Clearance when closed looks sexy. And Straight.I can't order anything more yet I'm at a fair amount. But I would love one . I'll wait til you do another lot .
good stuff! i cant imagine how much more time and effort goes into one of these over a fixed blade. Bet you could bang out 5 or so fixed knives in the time it tales to do one of these.
@27dcx not quite.. but nearly.. A Large part of the reason I've spent so long making this happen is experimenting with methods and design to reduce all the hassle of making and assembling them reliably.. There is still a large amount of fiddling to be done on each knife compared to a fixed blade though.
Can you get that just as easily with a cheap knife, the standard 440A/420J2 blade? Those were the ones I lasted worked with and had issues with edge bias. You have me curious now to figure out how to do it properly, I still have a few of the smooth steels around.
@CliffStamp I quickly reground a victorinox solider and went through the same process and effort level I do on my O1 and AEBL. for the same effort it could pop hair with a push-draw slice down the leg.. Its even on both sides of the blade, but both sides are equally inferior for the level of effort. the softer steel requires an even lighter touch to obtain a good popping edge.
@knivesandstuff I was hoping you would have some measure of difficulty there so I could blame past experience on the steel itself. I will have to add steeling to the kitchen knife comparative work and see how it effects the time between honing and edge retention. Are you working at close to the as ground angle?
@CliffStamp I'm not sure what angles I'm on.. when I hone with my steel (which is a smooth one) I raise the angle a few degrees to help push it straight. on a normal kitchen steel I'd match the angle because its cutting steel off. (if thats what you meant)
Wow Kyley, I have never given much thought to friction folders. But, if I were to get one, it would be a CKC without a doubt. Just the size and build quality makes it head and shoulders above others I have seen. Great job.

@eightgeorge Not Sure the exact weight. Its solid though, and its cutting performance is excellent as I wanted it to be for wood.
