  • I love how everyone has been hacking on President Obama the second he took hold of presidency. The man has accomplished more in his role as president than our former president. Bush had screwed our country over one to many times. Then Obama comes in the picture tries to stitch back our country together and we viciously attack the man. as if he had been the one who destroyed our country to begin with. the message you people send is very clear. RACISM. I'm only a 15 year old boy.

  • It is not sound science by a long way! Obama! do your research! Stem cell Therapy? Beware you could Die from it! They give you Chemotherapy to wipe out tour immune system first! But It also could wipe you out. As it Has done with others! Dr Freedman of Ottawa Killed one of just 29 in a very expensive 4m and er very small study. a Type 1 science study error! I have MS and will never have this as a guinea pig

  • Mr oblama has been president for over a year. And with this signing, giving Billions into this research, I want to see: An accounting of every dollar, The progress made and the realistic breakthroughs in this stem cell research.

  • @Unklebillybob here's the link to the progress made trough stem-cells

    watch?v=IL2h0IpyEZk

  • @TOTCD The link you provided produces an ERROR Message.

The query is not about Stem Cell Research. The entire discussion is about The Successes of Embryonic Stem Cell Research.

Therefore, TOTCD, Please provide the proof of ESCR Successes. I'll wait.

  • @Unklebillybob Wait I'll give you one.

  • @TOTCD I'm Waiting, Tic, tic, tic ... That's 6 hours, now.

While you're researching the ESCR Successes, also research the ASCR Successes. Keep a listing of both columns

  • @Unklebillybob Sorry dude I am studying for my exams.

I just log in to check my inbox and new vids.

    I'm going to research now.

  • @TOTCD In that event,,, wait on the research. Finish your class studies, first. I will wait until your exams are finished. BTW, good luck.

  • "Tell the people the truth and the country is safe"

hESC research is at best unethical and is in fact a cost-prohibitive form of cannibalism of our youngest.

Do not allow a corporation to own any living human individual at ANY stage of its life cycle.( a 13th amendment violation )

Development of mature infant cells must remain under the control of the women of the US, not the corporations of the US.

    "A lie cannot live"

    Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • @oran6es

The embryo used for the research is dead, it does not constitute as "living", fucking idiot. Furthermore stop quoting others that have got nothing to do with the argument, surely more than 1% of your brain is active during the day. WTF are women gonna do with their aborted babies, keep them in a jar as souvenirs? Are you fucking serious? Instead of using them to benefit humanity you are against such a thing due to some nonsense you believe.

  • @ContemplateYourLife INCORRECT. The embryos used for research are frozen alive blastocysts, thawed and kept alive, then split apart, cultured and developed with nutrients and stimulants, into mature (infant) living cells/body parts. Benefit to humanity? What part of humanity? It's simply the abuse of one group of humans by another. Plain and simple. Don't be afraid of the truth. Embrace it, and have a great day.

  • @oran6es well we get the living humans from abortions that men and women dont want

    for some reasons

..i agree with stem cell research i hate bush and i like al gore

  • jb, As for President oblama, he is totally unqualified to even be a senator, let alone, be President of the United States. And why do I say that? Look at his experience:

He has never held a real job. He has never run a business. He has never had to make a budget. He knows nothing about foreign affairs. He has never been associated with any military organization. He is, without his teleprompter, LOST. In short, mr oblama would be called a big time bull-shitter and an empty suit.

  • jb, Sticks & Stones, Sticks & Stones. I oppose mr oblama's lack of experience & his poor judgement. If he were able to perform the job as President, I could care less what race he is. However, he has proven to be unable to accomplish any part of his job. Your statement that our current president is the best president we've had in years is simply an untrue statement.

I'm a retired United States Marine, and I can tell you that mr oblama is no friend to the soldiers, veterans or The DOD.

  • As opposed to Dubya, who was not even a decent "bull-shitter", although he tried. As for the military, Dubya did more to demoralize and destroy it that any pres. in history by getting us into the useless and unnecessary Iraq War and busting the budget in the process

  • Busting the budget? Hell, mr oblama has done more to harm the US Budget, in less than a year, than Bush was able to do in 8 years. However, none of that really matters, because it was the 2006 dumocrat congress that drove us down this horrible financial path, which mr oblama was a member of. And today, Mr Bush is not President, but, oblama is, and he is doing a horrible job.

As I've said, he has no experience, but can talk.

  • That's "Obama", with a capital "O" and without the "l". In addition, Bush had no experience, even after 8 years, and could not speak the English language as well as most 6th graders.

But we digress. When cures and treatments eventually come due to ESCR, I hope you will have amended your living will to avoid receiving such treatments. That's my advice to folks who have a problem with that or any other life saving procedures. Then your mind can be at ease.

  • This is not about Bush. But, Bush did have 5 years experience as governor of the state of Texas. That one job is 5 years more than barrack. However, It's about barrack's lack of experience to run anything.

You indicated you had 32 years in the USARs. Which could mean you should have obtained a certain level of administrative authority/responsibility. Now, take a look at our current president. If he came to you looking for a job of responsibility, what would impress you about his resume?

  • jb(continued)

Back to ESCR, then. Do you know why ESCR hasn't worked, isn't working and will probably never work? It's because the ESCs cannot be controlled. And as of today, the only thing that the ESCR has produced is tumors. Don't believe me, just take a look at the research. Your statement; "That's my advise to folks who have a problem with that or any other life saving procedures." ESCR has never produced any life saving procedures. However, review ASCR and see the results it has.

  • No jb, ESCR has not just begun in the USA. Where have you been? We've been working on ESCR since 1981 and, just so you know, there has not been anyone that has stopped ESCR, since billie clinton.

Who was the first US President to allow ESCR? What were the limitations on using discarded fetuses, and when did it begin?

    It appears you're confusing history.

  • mr oblama got a free ride through collage via, AA. He's not the definition of the American Dream, , , What would be a more appropriate definition would be that he's a fence post turtle.

When I view his resume, I can smile at him being able to complete college, but I am not impressed with his work history after college.

  • I'm not impressed by anyone who surfs his or her way through college using AA as it's main driving force.

  • Yes, let them amend their living wills to exclude any cure to a teminal disease which was developed using ESC research.. And now that researchers are free to explore, those cures and treatments are coming.

  • gb & jb, exactly what terminal disease(s) have been, or are even being cured today by ESCR?

  • None that I know of. Which ones have been cured by ASCR?

  • jb, You are correct on no cures or help coming from ESCR. As for the second half of the question,,, have you had any time to reviews the successes of ASCR?

  • I am a Parkinson's patient and am well acquainted with the prospects for ESCR. My neurologist is a nationally known researcher at the large university near my home. ALL legitimate researchers welcome Obama's decision to release federal funds(previously budgeted) for ESCR research. Do you have the same opposition to federal research into cures for other diseases using other means? Why would you be so fundamentally opposed to THIS specific type research? Or do you just dislike Pres. Obama?

  • It wouldn't matter who the President of the United States was. ESCR has been, is and will continue to be, not only a waste of money, but an absolute waste of researcher's time. The only thing researchers will be able to accomplish with ESC's would be to create life threatening tumors.

I do not oppose research monies being spent on successful research, only on research that is wasting our tax money.

As for President oblama, I will continue my thoughts ,,,,ABOVE

  • I like what Ron Paul said about this subject...nowhere in the constitution does it say that the government has a right to interfere in matters such as this. It should be up to the state & it should be up to the market. So Bush & Obama are wrong for interfering in the first place.

  • The fact that these excess fertilzed eggs are created in Invitro clinics does not seem to bother anyone. So, let's put these clinics out of business and no excess blastocysts will be available for any purpose, including helping childless couples conceive.,

  • In the purest sense of the truth, the obtaining, ownership, culturing, coaxing of human beings at there earliest stage of development, with intent to implant mature portions of said human beings into others by corporations or other groups of humans, is a violation of the 13th amendment of the constitution of the United States of America.

    Have a great evening.

  • Oran - Don't forget the 5Th Amendment, too.

    UBB

  • Cannibalism ain't cool, Barry.

Killing Peter to cure Paul is not progress.

  • well at least your more informed than most people that is is not banned, but goverment funding banned. The free market will invest in what works or has promise. People are greedy and will invest in what works.

  • We're not all the way done with the human genome yet. It has taken roughly half a century to get where we are now. I really doubt there will be cures for anything until around 2050 at best. He even said around :25 in that no one really knows what we're gonna do with it.

I hate it when science gets politicized.

  • Politicized? Dubya started it..

  • vit - Instead of wasting money on the Failed ESCR, why doesn't mr oblama invest in the Proven, Successful ASCR? Answer; he's pandering to his liberal constitutents.

  • "Adult stem cells are virtually worthless.." Please! We've seen the positive results of ASCR successes.

And as for the statement of "ESC ... could work miracles..." WELL, you're right on one point. ESCs, theoretically could cure anything. But, in actuality, they have NEVER, EVER cured anything. And, I don't want to hear about a child from some hidden village in outer mongolia. If you think any quad has been cured with ESCs then I want to see the post injury MRI and the current MRI.

  • They haven't cured anything YET. The funding ban was JUST lifted so it's kind of dumb to say what you just did don't you think?

  • Kic - Stem Cell Research has been ongoing for decades. ~ Eleven years ago, the first ESC was isolated. There has been no ban on research in this field, either in the United States, or the entire world. As for funding, take a look at how much California has earmarked for ESCR. Therefore, ESCR has never stopped.

Kic - Take a few minutes and research why ESCR isn't working. Then get back to me.

  • I know all about that and I never said the research was banned just government funding. You are right that escr has not cured anything, but that's just because of the funding ban. If that retarded ban was never put in place then there may have been cures. You can try arguing that escr is dangerous as it can cause new cancers to form and is difficult to control but give the researches more time before you say that escr is going to fail since the possibilities of cures due to escr is limitless.

  • Kic - Did you know, it was President Bush who allowed ESCR Lines to be utilized, in the first place? But, that's a mute point. oblama has authorized Billions toward ESCR,,, So, we'll see what results come from spending that much money.

As for Teratomas, There is no arguing about what causes teratomas.

Finally, In theory, and only in theory, ESC cures are limitless. Spend some time in the lab and see what happens when those escs are being coaxed into any desired result.

  • Kic - One of my main points, is that ASCR is currently helping those people who are in need of Stem Cell Therapy. You see ASC Therapy is working, Today, not in 5, 10, 20 or even never Years, but today.

  • jb, since the USA is so far behind the world in ESCR, then that would mean that there are tremendous successes, through-out the scientific world, in ESCR. But, just for Ss & Gs, please post this huge list of;

ESCR successes, the doctors involved in those research successes and the medical journals that have published all of those successes.

    Retrofit,,, Nice word.

  • If retrofit is too much for you, let's just say "re-do". The point is I know several researchers at a major research university nearby, and they are overjoyed by Obama's decision to free fed. money for ESCR. I would think most researchers would share that view.

  • jb, we will agree that there are some government grant-chasing researchers that are over joyed at the prospect of getting millions of free dollars from the federal government. But, I doubt that most researchers want to pursue a failing science.

  • jb, these two questions are just for you:

In what year did ESCR Begin?

In what year did ASCR Begin?

You must live in a very small world, if you think that the majority of scientists & researchers applaude oblama's decision.

  • See summary reply above.

  • jb, "See summary reply above."

    It didn't post.

  • "At this moment the full promise of stem cell research remains unknown, and it should not be overstated."

So, what then, does mr oblama do? He funds ESCR and takes all federal money away from the most successful stem cell research,,,ASCR.

What a liar,,, NO, what a damn liar you are mr oblama. Keep this crap up, mr oblama,,, just keep the lies coming.

  • Barry, you forgot "to allow the blind to see". While making false promises for cures for just about everything, (because it's a popular thing to do), why not throw in the kitchen sink? Sure, leave out what a teratoma looks like, ignore the life cycle of a human being (as defined in every embryology textbook). Why not?

  • have to go now

Going to hand out about 1000 new flyers.

Everyone always Google Tom Heneghan & Stew Webb to keep up to date where the media doesn't.

Footnote: I have been invited to Astoria where I was last spring & also to McCarren Park which I was at last year too.

I love Queens & Brooklyn as well.

Check out again Google Jane Bowell Brooklyn bridge & the link to The Passion of the Christ

I look forward to working with Mel Gibson & also with many associated with Jesus Christ Superstar!!!

  • Friends, please google "life cycle of a human being". You will see that an individual's human existence begins at conception, 3 days later 150 cells, 5 days later, thousands, embryos, fetus, newborn, child, adult. At what point is it okay in an individuals existence to be owned by a lab, a corporation, with intent to be destroyed and sold as parts?

  • He changed back again on Wednesday when he signed the omnibus bill. Article 509 page 280 states that no funds may be used for research in which embryos are destroyed or discarded or knowingly subjected to risk or injury or death.

"The proper course" has indeed become clear.

  • I just noticed. Why did he use six different pens (or change pens six different times) to sign the executive order? Talk about a waste of pens...

  • hehe

  • Yet another excuse for abortion to be condoned.

  • This is not Abortion. Obama isw a toll for the new world order but this is the smartest thing he and his administration has done yet.

  • for catholics this might as well be abortion. they see it as human from conception.

that's where most of the opposition comes from I think

  • yes, and i agree that conception equals life, not a Catholic though, however, stem cfell research will not cause people to abort children nor will they start a fetus farm for this research. The research is very important but I don't believe that the elite will let us have the technology.

  • "I don't believe that the elite will let us have the technology."

how the heck would they stop you? and why? I'm sure it will be to expensive for most blue collar guys to afford simply because it's a new technology, but I don't see how anyone is actively preventing you from having it

  • You would be amazed at the technology they do have and are keeping from the general public, free energy, anti gravity, Genetic healing. If this sounds crazy to you I beg you to do the research. Start with Alex Jones, but, don't believe him, check what he says for yourself. You will be shocked and yes it is true.

  • aggggghhhaaaaa!

  • Hello

  • Thank god somebody who is truly intelligent and brilliant is in charge of one of our worlds great powers

  • I agree with you firenzedan. Alot of good can be done with stem cells. The people that are opposed to it stick to one point and only one point...they think mass cloning will start.. I think scientists have better things to do than to start mass cloning people.

  • Abortion should be banned.
