Thanks for this video. I am a second time leukaemia patient once when I was five then I have been re-diagnosed about 5 weeks ago. I have already had one port this time round but due to infection they had to remove it and I got it put in my pectoral muscle. It's bait sore right now but it will settle. At some point my dad will have to access my port but this video has made me want to do it myself. Good luck with your treatment.

At 05:40 you pushed air (non sterile air) in the empty sterile syringe then at 05:48 you pushed that non sterile air into the sterile heparin vial. I am not in the medical filed what so ever and I could be wrong but do you think this is an OK (sterile) technique? Best regards.
Great video! I also have CF and just received my first port about a month and a half ago. I just started to learn to access myself last Monday. Next Monday I'll have to do it on my own without my nurse watching, so your video is very helpful. Not only for teaching, but also making it look so easy and making me think to myself "I can do this, it's easy!"

We uses a different needle in Australia, yours looks easier, especially on a two year old!
