Tarja didn't want to tour the USA anymore because of the fact they play the small venues here, while everywhere else they play the coliseums and larger venues. They have already toured here twice within a year and they are coming back later this year...coincidence?

When I saw Nightwish in May I was moved. I went in with ears opened to hear Annette sing the older songs...I personally thought she did a good job...and she keeps getting better...this is the first in her life she has toured around the world...in a sense she's a rookie, so cut her some slack...I'm willing to bet that the first time everyone heard Tarja-they didn't like her vocals at first an opera singer? singing metal?? are you kidding me??? I know that's what I was thinking, but she grew on me

Anette takes all of the beauty and power out of this song.

Tuomas should have had her sing backup vocals for Marco, who should have been given lead vocals, and Anette should not have been expected to fill Tarja's role, as she simply doesn't have the ability to do so.

How could u tell? The crowd was singing along... and she put her own soul into it and getting the crowd involved, something the previous vocalist didnt do.

You must live in an alternate Universe where hot is cold and good is bad.

Anette sings for a paycheck and has ZERO passion in her voice or performance, whereas Tarja Turunen (the previous vocalist you call her) brought audiences to tears with the tremendous passion and power in her voice and in her performance.

When you hear old Nightwish you feel the passion, with this new singer it's like listening to elevator music.

A vocalist is the human voice that perfects a song, where the instruments complement that voice. A beautiful voice with great instrumentals sounds awesome, whereas a person that falters on a song when trying to sing it is not singing it beautifully, and destroys the entire aura that would have been felt by those listening.

I've seen at least 20 or so major concerts at large auditoriums and outdoor concerts. I've heard twice that many in clubs.

So get off your high horse and stop thinking you know everything, and that the only one that knows anything is you.

Don't put words in my mouth either. I never said "Tarja was the best operatic vocalist", although I do think she's the best symphonic metal singer out there.

Uh huh. She is widely seen as the BEST symphonic metal vocalist, although some like Floor Jansen or Vibeke Stene a bit better. Floor uses more of a rock style though, whereas Tarja uses a classical style.

Vibke has a softer voice than Tarja. It's nice but doesn't go with power metal quite as well.

Im sorry, not once did I say I was a fan of Annette -YOU are the one assuming that - Im a fan of NW, with/without Annette - they could have Bruce Springsteen for all I care, Im a supporter - u .. a childish basher, that has a love affair. Brilliant

Great to see Anette looking more comfortable, and much more like a frontwoman. I love the way she changes it a little, and the higher bit is wonderful.
