months back while looking for a pattern for my child's afghan project. i found a pattern alright which won 2nd place in a recent students' convention. what's best is i have made several of these booties for my granddaughter which my daughter loved so much and are so proud to show around and as gifts to friends who were expecting. you are truly a blessing!

  • hi, first of all, i pray that you continue doing all these videos to share to all your fans. i have stumbled to your youtube channel several months back while looking for a pattern for my child's afghan project. i found a pattern alright which won 2nd place in a recent students' convention. what's best is i have made several of these booties for my granddaughter which my daughter loved so much and are so proud to show around and as gifts to friends who were expecting. you are truly a blessing!

  • i made these booties, to make them larger i just made 12 hdc foundation sts nad added 2 to every other instruction, they turned out well and will be a greast addition to the hat and mittens i made for a friend of mines baby girl

  • @sarahjane12808 Great suggestion for making the booties larger

  • Hi Teresa, started the booties and was going good until I got to the 2nd rnd of front and back hdc. when you chained one stitch, did you turn or did you continue over the top of the bootie going all the way around? kind of got confused about which way to continue. thank you

  • great video thank you so much for sharing it. i made my very first booties ever following you right along. i asked so many people to show me and no one ever could

  • @zaprs Thank you. I am happy you have learned to crochet.

  • Teresa, I was in a panic last night and couldn't do the hdc foundation. After much frustration I thought just look up hdc foundation--she'll have a video on it!! I found the video before I found your reply (window was out of view), calmed down, and made a hdc foundation. I still can't do the hdc foundation very well, so I do the chain with hdc. I finished the 2 bottoms, now I'm starting matching the tops.

  • @ytcmnt The chain will work the same as the foundation HDC. The foundation stitch is just another technique.

  • Please show how to recognize and count 8 hdc foundation stitches. They are barely distinguishable.

And I can't see where the loops are at the bottom of the stitch! Get a different camera angle.

A loop is made in the stitch, but is that the loop that is the bottom of the stitch??? Or is the loop part of the hdc?

Please make a clearer video on how to make hdc foundation stitches.

That would be nice and helpful. Thank you.

  • @ytcmnt I do have a video showing the foundation half double crochet. I will send you the link!

  • You skipped something. You skipped something. You skipped something. You have 2 chains and then you have 3 chains! How did you get 3 chains?!?!?!!?

  • @tjw1963 I just made these booties and they are adorable. I am a super beginner. They did not come out perfect, but good enough for me :) How would I make these a little bit bigger for my toddler? Are there any books you would suggest a beginner read? I've made several of your hats, and they all come out "pretty" good. Thank you so much for sharing your talent! Have you ever made a diaper cover? I want to make one to match the hat and booties I just made.

  • um.. hello

thank you so much for posting all these videos ..

they're totally great and awesome !

you can say that am your number one fan >///<

i just wanna ask .. if i want to make the same bootie but for an adult ,.. is that possible ?

and if it's about increasing the stitches .. how many stitches i must add !

    thank you so much ..

  • @xxMyBloodyMindxx The whole pattern would need modified for an adult foot

  • I made a pair for both of my twin nephews, although on of them seems to think its a phone XD the other one tries to keep them both for himself. Its funny seeing them talking in baby language to each other.

  • Amazing! Thank you so much for all of your tutorials! I'm due in September and I'm stuck on bedrest. All I can do to keep from going crazy is crochet stuff for the baby. Your videos are so easy to follow and so helpful! Thank you!!!!!

  • Once again..Fantastic! I love these ...They turned out sooo cute!!

  • @tjw1963 thanks! I'm expecting and would really love to make those booties

  • @Riiyona Congratulations! I bet the booties will be cute on your anticipated arrival.

  • Your video is very confusing and you go way too fast to follow at all

  • @Riiyona I will send you the beginner playlist of stitches

  • @Riiyona i do agree with u, as a beginner myself, but u can stop and replay as many times as u want

  • i made one of these but it turned out too tight...i think it would be hard to squeeze a baby's feet into it...oh well...i'll try again some other time! ^_^ thanks for the share

  • @Phaythful Use a larger crochet hook to increase the size of the bootie

  • @tjw1963 i meant the bootie turned out right...but the leg area was too tight. No Worries...i'll make another one and just fix my mistakes!!! ^_^

  • @Phaythful You can work extra stitches on the cuff so it is a bit looser

  • i dont understand what two loops your talking about?

  • @stefanierose88 What row are you working on?

  • i really appericate all your videos they are helping me learn a lot, thanks :-)

  • @stefanierose88 You are welcome!

  • @stefanierose88 You are welcome!

  • Teresa, do you have the left-handed version to this video. I am making a baby outfit and these booties are just what I need to finish the project. Also, can you use granny square stitches to make these booties?

  • @FIGGYWOMAN The left hand version is shown as a blue annotation link, in the first 15 seconds of this video.

  • @FIGGYWOMAN You can modify and use different crochet stitches.

  • When i first started to croshet my mama tought me the double croshet an i couldnt do it then she remeber i was a begginer . :/

  • thanks

  • en castellano por favro

  • I don't get the thing about creating the stitch from the bottom. That's confusing.

  • hey could you send me the playlist with the beginer stiches please:)

  • @TheAng3lyk The beginner crochet stitch playlist is on the way.

  • what should I do if I want to make it adult size I am like size 6-7 (American). Thank you for all your creative work.

  • for me just learning how to crochet the bootie, I have to stop the video numerous times to watch you do these stitiches. If I was to just listen, I would never get it cause "wrapping the yarn over " , doesnt explain where the hook and yarn are going, I love to listen to videos to learn new things..maybe if you would say wrap the yarn over before going into next stitch, would be more clear when it happens...just a suggestion... these booties are really cute thanks......

  • @57johns If you are new to crochet, I recommend that you learn the basic stitches first. That will be very helpful in creating all the projects I have posted.

  • @57johns I sent you the playlist with beginner crochet stitches.

  • Can the toe on this bootie be applied to the toe of the Mary Jane shoes you make?

  • @amandamcmom Give it a try and see if it works.

  • @dankimforde You can use a larger hook. Keep in mind this will make a larger bootie. There will be trial and error involved with modifications related to leaving off the cuff and adding a strap.

  • Can i use 3-ply yarn for these booties?

  • @luthenia2233 You can use 3 ply yarn but the outcome of the bootie will be smaller.

  • @tjw1963 what size crochet hook would you recommend to use if i use 3-ply yarn?

  • @luthenia2233 Hook size, D-E-F will work with 3-ply yarn.

  • how can i be sure of the right side and the wrong side?

    thanks

  • Loved ur videos Teresa! I wanted to make booties for my little one who is yet to come :) However was so confused with the written instructions in a book. Ur videos were of great help. Do u also hv videos explaining knitting for beginners?

  • @1rajimrv Thank you. I'm sorry but I do not know how to knit.

  • Hola la saludo desde Venezuela me parecen muy buenos sus videos y aunque no entiendo el ingles su enseñanza me llega y la entiendo perfectamente usted es una excelente maestra que DIOS la bendiga

  • I really wanted to make this bootie and the other one you posted too that has the button on it. but no luck with either one. :-( i dont know why but i cant get the bottom even. it always ends up lop-sided! any advice....

  • @Godstrophyofgrace I suggest counting to make sure the amount of stitches are correct on each side. If it is coming out lopsided, that will indicate an uneven amount of stitches on one side. Keep practicing and you will get it. Sometimes it helps to work on something else and then come back to this project. As you continue to practice, it all starts to make more sense.

  • I can't wait to get started making these!!

  • You are best teacher...!! Thanks for all great video.

  • thank you for your effort ,,, I've just made one red bootie with your help ^^ ... it looks great but not as professional as yours ... love u <3

  • @hkr1986 You are welcome. Keep practicing and your work will keep getting better. :)

  • Very simple, elegant and practical bootie. Can these booties be crochet in a smoother yarn?

  • @princess0553 You can use any yarn.

  • I just made a pair of these booties for a baby shower. They were a hit. Not too many handmade gifts are given anymore. Thanks for teaching us all. You're a great teacher.

  • Is the cuff stretchy? It looks too small to fit the foot through?

  • It is stretchy. The ribbing stitch is made with quite a lot of stretch to it. If you made it any larger, my thought would be that it would fall off.

  • can you teach us with the symbol.. I can't read the symbol in the book

  • I do teach symbols on my crochet blog. I also have a video highlighting a few symbols.

  • ok, i'll find it.. thanks a lot.. The beginner need a Master likes you (^. ~)

  • Hi magic hands, love your tutorial. Thanks and regards.

  • You are welcome. I appreciate the comment.

  • is it possible to do...adult booties? i know it sounds funny....i guess they would be slippers....but is it possible?

  • Thank you theresa, from you I learn more style of crochet. Doing crochet is more fun and fun now!

  • You are welcome.

  • Theresa,

I can't seem to follow a baby sweater pattern for a girl for the life of me. Can you do a video on one?

  • I do not have a pattern of my own written up. I could do a pattern if someone gives me permission for one they already have written up.

  • Teresa, you are a wonderful teacher. I am mostly a needle and loom knitter and have done baby sweaters and as for crochet I only do tunisian crochet and have not found booties pattern on tunisian. My first grandaughter in on the way and I would do anything for her. I will also crochet a pair of these of each color of the sweaters I have done for her. Thank you so much!!!!! I just finished the first bootie in less than an hour. Maria

  • Thank you, I appreciate the comment. Congratulations on becoming a grandma soon!! How exciting!!

  • Thank you. The sole and sides are similar to the baby high tops. I started these smaller since many people request newborn size and something for boys.

  • Thank you for this !

  • You are welcome.
