I have been lucky enough to own a Wolfie & they are wonderful family dogs. Loyal, protective, playful - absolutely amazing. Ours was a couch potato & believed he was a lap dog! After I had my first daughter, he stopped sleeping in my room & always slept outside her nursery - had to get past him to get to her - he adored his little girls. Have photos of them sitting snuggled against him,one small hand intwined in his rough coat the other hand on their bottle ... With him just smiling away. Can't

I have one of their dogs. He's a year and half now and the MOST lovable dog I have ever had. Absolutely NO health probs. Their lines have very few of the health problems you hear about.

Larger dogs have shorter life spans but hers seem to have fairly normal life spans. I could not recall a truly early death and many have lived up to 11 years old.

He and our German Shepherd are the centers of our world.  Thank you, Cindy, for a wonderful puppy.

Nice dogs. I have never been a huge fan of them until recently. I have been reading Dean Koontz's 'Breathless' which has an Irish as a main character. It made me re-evaluate my position!

@kansasflash Can Irish Wolfhounds actually kill Wolves? Because i read that they went extinct but were re-created. But doesn't that mean they were bred for looks?

They weigh much more than a Wolf though, so they probably would be pretty strong.

My first two hounds....sadly are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge..and my current Xena. People can talk about labs, goldens, etc...untl one owns a Wolfhound

they cannot be truely be appreicated for the wonderful family dogs they are...I have decided Xena will be our last. The heartache when they are no longer with us, as with any pet is very tough. My hounds I would say tough x10. Thanks for sharing the video....

I have 3 Great Danes, and I really love the look of the Wolfhounds..I've steered away from them due to cost to purchase. But they look like lovers..great video! Kudos!

i was at a show and there was Irish Wolfhound it was real big i love em my dog bonds really well with big giant dog he has an irish wolfhound friend named zenny shes a small one though

i saw one of these dogs cross german shepherd pups at the pet shop today and their teeth were already so sharp and i love these dogs and german shepherds and if dad would let me i would so get one of those puppies they were the bomb
