Wow. Yes I am a Delta and thanks for your concern but what I "SHOULD" be doing is expressing my opinion about how I feel. DST does not need to encourage anyone to do anything. If it isn't in their heart then don't even apply. I feel that I uphold my sorority very well. If there are women who are striving for DST I am sure they are not going to let one youtube video discourage them. If they do, as I said earlier, it is NOT in their hearts.

Well, I AM A DELTA and in OUR books it strickly tells us NOT TO CURSE IN DELTA GEAR! It misrepresents what we stand for and gives the wrong impression. CLEARLY, cursing in Delta gear is unacceptable.

I am not putting anyone down. I just do not feel that cursing in your paraphernalia is the best way to represent your organization. Just because another organization does something (that I don't agree with) does not mean we should follow suit. As I said I am not putting anyone down I am trying to uplift my sorority. This is quite embarrassing. As many of my Sorors have stated previously, this is not the image of DST as a whole. The language and behavior reflected in this video is not in communion with what my 22 visioned when they created DST. I've seen many of videos on YT that depict other sororities behaving and using language just as worse. However, this is no excuse. Ladies please do not curse, drink, or behave unladylike while wearing your letters. This is for all sorority BGLO.

WOW--what would the founders think about that?! Delta Sigma Theta was founded by 22 collegiate women--at the top of their classes. Sophisticated ladies, of elegance and class. Who set examples as they endeavored in their personal and professional lives--through their devotion to scholarship, sisterhood, and service.
I understand that sororities have standards but The Deltas are just strolling and having fun cut them so slack. Plus no one owns to be all prissy in pink and green. I still want to be a Delta and not just be because of how they step but for what they stand for
I am concerned with most of the comments posted on this site. Interestingly enough, the rudest and crudest comments are coming from young women who aspire to join this sorority. As a member of the Divine 9 (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.), let me assure you being a part of a greek organization is NOT about being "krunk". We (sororities) should be careful in how we present ourselves and represent our beloved organizations in our strolls.
It is okay to have fun but when you are representing something that stands for class, integrity and pride you are supposed to act in that matter. No matter which sorority, their colors, calls, or purpose this was very innapropriate

Shameka I think you will understand that member's concern when (or if) you become Greek. dchosenfew is a part of the organization you wish to join. She has EVERY right to express concern. There are certain things you can't do while wearing your letters. Cursing is one of them.

In other words, they should be held to higher standards, and portray images better than what we see which is negative in the newspapers and on tv. Booty-shaking and cursing, in my opinion, should not be allowed in any of the strolling/stepping, it sends a negative message. I know there's a different " culture", but still, all members of the Divine Nine should be held, and potray a higher standard

I am appalled and shocked at this unclassy display by the distinguished ladies of DST. LAWD LAWD LAWD LAWD LAWD! The "Divine Nine" do so much in their communities, and all of the groups are supposed to bring positivity and should be examples for those (both young and old, but particularly the young people who look up to members of these groups.

I believe everyone is an adult so if you all are upset with language choice you really need to calm down. Is it really that big a deal?? No. So just chill out...Goodness...Cant do good for people trying to put you down. All these young ladies are in college and at least they are involved in something so that they can become better women. Lets quit the hating and taunting and learn to lift each other up in praise for whats being done that is good.

It is not about hate or taunting at all. I am so proud that they are in college and taking life to another level. But, for me the bottom line is that the young ladies are representing a national organization in a manner that is inappropriate. Correction is not hate. It is just indicating when something is out of order.

Who set examples as they endeavored in their personal and professional lives--through their devotion to scholarship, sisterhood, and service.

I am concerned with most of the comments posted on this site. Interestingly enough, the rudest and crudest comments are coming from young women who aspire to join this sorority. As a member of the Divine 9 (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.), let me assure you being a part of a greek organization is NOT about being "krunk". We (sororities) should be careful in how we present ourselves and represent our beloved organizations in our strolls.

Shameka I think you will understand that member's concern when (or if) you become Greek. dchosenfew is a part of the organization you wish to join. She has EVERY right to express concern. There are certain things you can't do while wearing your letters. Cursing is one of them.

And they are right you are not suppose to curse or drink in you letters. With that mouth of yours you should get it together before you think of pledging Delta because we look for finer women. In other words, they should be held to higher standards, and portray images better than what we see which is negative in the newspapers and on tv. Booty-shaking and cursing, in my opinion, should not be allowed in any of the strolling/stepping, it sends a negative message. I know there's a different " culture", but still, all members of the Divine Nine should be held, and potray a higher standard

I am appalled and shocked at this unclassy display by the distinguished ladies of DST. LAWD LAWD LAWD LAWD LAWD! The "Divine Nine" do so much in their communities, and all of the groups are supposed to bring positivity and should be examples for those (both young and old, but particularly the young people who look up to members of these groups.
