  • how is batery life?

  • Fine for stills, not so good for continuous video shooting...

  • evilsnakes1.. you're not using your BIG head, what do you expect from a point 'n' shoot camera? that's not a PANASONIC HVX200..

This camera is un matched in it's price range, not the higher range you're expecting..

  • after doing my research I see that this camera only actually records 30fps and then simply doubles the frames. I hate being lied to and so now I totally distrust panasonic as I did when fuji used to lie about their megapixel count in a similar way (processing to "double").

  • You're right about the "doubled frames" but the videos play so smooth that they look progressive already. I wish they were real 60fps but I don't think it's such a big issue.

  • My TZ7 does 720p just at 50 fps, i dont know why......

  • That's because it's the PAL model.

  • @LumixTZ7

Europe is.......:-/ Is there any chance to change PAL to NTSC in my TZ7? US or Japanese firmware,....? Something must exist :-( 60fps is much better quality.... Thank you

  • There is no way to do that, sorry. I know some people that tried it using NTSC firmwares but nothing happened to the camera. If you have a PAL model, you're stuck with 50fps.

  • That's amazing, how much detail there is from so far away. I couldn't get that detail in a still using up close macro with my powershot a95. There is no comparison at all.

  • i make a lot of videos for youtube and facebook and stuff, and i really need a new camera.... should i get this? i want pictures and videos but mostly video... im still saving up money for a camera and this one is kinda expensive.... do you think i should get it?

  • Hi and sorry for the late reply (maybe you got the camera already),

The TZ7/ZS3 is a wonderful camera that, despite its flaws, makes great quality videos (and stills). And you should keep in mind that uploading the videos to Youtube is as easy as selecting them and your ready to go (no compression needed unless yo want to).

    Good luck.

  • Hi, Nice example.

    I just installed iMOVIE 9.

I sure hope it works with AVCHD.

Or does Panasonic have their own software included?

    Thanks'

  • Panasonic bundles the PHOTOfunSTUDIO software but iMOVIE works fine as well as far as I know.

    Rgds.

  • Great Thanks,

Still waiting on backorder from dealer for mine.

  • cheers, might get 1 this week

  • Very impressive! Thank you!

But how close can u actually get and still be clear focused?

And what is the maximum shooting time? Some say 2 hours and some say 15 min.

  • You can get as close as 1cm and still be in focus; and if you enable the extra zoom feature in macro mode you can go even further but this is like an in-camera digital zoom.

Regarding the shooting time, in AVCHD Lite mode, you can shoot as long as the battery lasts with any model but the European one which has a 15min limit. If shooting in Motion JPEG, you get a 2GB file size limit or aprox. 8min and 20seg in all the models, wether it is the TZ7 or ZS3, PAL or NTSC.

    Bye!

  • Hello,

How is the Marco when you take a picture? can you let see it on YouTube..??

I love to maken Macro pictures but i don't no how the quality is from this camera..

Also i'm thinking about the Sony H20 ..

  • Macro mode works just fine but I haven't taken many shots yet. In fact, I'm using the camera a lot more to shot video than for taking pictures.

  • Thank You for the reaction.. :o)

  • Don't use any software, just upload .mts files and you're done (you have to wait though until they are shown in HD).

  • Thanks, I'll have a go tonight:)
