To get it to work on Win 7, go to properties and change the compatibility to Win 7, then run as administrator :D

@oboynarkomanen Im running it on Win7 x64 with no problems, i needed to edit the config.ini though and manualy set the resolution for 22" wide monitor

How did you get this to work on Windows 7? I have it on Steam, but I don't know how to get it to work. It just shows the cursor making a loading symbol, and simply stops and nothing happens, :P.

Try looking for "UBI Fix" in Google. The download version is slightly different then the DVD version. This fix sets it right then you can add the patches and mods.

@Wailwulf Alright thanks dude. I got the game running, but can't get the aircraft mod working. I want to fly a B-17, lol. Although I get a lot of other planes, I'm simply trying to fly ones like the B-17 and B-25...

Sorry, all I know about HSFX is I am seeding it on Torrent. Haven't flown it.  I fly UltraPack when on the servers and the UBI Fix is needed for that one also..

I do understand your frustration as my favorite plane is the B-24 Bomber.

@Wailwulf Yea, my bad I meant the B-24. I'll try out the UBI Fix, because I have this launcher that lets me run in 3 or 4 different ways. Stock, the MODS folder usage, Ultra Pack (Which crashes on start), and ... Something else, idr the name... I'll give that UBI Fix a try, though. Thanks.

NOT TRUE. I am running il2 1946 4.11m in win7 64bit and works flawlessly. However I recommend not installing under programs folder though! Good luck!

I downloaded hsfx 4.1, and i cant really tell the difference between stock and all the mods that the mod comes with (i.e. history mod, perfect textures, high effects, etc). and i have i7 cpu, gtx 560, 1366 mobo, all the works. am i missing a mod or something that make it look this sweet?

What does installing HSFX 4.1 do to inhance the game. More aircraft? More missions? I am not familiar wth "MODS." I just bought IL-2 1946 after suffering thru CFS3 all this time and WHAT a difference! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

First off IL-2 only uses one core. 2nd in your config All settings that end with NV don't work with ati they stand for nvidia and you have ati which I do as well you might as well turn them off. 3rd TexFlags.UsePaletteExt and TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt those open gl calls go hand in hand and both have to be on.

Yes download it and simple execut the .exe and locate the game directory

but i would recommend to install ultrapack 2.01 because it includes HSFX 4.1 and has even more content

Someone help me. I played il-2 today when it suddenly quit the whole game. Since then i can't start it. I ran it as administrator and even reinstalled. Played perfectly on windows 7 until today :S

hi, you can set your water settings to 4. Your rig should allow it and its worth it.

strange maybe its working with a crack iam using a crack because im sick of using a dvd

and i play with hsfx 4.1 and version 4.09

i had version 4.07 with crack then i patched on 4.08 and then to 4.09

after that i installed hsfx 4.0 and the hsfx 4.1 update

install it on xp install hsfx 4.1 over it and copy it to windows 7 in any folder exept programm files

i installed it on my friends pc with windows xp on it and copied it to my pc

and it was working

but why can`t u install it

its a quad core not a dual core

but the level of detail depends

more on the graphic card as on the cpu

but a dual core is fast enough to to get full details in il 2

Sweeeet! You really have your rig and IL-2 finely tuned! I noticed that you have a dual core like me. I have been trying to let guys know that they can get fantastic graphic quality with just a dual core. Ah, I still dream of a Quad! Nice video and I appreciate all the behind the scenes work to get your IL-2 and this video to that level of quality.

I can't get IL-2 to even install on Windows 7, it brings up the autorun thing, I select setup, then it brings up the message saying an unknown publisher is trying to make chandes to my pc, so i allow it , and then nothing happens after that., i don't understand :'(

i've got it onto windows 7 ok now, but you have to use a.exe or a file which is only 1 letter long... and all the patches/addons i install make IL-2 not work :(

yeah that worked at first, but then i tried installing the aaa sound pack and after that it wouldn't load up... tried reinstalling and adding the patches again, nothing. it only works on v4.07 for me :(

Dont know which mod you use.... but try to download the Ultrapack 2.0 with all the patches and always install with admin powers and compatible with xp .... that way worked for me.
