Yea in the orignal Gold & Silver version, this battle is VERY UNFAIR considering your Pokemon won't nearly as strong as Red's at that point of the game. Unless you knew Red was going to be their with Pokemon over level 70, than YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS KICKED.

I beat Red today. I had my team on lv.80, and i didn't even have to use two of my pokémon. My team was like this:

Absol (took out Pikachu with 1 sucker punch)

Skarmory (managed to put up a good fight against Venusaur, until he fainted from a critical frenzy plant)

Lanturn (defeated [what was left of] Venusaur, Charizard, and crippled Snorlax with thunder wave)

Machamp (defeated Snorlax, Lapras AND Blastoise, after Lanturn weakened him)

Alakazam

Typhlosion

in pokemon fire red and leaf green, after you fight the champion and finish the game and after the credits, it should trigger one last battle. it will have a cutscene of you in mt. silver, and based on your gender, (Red = Ethan comes, Blue = Lyra comes) someone familiar will come and challenge you, that is the first tiem you have a dialogue box. and in it it has. ............. ....... ... . . . . ., so then you will have the awesome music and same pokemon as red and beat the shit out of ethan!

@jetstyle74 Pikachu was easy to take down. I used a Rhyhorn that I had just caught. Of course it was part Ground, but it says something about Pikachu's defenses that I 2HKO'ed it after it had used Charm twice and the Rhyhorn was about 40 levels under it...

@monkeyseevideosful If you played the original Gold and Silver versions back in 2000 I think (Might not be exact release date) you should get the Heartgold and Soulsilver re-make. Trust me these re-makes will have you drowning in nostalgia. However if you wan't something new and fresh, I'd recommend getting Black or White. They aren't bad either.
