One of the comenters, "chaunsycuba", mentioned that if water gets on it , it can turn white. Has that happend to you? Also, the date is now 3/22/2011, and I would like to know how it is holding up. Has there been any peeling, or other problems since its been over a year now??? I apreciate any thoughts or advise that you can give. Thank you.
This is exactly what I was planning to do? Is there a website I can check out for ideas? Did you start with just a coat of black? Sponges? Brushes? Please let me know
I used a sponge roller to apply black paint. 1-2 coats
then I used sea sponges to apply gold and silver granite look. Then I apply 3-5 coats with polyurethane brushes of water based miniwax gloss acrylic polycrylic.
Did you use layers of the clear coat in between the acrylic paint to give it an appearance of depth?

I have to say that looks amazing. It looks just like Granite. Could you list the brands and color paint you used.

You left off the part of HOW to faux finish the counter top.

It's holding up much better than expected. By no means is it a permanent solution. But it's saving us lots of money for the 20.00 I spent to do it.

Please closer, better lit shots of the countertop, less video of the can of paint ;-)
Wish you showed applying the colors. How is it holding up?

@thatpat1 I have no one to video while painting it. I used sponges to get the effect. Thanks for watching.
